Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a pneumatic tire, and more particularly to a pneumatic tire excellent in running performance on icy and snowy roads.
[0002]
[Prior art]
As the use of spike tires has been banned, various tread improvements have been made in search of better studless tires.
[0003]
A tread of a studless tire that runs on ice and snow is provided with a plurality of circumferentially extending main grooves (usually 3 to 5) and a block type land portion distinguished by a large number of lug grooves that intersect these main grooves. ing. In order to improve the performance on ice of the studless tire, it is useful to provide a large number of sipes in the land portion and increase the edge component of the land portion.
[0004]
However, if a large number of lateral sipe crossing the land is provided to improve the driving and braking characteristics on ice, the edge component of the land increases, but the rigidity of the entire block decreases, and driving and braking on ice. There is a problem that the land element subdivided by sipe sometimes falls down, and as a result, the actual ground contact area decreases and the performance on ice decreases.
[0005]
On the other hand, paying attention to the fact that the block rigidity of the land portion improves when worn, there is a method of providing a special sipe that branches into a plurality of portions inside the land portion as disclosed in JP-A-2-227306 and JP-A-4-215506. .
[0006]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in the methods of JP-A-2-227306 and JP-A-4-215506, when the land portion wears, the edge length increases, so that the performance on ice is improved from the middle of use. There is no effect of improving performance.
[0007]
In view of the above facts, an object of the present invention is to provide a pneumatic tire that has excellent performance on ice since a new article.
[0008]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The invention according to claim 1 is a plurality of block shapes in which a reinforcing layer and a tread are sequentially arranged on the outer periphery of a crown portion of a carcass extending in a toroidal shape between a pair of bead cores, and the tread has a plurality of sipes. A pneumatic tire having a land portion, wherein the block- shaped land portion has a tapered shape on both sides of a tapered land portion whose width gradually decreases from the inner side in the tire radial direction to the contact surface side. The sipes are arranged in parallel along a predetermined direction so as to form a taper-shaped land element gradually increasing in width from the inside to the ground surface side, and the sipe intervals on the ground surface are alternately long and short when new. As the block-shaped land portion wears, it is characterized by approaching an equal interval.
[0009]
Next, the operation of the pneumatic tire according to claim 1 will be described.
In the pneumatic tire according to claim 1, the on-ice performance is obtained by the edge effect of the sipe provided in the block-shaped land portion.
[0010]
The sipe interval on the ground contact surface is alternately long and short when new, but the sipe interval gradually approaches an equal interval as the block-shaped land portion is worn by running. When the block-shaped land portion is viewed in a cross-section perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the sipe, the width of the land portion element gradually decreases from the tire radial inner side to the ground contact surface, and on the both sides of the tapered land component, the tire radial inner side to the ground contact surface side. A land portion having a tapered shape with a gradually increasing width is formed .
Looking at the land element alone, the land element, which has a tapered shape gradually decreasing in width from the tire radial inner side to the contact surface side, has a tapered shape in which the width gradually increases from the tire radial inner side to the contact surface side. Compared to the land part element , it is easy to fall down in the sipe arrangement direction with respect to the input from the road surface. However, in the pneumatic tire of the present invention, the land element having a tapered shape whose width gradually decreases from the inner side in the tire radial direction to the contact surface side is in contact from the inner side in the tire radial direction that is hard to fall down against an input from the road surface. Since it is sandwiched and supported by a land element having a tapered shape gradually increasing in width toward the ground side, the land element having a tapered shape in which the width gradually decreases from the inner side in the tire radial direction to the ground contact surface side is It is difficult to fall down from the new article, and the decrease in the actual contact area of the tread is prevented from the new article, and the performance on ice due to the decrease in the actual contact area is prevented. In addition, when the tread was worn by running, the height of the block-shaped land portion was reduced, the block rigidity of the block-shaped land portion was increased, and the width gradually decreased from the inner side in the tire radial direction to the ground contact surface side. Since the land element itself is also difficult to fall down, it is gradually unnecessary to be supported by the land element having a tapered shape with the width gradually increasing from the inner side in the tire radial direction to the contact surface side .
[0011]
Therefore, the pneumatic tire of the present invention can obtain stable high on-ice performance from the new product to the late use by securing the edge effect of sipe and a stable actual ground contact area.
[0012]
In addition, since the number of sipes does not increase or decrease during use, there is no change in performance on ice due to changes in the number of sipes.
[0013]
In addition, the width (minimum sipe interval) of the ground contact surface at the time of a new land element having a tapered shape gradually decreasing from the tire radial inner side to the contact surface side is at least 1 mm to obtain an edge effect. It is preferable that
The invention according to claim 2 is a plurality of block shapes in which a reinforcing layer and a tread are sequentially arranged on the outer periphery of a crown portion of a carcass extending in a toroidal shape between a pair of bead cores, and the tread has a plurality of sipes. A pneumatic tire having a land portion, wherein the block- shaped land portion includes a land portion element having a tapered shape with a gradually decreasing width from the tire radial inner side to the contact surface side, and the tire radial inner side. The sipe is arranged in parallel along a predetermined direction so that land elements having a tapered shape gradually increasing in width toward the ground surface side are formed in parallel, and the sipe intervals on the ground surface are alternately long and short when new. As the block-shaped land portion wears, it is characterized by approaching an equal interval.
Similarly to the pneumatic tire according to claim 1, the block-like land portion of the pneumatic tire according to claim 2 is also a land having a tapered shape with a gradually decreasing width from the inner side in the tire radial direction to the contact surface side. Since the land element having a tapered shape with the width gradually increasing from the inner side in the tire radial direction to the contact surface side is disposed on both sides of the part element , the same action as the first pneumatic tire can be obtained.
[0014]
A pneumatic tire according to a third aspect is the pneumatic tire according to the first aspect, wherein the sipe extends in a tire axial direction.
[0015]
Next, the operation of the pneumatic tire according to claim 3 will be described .
In the pneumatic tire according to the third aspect, since the sipe extends in the tire axial direction, the driving / braking performance on ice can be improved.
[0016]
