図16における状態I〜状態IV及び状態A,Bは、図13にて説明した状態I〜状態IV及び状態A,Bに対応する。
【0033】
図17における状態I〜状態IV及び状態A,Bは、図13にて説明した状態I〜状態IV及び状態A,Bに対応する。
【0035】
図18における状態I〜状態IV及び状態A,Bは、図15にて説明した状態I〜状態IV及び状態A,Bに対応する。
【0039】
図19における状態I〜状態IV及び状態A,Bは、図15にて説明された状態I〜状態IV及び状態A,Bに対応する。
【0041】

移動ホスト3は、アプリケーション31aを含むアプリケーション層31、TCP(TransmissionControl Protocol)及びUDP(User Datagram Protocol)33a(以下、TCP/UDPと称する)及び送達確認信号バッファスペース33bを含むトランスポート層33、IP(Internet Protocol)35aを含むIP層35、リンク37a及びインターフェース37bを含むリンク層37を備える。
【0077】

Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a mobile node, a mobile communication system, and a communication control program that can solve the above-described problems and prevent a significant decrease in TCP throughput that occurs during handoff of the mobile node.
[0043]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The mobile node according to the present invention is a mobile node that receives a TCP data segment and transmits a delivery confirmation signal for the TCP data segment, and buffers the delivery confirmation signal during a handoff period to complete the handoff. A means to send a buffered acknowledgment signal whenThe period during which the delivery confirmation signal is buffered by the above means is a predetermined time for starting the link layer instantaneous interruption time when the link layer of the mobile node is not connected to any external link for switching the connection point. This is the period from before the change of the access router that provides the newly connected external link to the default router after the end of the link layer instantaneous interruption time.It is characterized by that.
[0044]
In the mobile node according to the present invention, the acknowledgment signal to be transmitted during the handoff period is buffered without being transmitted during the handoff period, and the acknowledgment signal buffered when the handoff is completed Is sent. As described above, since the delivery confirmation signal is not transmitted during the handoff period, a new TCP data segment is not transmitted to the mobile node, and there is no TCP data segment causing packet loss. When a delivery confirmation signal is transmitted after the handoff period, a new TCP data segment is transmitted to the mobile node. Data transfer using TCP is stopped for the time corresponding to the buffering of the delivery confirmation signal, and this time is a time accompanying handoff (for example, about 100 ms or less). On the other hand, the data transfer suspension period due to the influence of the continuous loss of the TCP data segment is a time (corresponding to “Tr” shown in FIGS. 16 to 19, for example, 1 second or more) when the TCP Retransmission Timer expires. Therefore, a decrease in TCP throughput due to buffering of the delivery confirmation signal is smaller than a decrease in TCP throughput due to the influence of continuous loss of TCP data segments. As a result, it is possible to prevent a significant decrease in TCP throughput that occurs at the time of mobile node handoff.Further, in the present invention, during the period in which the acknowledgment signal is buffered by the above means, the link layer instantaneous interruption time when the link layer of the mobile node is not connected to any external link for switching the connection point is started. Since it is a period from the predetermined time before the access router that provides the newly connected external link to the default router after the link layer instantaneous interruption time ends, the period for buffering the delivery confirmation signal is extremely appropriate. Therefore, a significant decrease in TCP throughput can be further prevented.
[0045]
Also,The predetermined time is preferably set to be equal to or longer than the round-trip transmission time between the mobile node and a node communicating with the mobile node. In this case, before the buffering starts, the TCP transmission segment newly transmitted by the communication partner host is received via the currently connected access router when the last transmission confirmation signal reaches the communication partner host.be able to.
[0046]
Preferably, the means detects a predetermined time before the start of the link layer instantaneous interruption time by a signal from the interface connected to the external link, and detects a change of the default router by a signal from the IP layer of the mobile node. When configured in this way, the period for buffering the delivery confirmation signal can be detected appropriately and easily.
[0047]
Further, the means performs delivery acknowledgment signal buffering for each TCP connection, and for each TCP connection, TCP buffer having a sequence number larger than the delivery acknowledgment signal in which the newly buffered delivery acknowledgment signal is already buffered. If it is for a segment, it is preferable to replace the already buffered acknowledgment signal with a newly buffered acknowledgment signal. When configured in this way, a space for buffering the delivery confirmation signal can be saved.
[0048]
The mobile node according to the present invention is a mobile node that transmits a TCP data segment, buffers the TCP data segment during the handoff period, and stores the buffered TCP data segment when the handoff is completed. Have a means to sendThe period during which the TCP data segment is buffered by the above means is a predetermined time for starting the link layer instantaneous interruption time when the link layer of the mobile node is not connected to any external link for switching the connection point. This is the period from before the end of the link layer momentary interruption time until the access router that provides the newly connected external link is changed to the default router, and the predetermined time is communicated with the mobile node and the mobile node. Is set to be longer than the round-trip transmission time betweenIt is characterized by that.
