D={(ct+d)×P+et+f}×β(t) ……▲1▼
T=(at+b)×β(t) ……▲2▼
A=β(t) ……▲3▼
【0026】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a sensor device configured to convert an analog amount detection signal from a sensor circuit into digital data through an A / D conversion circuit.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, in a pressure sensor device, a sensor circuit that generates a detection signal having a voltage level corresponding to a detected pressure, an amplification circuit that amplifies the detection signal from the sensor circuit, and a detection signal amplified by the amplification circuit are digitally converted. A combination of an A / D conversion circuit for converting data is provided. In such an apparatus, it is required to increase the conversion speed by the A / D conversion circuit and to reduce the size. In order to satisfy such a demand, for example, a ring as disclosed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 5-259907 is disclosed. It is considered to use an A / D conversion circuit configured to include a gate delay circuit. Specifically, the A / D conversion circuit includes a ring gate delay circuit formed by connecting a plurality of inversion circuits (NAND gates and inverters) whose inversion operation time changes according to the power supply voltage in a ring shape. The voltage signal to be converted based on the frequency of the pulse signal when the pulse signal is input to the ring gate delay circuit in each state where the voltage signal to be converted is supplied to the ring gate delay circuit as a power supply voltage. The signal is converted into digital data.
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
An A / D conversion circuit using a ring gate delay circuit has the advantage of being very fast and high in resolution, but the ring gate delay circuit itself is sensitive to disturbance factors such as heat, Specifically, in a state where the circuit elements constituting this are cooled, there is a circumstance that the pulse signal circulation speed when a pulse signal is input becomes relatively high. For this reason, there is a problem that the A / D conversion value becomes inaccurate at the beginning of the operation of the A / D conversion circuit as described above, that is, in a period when the ring gate delay circuit is not thermally stable. In particular, when a configuration that saves power by intermittently performing an A / D conversion operation, such as battery driving, when the interval time of the A / D conversion operation changes, When the ambient temperature is different, the temperature of the ring gate delay circuit at the start of the conversion operation will fluctuate, so the A / D conversion value at the beginning of the operation and the ring gate delay circuit are thermally stable As a result, there is a problem that the A / D conversion characteristic becomes unstable and the detection accuracy is lowered.
[0004]
The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and an object of the present invention is to improve the conversion speed and reduce the size when providing an A / D conversion circuit for converting a detection signal from a sensor circuit into digital data. To provide a sensor device that can obtain a stable A / D conversion characteristic and improve detection accuracy even though it uses a ring gate delay circuit for the purpose.

For this reason, the ring gate delay circuit is in a thermally stable state during the idling operation period, so that digital data obtained by the subsequent conversion operation is inaccurate as in the conventional configuration. Therefore, the stable detection of the physical quantity is improved as a result of obtaining such a stable A / D conversion characteristic. In addition, in an A / D conversion circuit using a ring gate delay circuit, the conversion speed can be greatly improved and the size can be reduced.
[0007]
According to the second aspect, the analog multiplexer selectively passes the detection signal from the sensor circuit, the reference signal from the reference voltage generation circuit, and the temperature signal from the detection circuit. The amplifying means amplifies signals sequentially output from the analog multiplexer, and the amplified detection signal, temperature signal and reference signal are supplied as a power supply voltage to the ring gate delay circuit in the A / D conversion circuit. In response to this, it is converted into digital data by the A / D conversion circuit. Prior to this conversion operation, the above-described idling operation is performed in the same manner, so that the digital data becomes accurate. The signal processing means performs calculation processing based on the digital data converted by the A / D conversion circuit, thereby calculating the physical quantity detection value corresponding to the detection signal in a state corrected by the temperature signal and the reference signal. become.
[0008]
That is, the detection signal, the temperature signal, and the reference signal are time-divided through an analog multiplexer, and a plurality of types of digital data corresponding to these signals are collected using the same amplification means and A / D conversion circuit. By the correction calculation (digital calculation) based on the collected digital data, a physical quantity detection value with high accuracy obtained by performing temperature compensation for sensitivity or the like can be obtained.

Therefore, the potential of one output terminal Q3 of the temperature detection bridge circuit 4 (the common connection point of the temperature-sensitive resistance element Rt1 and the resistance element Rc1) increases as the detected temperature increases, and the other output terminal Q4 ( The potential of the temperature-sensitive resistance element Rt2 and the resistance element Rc2 is reduced according to a decrease in the detection temperature, and the potential between the output terminals Q3 and Q4 is determined according to the temperature of the pressure

