【発明の属する技術分野】
本発明は、ガラス板の表面を平坦化させる研磨装置に関し、詳細には複数台並設した研磨盤上に連続的に搬入されるガラス板を順次研磨する連続研磨装置に係るものである。

【従来の技術】
ガラス板や基板の表面を研磨する場合には、直線的に往復動、および首振り自在な上部定盤の下面、あるいは回転運動する下部定盤の上面のいずれかの側の面にガラス板をセットし、上部定盤と下部定盤間で、ガラス板の片面、あるいは両面の研磨を行う技術が知られている。

例えば、ガラス板の表面を連続的に研磨させる先行技術として、ガラス板を一方向に移送するための研磨テーブルと、該研磨テーブルの上方にガラス板の移送方向に沿って配置された複数個の研磨具とを有し、各研磨具は偏心軸によって前記ガラス板に対し偏心回転運動を行い、かつ隣り合う研磨具の回転位相が反転するように設置されたガラス板の連続研磨装置がある。(特許文献1)さらに、ガラス板等の板状体の表面が同一平面内を移動するように、板状体を移動し、複数のロール状研磨パッドを、その軸線が板状体の表面に対して平行に、かつ、板状体の移動方向に対して略直交する方向に配設し、隣接するロール状研磨パッドを互いに逆方向に回転させると共に板状体に押し付けて板状体の表面を研磨することを特徴とする板状体の研磨方法、および、研磨具としてロール状研磨パッドを用いた板状体の研磨装置がある。(特許文献2)

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
前記特開平2−83150号公報、および特開平2−256454号公報記載の発明は、いずれもガラス板を連続的に研磨するものであるが、前者においては、水を吸着させた研磨布によって研磨テーブル上に載置したガラス板を固定する方法であるため、研磨圧によりテーブル上で位置ずれを起こし、複数枚配列した他のガラス板に衝接することが懸念され、また隣接ガラス板との隙間によっては複数の研磨具が乗り継ぎ時に互いに衝接を起こし易く、ガラス板の端縁部に欠け、割れを生ずる恐れがあるという問題点を有していた。

また、後者に記載のものは、ロール状研磨パッドを使用しているため、該パッドと板状体との接触面積が過少となり、研磨効率が低いという問題点を有していた。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明は、かかる問題点に鑑みて、シンプルな構成にして、複数台並設した研磨盤上に連続的に搬入されるガラス板を効率良く研磨でき、また、安定した仕上がり品質も確保でき、上部定盤に対するガラス板の着脱も安全確実に行え、ガラス板の搬送と共に連続研磨することを目的とするものである。

すなわち、本発明の研磨装置は、水平回転する研磨盤を複数台並設し、その上方部で水平方向に円弧状で無端ループ状に延設する軌道支持体の両側面に複数台の搬送キャリアを装着する搬送レールと、前記搬送キャリアへ連結着脱自在な連結手段により連結する複数台の台車を装着する走行レールとを添着し、前記走行レールに沿って走行自在な前記台車を前記走行レールに装着し、前記台車の夫々にガラス板を係着し懸吊する上下動自在なプレッシャプレートを設けた上部定盤を懸吊支持し、前記台車を、前記搬送レールに沿って研磨盤間のピッチに相当する長さだけ前進させて、研磨盤の上方部の前記上部定盤を隣接した次の研磨盤に移動させる搬送キャリヤを前記搬送レールに装着し、前記上部定盤を研磨盤に押圧かつ前記走行レールに沿って往復動せしめて研磨する複数の水平往復動手段を前記研磨盤の各々の上方部に配設している。
これにより、複数の台車を前記軌道支持体に装着した搬送キャリアで複数の研磨盤の上方部に循環走行させて、停車した台車に懸吊された上部定盤を降下させて研磨盤上に連続的に搬入されるガラス板を順次研磨するようにした。

さらに、前記軌道支持体および前記走行レールの途中部分において、前記軌道支持体と前記走行レールおよび前記搬送レールの途中を切断した空間部分に、前記軌道支持体、前記走行レールおよび前記搬送レールの端部または切断部に当接する可動支持体および前記可動支持体に添着した走行レールを設け、前記可動支持体に添着した走行レールの反対側より離れて立設する支柱上で前記可動支持体と直交するアームを軸支し、前記アームを回動させて前記可動支持体に懸吊された前記上部定盤を回動せしめる傾動手段を設けている。これにより、前記傾動手段が傾動状態を保持している間に前記上部定盤に係着するガラス板の着脱を行うようにした。