[0049]
In the mobile node according to the present invention, the TCP data segment to be transmitted during the handoff period is buffered without being transmitted during the handoff period, and is buffered when the handoff is completed. Is sent. In this way, since the TCP data segment is not transmitted during the handoff period, the delivery confirmation signal corresponding to the mobile node is not transmitted, and there is no delivery confirmation signal that causes packet loss. When a TCP data segment is transmitted after the handoff period, a delivery confirmation signal corresponding to the TCP data segment transmitted to the mobile node is transmitted. Data transfer using TCP is stopped for the time of buffering the TCP data segment. This time is a time associated with handoff (for example, about 100 ms or less). On the other hand, the data transfer stop period due to the inability to obtain the TCP data segment transmission timing is the time when the TCP Retransmission Timer expires (corresponding to “Tr” shown in FIGS. 16 to 19, for example, 1 second or more). It is. Therefore, a decrease in TCP throughput due to TCP data segment buffering is smaller than a decrease in TCP throughput due to the inability to obtain a TCP data segment transmission opportunity. As a result, it is possible to prevent a significant decrease in TCP throughput that occurs at the time of mobile node handoff.
[0050]
Also,In the present invention, the aboveThe period during which the TCP data segment is buffered by means of the link from the predetermined time before the start of the link layer instantaneous interruption time when the link layer of the mobile node is not connected to any external link for switching the connection point This is the period until the access router that provides a newly connected external link is changed to the default router after the layer interruption time ends.BecauseThe period for buffering the TCP data segment is set very appropriately, and a significant decrease in TCP throughput can be further prevented.Further, in the present invention, the predetermined time is set to be equal to or longer than the round-trip transmission time between the mobile node and the node communicating with the mobile node. By receiving the communication partner host, a delivery confirmation signal newly transmitted by the communication partner host can be received via the currently connected access router.
[0051]
Preferably, the means detects a predetermined time before the start of the link layer instantaneous interruption time by a signal from the interface connected to the external link, and detects a change of the default router by a signal from the IP layer of the mobile node. When configured in this manner, it is possible to detect the period for buffering the TCP data segment appropriately and easily.
[0052]
Meanwhile, the mobile communication system according to the present invention includes a mobile node and a plurality of access routers that provide external links to the mobile node, and the mobile node receives the TCP data segment transmitted from the access router and receives the TCP data. A mobile communication system for transmitting a delivery confirmation signal for a segment to an access router, wherein the mobile node buffers the delivery confirmation signal during a handoff and receives the buffered delivery confirmation signal when the handoff is completed. Have a means to transmit to the access router that provides the newly connected external linkThe period during which the delivery confirmation signal is buffered by the above means is a predetermined time for starting the link layer instantaneous interruption time when the link layer of the mobile node is not connected to any external link for switching the connection point. This is the period from before the change of the access router that provides the newly connected external link to the default router after the end of the link layer instantaneous interruption time.It is characterized by that.
[0053]
In the mobile communication system according to the present invention, the delivery confirmation signal to be transmitted during the handoff period is buffered without being transmitted during the handoff period, and the delivery confirmation buffered when the handoff is completed. A signal is sent to the access router that provides the newly connected external link. As described above, since the delivery confirmation signal is not transmitted during the handoff period, a new TCP data segment is not transmitted from the communication partner node to the mobile node, and there is no TCP data segment causing packet loss. When a delivery confirmation signal is transmitted to the access router after the handoff period, a new TCP data segment is transmitted from the correspondent node to the mobile node. As a result, it is possible to prevent a significant decrease in TCP throughput that occurs at the time of mobile node handoff. In the present invention, the period during which the acknowledgment signal is buffered by the means is a predetermined start of the link layer instantaneous interruption time when the link layer of the mobile node is not connected to any external link for switching the connection point. Since it is a period from the time before the access router that provides the newly connected external link to the default router after the link layer instantaneous interruption time ends, the period for buffering the acknowledgment signal is extremely appropriate. As a result, the TCP throughput can be further prevented from significantly decreasing.
[0054]
Also,The predetermined time is preferably set to be equal to or longer than the round-trip transmission time between the mobile node and a node communicating with the mobile node. In this case, before the buffering starts, the TCP transmission segment newly transmitted by the communication partner host is received via the currently connected access router when the last transmission confirmation signal reaches the communication partner host.be able to.
[0055]
Preferably, the means detects a predetermined time before the start of the link layer instantaneous interruption time by a signal from the interface connected to the external link, and detects a change of the default router by a signal from the IP layer of the mobile node. When configured in this way, the period for buffering the delivery confirmation signal can be detected appropriately and easily.
[0056]
Further, the means performs delivery acknowledgment signal buffering for each TCP connection, and for each TCP connection, TCP buffer having a sequence number larger than the delivery acknowledgment signal in which the newly buffered delivery acknowledgment signal is already buffered. If it is for a segment, it is preferable to replace the already buffered acknowledgment signal with a newly buffered acknowledgment signal. When configured in this way, a space for buffering the delivery confirmation signal can be saved.
