上述のスピーカは、薄型化を図るために、ダイアフラム7も平面的なものとしているが、ダイアフラム7を平面的にするとボイスコイル8との結合部はT字型となり、こうなるとボイスコイル8の振動伝達が悪くなり、高域の音圧レベルが低下したり、高域限界周波数が伸びず再生帯域が狭くなるという課題を有していた。

本発明の請求項1に記載の発明は、ダイアフラムの形状を、ボイスコイルとの結合部はボイスコイルとは反対側に突出させ、かつ前記ダイアフラムのボイスコイルとの結合部の内側は、ボイスコイルとは反対側にドーム形状に突出するとともに、そのダイアフラムの中心部は、ボイスコイル側に鋭角の立上り部を持ってへこんだ構造を有し、このへこんだ構造部は前記磁気回路と略平行な面としたものである。この構成により、ボイスコイルの振動を伝達ロスを少なくしてダイアフラムに伝達することができ、かつ、ダイアフラムの中心部がへこんだ構造となっているため、全高寸法が大きくならず、薄型化を実現することができる。
