【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an image output apparatus suitable for an image processing system of a video camera apparatus, a camera apparatus, a computer apparatus, etc., and a storage medium storing an image output program.
[0002]
[Prior art]
2. Description of the Related Art Nowadays, a digital video camera device is known that digitizes an image signal obtained by imaging a desired subject and records it on a video cassette tape.
[0003]
This digital video camera apparatus captures imaging light by a CCD image sensor and forms an analog imaging signal corresponding to the amount of the imaging light. This imaging signal is amplified with an appropriate gain and digitized, then subjected to gamma correction processing and supplied to the contour compensation circuit. The contour compensation circuit forms contour compensation data in which a specific frequency of the imaging data is emphasized by using a fixed contour compensation coefficient, and adds this to the original imaging data to perform contour compensation processing on the imaging data. Is supplied to an electronic zoom circuit.
[0004]
The electronic zoom circuit performs, for example, a line interpolation process or the like on the imaging data subjected to the contour compensation process so as to obtain a magnification specified by the user, and electrically enlarges and outputs the subject image. The imaging data subjected to this electronic zoom processing is temporarily stored in a frame memory and read out for each field by the image output circuit in accordance with the recording rate. Then, a predetermined video process is performed and recorded on a video cassette tape.
[0005]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in the conventional digital video camera device, the image data once stored in the frame memory is read and recorded by the image output circuit as it is divided for each field, so in the output stage from this frame memory, There is a problem that image data cannot be processed at all and the image quality cannot be improved. The characteristics of the imaging data differ depending on, for example, the imaging conditions and the imaging modes, and it is desired to develop a digital video camera device that can change the characteristics of the imaging data to be output (recorded) in accordance with these.

[0013]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Preferred embodiments of an image output apparatus and a storage medium storing an image output program according to the present invention will be described below in detail with reference to the drawings.
[0014]
The image output apparatus and the storage medium storing the image output program according to the present invention can be applied to a digital video camera apparatus. This digital video camera apparatus forms imaging data that is a digital electrical signal based on imaging light captured by a CCD image sensor, and records this imaging data on a so-called digital video cassette tape. .
[0015]
An image pickup system of such a digital video camera apparatus is configured as shown in FIG. 1, and an image pickup unit 1 that picks up an image of a subject and outputs an image pickup signal corresponding to the image pickup light, and an image pickup from the image pickup unit 1. An automatic gain control circuit 2 (AGC circuit) that amplifies a signal with a predetermined gain and outputs it, and an A / D conversion that converts an imaging signal that is an analog signal from the
[0016]
In addition, the imaging system forms a contour compensation data for performing contour compensation processing for a predetermined frequency band of the imaging data from the
[0017]
The imaging system also includes a zoom
[0018]
In addition, the imaging system performs system control of the entire digital video camera device, and in particular, based on each detection output or selection output from the zoom
[0019]
The image output apparatus and the storage medium storing the image output program according to the present invention are mainly applied to the frame /
[0020]
Next, the imaging unit 1 is provided with, for example, a CCD image sensor, and thereby captures imaging light. In addition, as such an imaging means, an imaging tube may be provided instead of the CCD image sensor, thereby capturing imaging light. Further, as the CCD image sensor provided in the imaging unit 1, a field readout type CCD image sensor that reads out and outputs an imaging signal for each field of an even field and an odd field, and images for one frame. It is possible to provide a frame readout type CCD image sensor or the like that reads out signals at a time and divides the imaging signals for one frame into imaging signals for each field and outputs them.
[0021]
As will be described later, in this digital video camera apparatus, contour compensation processing is performed on luminance data (Y data). The data processing lines from the imaging unit 1 to the frame /

Although the description will be given assuming that the contour compensation processing is performed on the luminance data, the contour compensation processing may be performed on the color data. Even in this case, the operation of the
[0023]
Further, the imaging unit 1 is provided with an optical zoom function (optical zoom), and the subject image is enlarged or reduced to a desired magnification in accordance with a user operation. The optical zoom and the electronic zoom can be switched at a predetermined magnification. Specifically, for example, the subject image is optically enlarged in a range of 1 to 20 times, and enlarged to 20 times or more. In this case, switching from optical zoom to electronic zoom is performed so that the subject image optically magnified 20 times is electrically magnified up to 4 times. Accordingly, it is possible to enlarge the subject image up to 80 times in total including the optical zoom and the electronic zoom. Since such a configuration is an example, it is needless to say that a desired value (magnification) may be set according to the design or the like.
[0024]
Next, the operation of the digital video camera apparatus of the embodiment having such a configuration will be described.
[0025]
First, when imaging of a desired subject is started, the imaging unit 1 receives imaging light of the subject with a CCD image sensor and forms an analog imaging signal corresponding to the amount of the received imaging light. Note that the zoom magnification of the subject image to be imaged can be optically varied according to the user's operation by the optical zoom function provided in the imaging unit 1.
[0026]
The image pickup signal from the image pickup unit 1 is amplified with a predetermined gain by the

