Description

【発明の属する技術分野】
本発明は複数のコントロールケーブルを用いて複数又は特定の被操作手段を選択的に適宜遠隔操作し得る中間接手に関する。

【従来の技術】
従来技術の事例は色々有るが、その一例を自転車のブレーキ装置について説明すると、自転車のブレーキは従来ハンドルに装着された左右のブレーキレバーによって右は前輪、左は後輪と別々に作動させるものが殆どである。ブレーキを操作する場合、安全のため両手で前記ブレーキレバーを適当に操作し、手加減で前輪よりも後輪のブレーキを先に掛けるようにする。しかし咄嗟の危険回避で緊急ブレーキを掛けた場合、適度の力配分が出来ず、前輪のブレーキが後輪のブレーキよりも先に作動して転倒するなどの危険性が極めて高く、又片手運転を余儀なくされた場合、右手での前輪ブレーキだけの操作では、前記と同様の危険があるので、安全上左手で後輪のブレーキを操作することになるが、後輪のブレーキ操作だけでは前輪ブレーキの併用に比べて制動距離が遥かに長いので、いずれにしても危険であることに変りはない。

この様な不具合を解消するために、特開昭53−69341号公報の発明など、中間接手に関する多数の発明や考案が成されている。前記の発明は、自転車の、ブレーキレバーの左右いずれか一方のみを操作しても、前輪後輪が同時に作動する構造になっている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
一般に前記のような発明が普及していない理由として、日本工業規格(JIS)「一般自転車」D9301のブレーキに関する條項で「自転車は、前車輪・後車輪のそれぞれを制動する別系統のブレーキを装備しなければならない。」と言う制約が有るので、採用されていないのが現状である
上記の不備を解消するために、特公昭55−22312号公報や、特公平7−61793号の公報などの発明が成されている。しかしながら、前者の発明においては前輪後輪のブレーキ装置が完全に別系統になっておらず、又後者の発明においては前輪後輪のブレーキ装置が構造上別系統のものに属するが、その構造が極めて複雑で、物理的に装置が大きくなることは避け得べくもない。

本発明は上記のような欠点を解消するためにケーシングと、前記ケーシング内に摺動自在に組込まれたジョイントピースとから構成されたコントロールケーブル用中間接手の前記ジョイントピースに、コントロールケーブルの内索に固着されたニップルを係合し得る複数個の長孔の係合孔が穿設された構造が採用されている。

【作用】
本発明によるコントロールケーブル用中間継手の作用の一例を、2系統のコントロールケーブルが介在した場合で説明すると、一方系統のコントロールケーブルに於ける内索の中間部に固着されたニップルは、摺動自在にケーシング内に収納されたジョイントピースに穿設した一方の係合孔の操作手段側に係合当接され、他方系統のコントロールケーブルに於ける内索の中間部に固着されたニップルは、前記ジョイントピースに穿設した他方の係合孔の被操作手段側に係合当接してなり、かかる構造において一方系統のコントロールケーブルの内索を操作手段側方向に摺動させると、他方系統のコントロールケーブルの内索も前記ジョイントピースによって操作手段側方向に摺動させて二系統の被操作手段を同時に操作しうる。又他方系統のコントロールケーブルの内索を操作手段側方向に摺動させた場合、この内索に固着されたニップルは前記ジョイントピ−スの前記係合孔内で前記ジョイントピースとは関係なく操作手段側方向に単独で摺動するので、他方系統の被操作手段だけを単独で操作しうる。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、添付の図面を参照して本発明の好ましい実施の形態を説明する。図1は本発明の一使用例で2本のコントロールケーブルを用いた場合であり、いずれのコントロールケーブルをも作動させていない状態を示す。中間接手1のケーシング2内にジョイントピース3がC,D矢指方向へ摺動自在に組込まれ、ジョイントピース3に一対の長孔である係合孔4a,4b、が穿設されている。一方、ケーブルAの内索5aの中間部に固着されたニップル6aは、前記係合孔4aの操作手段側に係合当接されており、ケーブルBの内索5bの中間部に固着されたニップル6bは、前記係合孔4bの被操作手段側に係合当接されている。
