Abstract
Description
【0001】

[Industrial applications]
The present invention relates to a two-dimensional array probe for an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus capable of improving the directivity of an ultrasonic beam and obtaining sufficient sensitivity even when the ultrasonic beam is largely deflected.
[0002]
[Prior art]
As shown in FIG. 4, a conventional two-
[0003]
On the other hand, when the vibrator element is circular, the intensity distribution R of the ultrasonic wave radiated from one element is a radius of the vibrator, a is a wavelength of the radiated ultrasonic wave, and azimuth from the center of the main lobe. When the angle is θ and J 1 (x) is a first-order Bessel function, the angle is represented by the following equations (1) and (2).
[0004]
[0005]
That is, the ultrasonic beam radiated from the transducer element has directivity as shown in FIG. Further, a conventional two-dimensional array probe is configured by two-dimensionally arranging the transducer elements.
[0006]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In the above-described conventional two-dimensional array probe, when transmitting and receiving ultrasonic waves from each transducer, it is usual to deflect the ultrasonic beam (steering, focusing) by controlling the phase difference. In this case, since the ultrasonic beam emitted from each transducer element has directivity such that the intensity of the
[0007]
As a method of obtaining sufficient sensitivity in such a region, it is conceivable to reduce the radius a of the vibrator element to make the ultrasonic beam closer to non-directionality. In reality, there is a problem that manufacturing is difficult due to the requirement. On the other hand, the smaller the transducer element, the lower the output intensity of the ultrasonic wave, so that a problem arises that the signal-to-noise ratio of the reflected ultrasonic wave decreases.
[0008]
Therefore, the present invention is directed to an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus capable of obtaining sufficient sensitivity even in a region where the deflection angle is large by improving the directivity of the emitted ultrasonic beam without making the transducer element so small. It is an object to provide a two-dimensional array probe.
[0009]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve the above problems, in the present invention, the transducer element having a rectangular, circular, or hexagonal shape is two-dimensionally arranged in a planar, convex, or concave shape, and an ultrasonic wave is provided for each of the transducer elements. By providing the acoustic lens that diffuses the beam, it is possible to improve the directivity of the ultrasonic beam without making each element so small.
[0010]
The acoustic lens is individually formed for each transducer element, and is constituted by a single curved surface or an aggregate of a plurality of curved surfaces.
[0011]
Further, the acoustic lens may have a structure in which acoustic lenses of the respective vibrator elements are connected and integrally formed.
[0012]
In the two-dimensional array probe, a vibrator element may be formed by forming a vibrator element by a plurality of independent piezoelectric bodies or by forming an electrode pattern on one piezoelectric body.
[0013]
The piezoelectric body uses a single piezoelectric body or a composite piezoelectric body.
[0014]
In the two-dimensional array probe, a protective layer is provided so as to fill between acoustic lenses and cover the entire acoustic lens group or the entire acoustic lens assembly.
[0015]
[Action]
In the two-dimensional array probe having the above configuration, by providing an acoustic lens for diffusing the ultrasonic beam for each transducer element, the width of the main lobe of the ultrasonic beam can be increased and the directivity can be improved. Therefore, sufficient sensitivity can be obtained even when the deflection angle is increased in electronic scanning.

【The invention's effect】
As described above, in the two-dimensional array probe used in the ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus, by providing the acoustic lens for diffusing the ultrasonic beam for each transducer element, it is not necessary to make each transducer element so small. It is possible to improve the directivity of the radiated ultrasonic wave, thereby solving the problem that the sensitivity is reduced in a region where the deflection angle of the ultrasonic beam is large.