Specifically, the zoom magnification in the optical zoom and electronic zoom is detected by the zoom
[0034]
More specifically, the zoom magnification of the electronic zoom will be described as an example. When the zoom magnification is 1 to 2 times, as shown in FIG. The contour compensation coefficient data corresponding to the substantially flat frequency characteristic from the high frequency to the high frequency is used. In this case, for example, a value of “0.5” is supplied as the first contour compensation coefficient data K1 to the
[0035]
In addition, when the zoom magnification of the electronic zoom is 2 to 3 times, a frequency that linearly extends from the low range to the mid range and gradually decreases in level from the mid range to the high range as shown in FIG. Contour compensation coefficient data corresponding to the characteristics is used. In this case, for example, a value of “0.5” is supplied as first contour compensation coefficient data K1 to the
[0036]
Further, when the zoom magnification of the electronic zoom is 3 to 4 times, as shown in FIG. 3C, the linear zoom extends from the low range to the mid range and linearly decreases from the mid range to the high range. The contour compensation coefficient data corresponding to the frequency characteristic of the second curve is used. In this case, for example, a value of “0.5” is supplied as the first contour compensation coefficient data K1 to the

The imaging mode selected by the user is detected by the imaging
[0038]
For example, when the high resolution mode is selected from among a plurality of imaging modes, contour compensation coefficient data corresponding to frequency characteristics extending approximately linearly from a low frequency range to a high frequency range is used as shown in FIG. In this case, for example, a value of “0.5” is supplied as the first contour compensation coefficient data K1 to the
[0039]
The frequency band to be subjected to the contour compensation process selected by the user is detected by the compensation frequency
[0040]
Such contour compensation coefficient data is a value obtained by the applicant of the present invention by repeating trial manufacture experiments on how much contour compensation processing is performed in which frequency band to obtain a good display image. Also, the quality of the display image is not uniquely determined due to problems of personal preference. For this reason, in the digital video camera apparatus, the user can select a frequency band to be subjected to the contour compensation process so that each user's favorite image can be obtained.
[0041]
Further, when the subject image is enlarged by electronic zoom, so-called aliasing noise is generated. Therefore, a low-pass filter is required before the

[0047]
As described above, the digital video camera apparatus performs contour compensation processing on the frequency band of the image information in accordance with the zoom magnification, the imaging mode, or the user's selection. Thereby, the optimal contour compensation process according to the user's operation can be made possible. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the deterioration of the S / N ratio and the frequency characteristic, which have been problems when performing the high magnification electronic zoom.
[0048]
Specifically, for example, when imaging is performed at an infinite object distance (reduction: wide side) using electronic zoom, for example, it is generally known that a high-frequency component increases in the display image. In this case, the high-frequency component of the display image can be emphasized by using contour compensation coefficient data having frequency characteristics as shown in FIG. 3A to emphasize the high-frequency region of 5.4 MHz to 6.75 MHz. A better display image can be obtained. On the other hand, it is generally known that high frequency components are reduced in the displayed image when imaging is performed at a close subject distance (enlargement: telephoto side) using electronic zoom. In this case, the contour compensation coefficient data having frequency characteristics as shown in FIG. 3B is used to emphasize the middle range of 2.7 MHz to 5.05 MHz, so that the surface of the face is enlarged when a person is enlarged. It can be made to appear gently, and a better display image can be obtained.
[0049]
Further, the digital video camera apparatus prevents the inconvenience that the image quality is deteriorated due to the electronic zoom because the contour compensation coefficient data used for the contour compensation processing is a value that can reduce the aliasing noise during the electronic zoom. In addition, the low-pass filter required in the previous stage of the

The frequency characteristics of the non-addition mode are such that the imaging data of each field shows a flat characteristic from the low range to the high range as shown by the solid line in FIG. As shown by the dotted line in the figure, the frequency characteristics are such that the imaging data of each field gradually falls from the low range to the high range. Further, the frequency characteristic of the (3/4 + 1/4) addition mode is an intermediate characteristic between the non-addition mode and the (1/2 + 1/2) addition mode, as indicated by a one-dot chain line in FIG. . Such an output mode can be selected by the user operating the conversion
[0052]
Here, the saturation level will be described. When the CCD image sensor provided in the imaging unit 1 receives a large amount of imaging light, each solid-state imaging element is saturated. Although the sensitivity characteristics of the respective solid-state image sensors are the same, there is actually a sensitivity characteristic error or the like, which causes a difference in the level of the imaging data of each field output. Then, there arises a problem that flicker occurs when an image is displayed. For this reason, the digital video camera apparatus detects the saturation level of the imaging data of each field by the

In the following description of FIG. 6, one frame image data imaged by the imaging unit 1 is composed of even field (even) data and odd field (odd) data, and the data amount of one frame image data is 1. [0079]
As can be seen from FIG. 7, the frame / field conversion circuit for color data has a configuration in which a dividing circuit 52 is provided at the input stage of the frame / field conversion circuit for luminance data. For this reason, although there is a difference between the luminance data and the color data as the data to be processed, the processing operation is the same. Therefore, in the description of the frame / field conversion circuit for this color data, Parts that show the same operation as the field conversion circuit are denoted by the same reference numerals, and detailed description thereof is omitted.