On the other hand, the

[0017]
The high input impedance differential amplifier circuit 8 (corresponding to the amplifying means in the present invention) has a well-known configuration in which
[0018]
The A / D conversion circuit 9 basically has the same configuration as the A / D conversion circuit described in, for example, JP-A-5-259907, and although not shown in detail, the inversion operation time is not shown.
[0019]
The outline of the conversion principle by the A / D conversion circuit 9 having such a configuration is as follows. That is, when a pulse signal PA as shown in FIG. 2 is given to the
[0020]
In this case, the power supply voltage is applied from the differential amplifier circuit 8 to the
[0021]
In the following, of the converted data by the A / D converter circuit 9, the digital data corresponding to the detection signal Sd corresponds to the pressure information D, the digital data corresponding to the temperature signal St corresponds to the temperature information T, and the reference signal Sa. The digital data will be referred to as reference information A.
[0022]
Here, the relationship between the pressure information D and the pressure P applied to the pressure
D = {(ct + d) × P + et + f} × β (t) (1)
Where t: temperature of the
c: Temperature coefficient of sensitivity of the pressure
d: Room temperature sensitivity of pressure
e: Temperature coefficient of offset of detected pressure value
f: Room temperature offset value of pressure detection value
Β (t) is a non-linear term that depends on the temperature characteristics of the differential amplifier circuit 8, the temperature characteristics of the delay time of the
[0023]
In order to obtain the solution of P from the above equation (1), t is necessary and β (t), which is a nonlinear coefficient, needs to be removed. Therefore, the temperature information T is obtained through the temperature
[0024]
In this case, the relationship represented by the following equation (2) exists between the temperature information T and the temperature t of the pressure
T = (at + b) × β (t) (2)
Where a: temperature coefficient of the temperature detection value
b: Room temperature offset value of the temperature detection value
[0025]
The reference information A is obtained by amplifying a reference signal Sa having a constant voltage level regardless of the pressure and temperature acting on the pressure
A = β (t) …… (3)
[0026]
Solving for P using the above equations (2) and (3), the following equation (4) in which the nonlinear term β (t) is deleted is obtained.
In the EPROM 13, coefficients a, b, c, d, e, and f necessary for calculating the pressure P based on the equation (4) are stored in advance as correction coefficients.
[0027]
The correction calculation circuit 14 (corresponding to the signal processing means in the present invention) performs the calculation of the pressure P using the above equation (4) in response to a command from the

When such an idling operation is completed (when time t1 when 0.5 seconds have elapsed after the start of output of the pulse signal PA is reached), an output control routine S4 for the pulse signals PA and PB is executed. In this routine S4, the pulse signal PA is continuously output during the period from the time t1 to the time t2 shown in FIG. 2, and the pulse signal PB is outputted at the timing shown in FIG. 2 (specifically, the time t1 after the time t1). In short, according to the above-described embodiment, the detection signal Sd, the temperature signal St, and the reference signal Sa are time-divided through the analog multiplexer 6 and each digital data (pressure information D) corresponding to the signals Sd, St, and Sa is used. , Temperature information T and reference information A) are collected using the same differential amplifier circuit 8 and A / D converter circuit 9, and the correction calculation (digital calculation) using the digital data thus collected (4) This makes it possible to obtain a highly accurate pressure detection value that has been subjected to temperature compensation for sensitivity, offset, and the like.
[0042]
In particular, according to this embodiment, before the conversion operation of the reference signal Sa, the temperature signal St, and the detection signal Sd by the A / D conversion circuit 9 as described above is started, the

FIG. 5 shows how the A / D conversion value (digital data) changes with time when the A / D conversion circuit 9 according to this embodiment is operated (cold start) from the initial state. The result of measuring whether it changes to is shown. FIG. 5 shows that the A / D conversion value obtained by the A / D conversion circuit 9 is stable when the idling time is set to 500 μsec (0.5 seconds) or more.
[0045]
Furthermore, as in the present embodiment, the A / D conversion circuit 9 using the
[0046]
In addition, from the equation (4) used for calculating the pressure detection value, it can be understood that if the values of T / A and D / A can be kept constant, the influence of so-called durability fluctuation can be ignored. In this case, in this embodiment, all of the detection signal Sd, the temperature signal St, and the reference signal Sa that are finally converted to the pressure information D, the temperature information T, and the reference information A for use in the calculation of equation (4) are Since it is configured to pass through the same analog circuit (analog multiplexer 6, differential amplifier circuit 8, A / D converter circuit 9), drift components of each signal due to fluctuations in circuit constants in the signal transmission system cancel each other. As a result, the T / A and D / A do not change with time. As a result, it becomes possible to remove the influence due to the endurance fluctuation, and the accuracy of the pressure detection value can be maintained in a good state for a long period of time.
[0047]
In order to realize further improvement in the accuracy of the pressure detection value, a large-sized differential amplifier circuit 8 having a high amplification capability is used. The differential amplifier circuit 8 includes the detection signal Sd, Since the temperature signal St and the reference signal Sa are both used for amplification, it is not necessary to provide a large number of differential amplifier circuits. From this aspect as well, the entire size can be reduced.
[0048]
The present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiment, and the following modifications or expansions are possible.
Although the example applied to the semiconductor pressure sensor device has been described, it can be widely applied to a sensor device for detecting other physical quantities such as acceleration, magnetic flux, and humidity. The
