【発明の属する技術分野】
本発明は例えば制御パネル、押しボタン等の高強度耐摩耗性が要求される部材、部品に適する二層成形物に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
例えば電気洗濯機、電子計算機等家庭用品や事務用品等にはインストルーメントパネル、制御パネル、押しボタン等が装備されている。これら部材あるいは部品は使用頻度が高く高強度耐摩耗性が要求される。このような部材、部品には従来から高強度なエンジニアリングプラスチックの射出成形物が使用されていた。しかしエンジニアリングプラスチックは耐摩耗性が乏しいので、その表面に射出成形によってエラストマーを被覆した構成が提供されている(特開平6−65467号、特開平6−107898号、特公平7−94137号)。
上記構成においては、エラストマーとしてスチレン・イソプレン・スチレンブロック共重合体(SIS)とポリエステル、ポリアミドまたは熱可塑性ポリウレタンとの混合物を使用して、エンジニアリングプラスチックとの熱融着性が改良されている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
上記従来技術においても、エンジニアリングプラスチックとエラストマーとの充分な熱融着性が得られなかった。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明は上記従来の課題を解決するための手段として、ポリフェニレンオキサイド層と、該ポリフェニレンオキサイド層を被覆するエラストマー層とからなり、該エラストマーはスチレン・エチレン・プロピレン・スチレンブロック共重合体100重量部と、ポリカーボネートおよび/またはアクリロニトリル−ブタジエン−スチレン共重合体5〜50重量部との混合物である二層成形物を提供するものである。

本発明において使用されるエンジニアリングプラスチックとしては、ポリフェニレンオキサイドおよび変性ポリフェニレンオキサイドがある。

本発明において使用されるエラストマーとしては、スチレン・エチレン・プロピレン・スチレンブロック共重合体(SEPS)が選択される。そして該SEPSの熱融着性を更に改良するために添加される熱可塑性樹脂はポリカーボネート(PC)およびアクリロニトリル−ブタジエン−スチレン共重合体(ABS)である。該熱可塑性樹脂の添加量はSEPS100重量部に対して5〜50重量部である。

本発明の二層成形物を製造する方法としては、主として射出成形法が適用される。該射出成形法としては、射出成形したエンジニアリングプラスチック成形物を射出成形金型内にインサートし、エラストマー層を射出成形するインサート射出成形法、射出成形金型内でエンジニアリングプラスチック成形物を射出成形し、次いでエラストマー層を射出成形する二色射出成形法がある。

【発明の実施の形態】
表1および表2に示すポリフェニレンオキサイド(PPO)を射出成形して110×20×2mmのプレート状成形物を製造し、該射出成形物を金型内にインサートして表1および表2に示す組成のエラストマー層(厚み1mm)を射出成形して二層成形物試料を作成する。
該二層成形物の剥離試験の結果を表1および表2に示す。
融着状態(融着性)の評価は下記の通りである。

表1および表2によれば、SEPS100重量部に対してPCまたはABSを10〜40重量部配合した範囲でPPOに対して良好な熱融着性そして層間剥離強度が得られる。

本発明では高強度なPPO成形物に耐摩耗性を付与するためにエラストマー層被覆するが、該エラストマー層としてSEPSにPCおよび/またはABSを混合するから、成形物とエラストマー層との優れた熱融着性が得られる。[0001]