【発明の実施の形態】
本発明は、並設した複数台の研磨盤の上方部に、走行移動自在な複数台の上部定盤を設け、搬送キャリアへ連結着脱自在な台車によって上部定盤を複数台の研磨盤に順次移動させて研磨を複数台の研磨盤で連続的に行うことにより研磨効率を高め、並設した複数台の研磨盤による同一条件の複数回の研磨が各ガラス板になされることにより研磨された製品の研磨品質が一定となり、また、上部定盤の傾動手段により上部定盤に係着するガラス板の着脱作業を容易に、かつ安全に行うことができるものである。

図3に示したように、機台1の枠内に着座する回転駆動部2上に水平回転自在な研磨盤3を設けた研磨台4を直列に紙面と直交方向に複数台配列し、該複数台の研磨台4、4、・・の両側に門形形状で立設する複数本のフレーム5、5、・・を設け、該フレームの夫々から張り出したブラケット6上に、断面四角形状の長尺の軌道支持体9を研磨台4の配列方向に水平方向に固着支持し、該軌道支持体9を前記複数本のフレーム5、5、・・間に延設した。

該可動支持体33は、該走行レール7'、7'を設けた側面とは反対側方向に離れて立設する支柱34上で軸受(図示せず)を介して回動自在に設けられたシャフト軸35に、ブラケット36を介して可動支持体33の側面とを天秤状に固着し、バランサー40を設けたアーム37端と、傾動手段32、すなわち支柱34に隣接して設けた傾動シリンダー39とのロッド38を連結し上下動させれば、図2に示す矢印方向にアーム37は回動し、該アーム37と一体な可動支持体33の傾きにより走行レール7'、7'に台車10を介して懸吊装着中の上部定盤18は同時に斜め姿勢に傾き、プレッシャプレート17の下面に貼着中のガラス板16も斜め姿勢となり、側面より見て傾斜姿勢を表すものである。

以下、本発明の作動を説明する。

可動支持体33の位置でプレッシャプレート17にガラス板16を係着して停車中の台車10を、前もって搬送モーター19の逆回転により最初の研磨盤3の上方部の位置から所定の位置まで後退させて停止中の搬送キャリヤ21の位置まで移動させておく。

一方、研磨盤3の上方部に停車した台車10に懸吊された上部定盤18は、上部のビーム22に装着した水平往復動手段23の作動に追動させて水平往復動および降下させるが、まず水平往復動モーター30の正逆の回転作動により水平往復動プレート26が直動レール25に沿って往復動し、次に、水平往復動プレート26の下面に懸吊状に設けている押圧シリンダー28の作動によってシリンダロッド50を降下させると、シリンダロッド50の先端部は、軸部13の上端頂部を覆うように当接し、軸部13を押圧してバネ15、15で支持されている軸部13を降下させ、該軸部13と一体の、ガラス板16を支持するプレッシャプレート17を下面に設けた上部定盤を水平往復動させながら、プレッシャープレート17を下降させて回転中の研磨盤3に圧接すれば、該ガラス板16は研磨液の水膜を作る研磨盤3の回転と上部定盤18の水平往復動、加えて降下押圧とによりガラス板16の研磨盤3との当接面が研磨される。

回転中の研磨盤3上に上部定盤18を押圧しつつ、かつ水平往復動モーター30の正逆回転に追動し走行レール7、7に沿って水平往復微動させてガラス板16を一定時間研磨すると、押圧シリンダー28の復動と水平往復動モーター30の停止により上部定盤18は上昇して研磨盤3より離脱する。

走行レール7、7に装着した複数の台車10には、数台毎に上部定盤18に代わり研磨盤3の目詰まり除去用の図示しないドレッシング用プレートを設ければ、上部定盤18と同様な作動によって並べた複数の研磨盤3の研磨面の目詰まりを除去して研磨盤3を次々と再生し、良好な研磨仕上面を常に保持することが出来るものである。

【発明の効果】
本発明は、ガラス板等の基板を並設した複数台の研磨盤に連続的に搬入して研磨することにより効率よく、また研磨の仕上がり品質も常に一定となり、また、可動支持体に縣吊された上部定盤を回動せしめる傾動手段を設けたことにより傾動状態において上部定盤に対するガラス板の着脱も安全に確実に行うことができ、極めて簡易な構成でその目的が達成できる等その効果は顕著である。
