よって、浴槽に貯められたお湯の熱が、浴槽の外部へ逃げにくく、お湯の温度が、長時間冷めずに保たれる。
特に、同一の断熱効果を有する他の材質や構造の風呂蓋に比較して、著しく軽量化を図り得る。しかも、軽量でありながら、十分な強度と剛性を有し、堅牢である。
また、窓部10を迅速に塞いで、樹脂液が漏れ出るのを防ぐことができる。しかも、塞ぐための塞ぎ板6が把持部11を兼ねることで、外観をシンプルな構成にすることができる。 また、空間4内に、真空断熱材25が内蔵されているので、断熱効果を上昇させることができると共に、風呂蓋の、一層の軽量化、薄型化を図り得る。