[0057]
A mobile communication system according to the present invention is a mobile communication system comprising a mobile node that transmits a TCP data segment, and a plurality of access routers that provide external links to the mobile node. There is a means to buffer the TCP data segment during the period and send the buffered TCP data segment to the access router that provides the newly connected external link when the handoff is completed. The period during which the TCP data segment is buffered by the above means is a predetermined time for starting the link layer instantaneous interruption time when the link layer of the mobile node is not connected to any external link for switching the connection point. This is the period from before the end of the link layer momentary interruption time until the access router that provides the newly connected external link is changed to the default router, and the predetermined time is communicated with the mobile node and the mobile node. Is set to be longer than the round-trip transmission time betweenIt is characterized by that.
[0058]
In the mobile communication system according to the present invention, the TCP data segment to be transmitted during the handoff period is buffered without being transmitted during the handoff period, and the TCP data buffered when the handoff is completed The segment is sent to the access router that provides the newly connected external link. Thus, since the TCP data segment is not transmitted during the handoff period, the delivery confirmation signal corresponding to the mobile node is not transmitted from the communication partner node, and there is no delivery confirmation signal that causes packet loss. When the TCP data segment is transmitted after the handoff period, a delivery confirmation signal corresponding to the TCP data segment transmitted to the mobile node is transmitted from the communication partner node.
[0059]
[0060]
Preferably, the means detects a predetermined time before the start of the link layer instantaneous interruption time by a signal from the interface connected to the external link, and detects a change of the default router by a signal from the IP layer of the mobile node. When configured in this manner, it is possible to detect the period for buffering the TCP data segment appropriately and easily.
[0061]
Then, the communication control program according to the present invention receives a TCP data segment and buffers a delivery confirmation signal during a handoff period in order to transmit a delivery confirmation signal for the TCP data segment. Act as a means of sending a buffered acknowledgment signal when the handoff is completeThe period for buffering the delivery confirmation signal by the above means is from a predetermined time before the start of the link layer instantaneous interruption time when the link layer of the mobile node is not connected to any external link for switching the connection point. This is the period until the access router that provides the newly connected external link is changed to the default router after the link layer instantaneous interruption time ends.It is characterized by that.
[0062]
In the communication control program according to the present invention, when the computer functions as the above means, the delivery confirmation signal to be transmitted during the handoff period is buffered without being transmitted during the handoff period, and the handoff is performed. When completed, a buffered acknowledgment signal is sent.
[0063]
Also,The predetermined time is preferably set to be equal to or longer than the round-trip transmission time between the mobile node and a node communicating with the mobile node. In this case, before the buffering starts, the TCP transmission segment newly transmitted by the communication partner host is received via the currently connected access router when the last transmission confirmation signal reaches the communication partner host.be able to.
[0064]
Preferably, the means detects the start of the link layer instantaneous interruption time by a signal from an interface connected to the external link, and detects a change of the default router by a signal from the IP layer of the mobile node. When configured in this way, the period for buffering the delivery confirmation signal can be detected appropriately and easily.
[0065]
Further, the means performs buffering of the delivery confirmation signal for each TCP connection, and for each TCP connection, the newly buffered delivery confirmation signal has a sequence number larger than that of the delivery confirmation signal already buffered. If it is for a TCP data segment, it is preferable to replace the already buffered acknowledgment signal with a newly buffered acknowledgment signal. When configured in this way, a space for buffering the delivery confirmation signal can be saved.
[0066]
In addition, the communication control program according to the present invention buffers a TCP data segment during a handoff period to transmit a TCP data segment, and the buffered TCP data segment when the handoff is completed. Function as a means to sendThe period for buffering the TCP data segment by the above means is from a predetermined time before the start of the link layer instantaneous interruption time when the link layer of the mobile node is not connected to any external link for switching the connection point, It is a period until the access router that provides a newly connected external link is changed to the default router after the link layer instantaneous interruption time ends, and the predetermined time is a node that communicates with the mobile node, Is set to more than the round-trip transmission time betweenIt is characterized by that.
[0067]
In the communication control program according to the present invention, when the computer functions as the above means, the TCP data segment to be transmitted during the handoff period is buffered without being transmitted during the handoff period, and the handoff is performed. When completed, the buffered TCP data segment is transmitted.
[0068]
Also,In the present invention, the aboveThe period during which the TCP data segment is buffered by the means is a predetermined time at the start of the link layer instantaneous interruption time when the link layer of the mobile node is not connected to any external link for switching the connection pointin frontTo the time when the access router that provides the newly connected external link is changed to the default router after the link layer instantaneous interruption time endsBecauseThe period for buffering the TCP data segment is set very appropriately, and a significant decrease in TCP throughput can be further prevented.Further, in the present invention, the predetermined time is set to be equal to or longer than the round-trip transmission time between the mobile node and the node communicating with the mobile node. By receiving the communication partner host, a delivery confirmation signal newly transmitted by the communication partner host can be received via the currently connected access router.
[0069]
Preferably, the means detects a predetermined time before the start of the link layer instantaneous interruption time by a signal from the interface connected to the external link, and detects a change of the default router by a signal from the IP layer of the mobile node. . When configured in this manner, it is possible to detect the period for buffering the TCP data segment appropriately and easily.
