Description

【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an electrophotographic image forming apparatus such as a copying machine, a fax machine, and a printer, and more particularly to a switch mechanism that identifies opening and closing of a main body cover.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Generally, as a switch mechanism for identifying the open / close state of the main body cover with respect to the apparatus main body, a switch comprising a limit switch is provided on the apparatus main body side, and an operation member is provided on the main body cover side at a position corresponding to the switch. A switch mechanism is generally employed in which when the cover is closed, the operation member contacts and operates the switch.
[0003]
Usually, the operation member is a lever-shaped member, and is used in a state of being erected on the inner surface of the main body cover. Further, the main body cover has a large flat plate shape formed of a resin, is likely to warp, and has low strength against twisting. For this reason, it is difficult to maintain the position of the lever for operating the switch with high accuracy with respect to the position of the switch, and the malfunction of the switch is very narrow as the operation range for detection is several millimeters. It is a problem.
[0004]
Furthermore, during maintenance, the operator opens the main body cover and works, but since the lever protrudes from the main body cover, this interferes with the work, and sometimes the body comes into contact with the lever and damages the lever. It was.
[0005]
Therefore, in order to prevent the malfunction, it is too expensive to perform highly accurate positioning by tightening the component dimensions. In order to solve the above problem, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 8-285183 discloses a switch mechanism for providing a guide member between the lever and the switch, and guiding the lever to the guide member, and opening / closing of the main body cover. An image forming apparatus having a mechanism that is linked to an operation and that folds the lever into a main body cover so as to be rotatable is disclosed.
[0006]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in the image forming apparatus (Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 8-285183), a reliable operation by the lever is not secured for a narrow operating range of the switch. That is, since the main body cover is not positioned in the front-rear direction, the lever does not reach and malfunction due to insufficient contact may occur, and the effect of guiding the lever by the guide member is not sufficiently exhibited. Further, if a lever folding mechanism that is not directly related to the switch mechanism is provided in the main body cover, the configuration becomes complicated.
[0007]
Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to provide a switch mechanism that eliminates the need for costly high-precision positioning and ensures the operation over a narrow operating range of the switch with an inexpensive configuration, and a lever as an operation member has the configuration An object of the present invention is to provide an image forming apparatus that can be stored in an upper body cover.
[0008]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The image forming apparatus of the present invention that achieves the above object includes: a main body cover that can be opened and closed with respect to the main body of the apparatus; and a switch mechanism that identifies an open / closed state of the main body cover. Has a switch disposed on the apparatus main body side, a linear portion formed along one tangent on the arc surface thereof, a cam for operating the switch by its rotation, and at least a tip of the switch A portion having a linear shape portion formed along the moving direction of the distal end portion and capable of abutting on the linear portion, and supported at the base end portion so as to be rotatable on the main body cover, when the main body cover is closed. moved by it and a lever capable of rotating the cam, the when the body cover is closed, the upper by the tip of the lever causes the contact rotating the cam at a predetermined angle to the straight portion After the switch is operated, the linear shape portion and the linear portion abut in a parallel state, and the linear shape portion moves while slipping on the linear portion, whereby the rotation of the cam is the predetermined amount. It is characterized by being restrained by an angle .
[0009]
2. The image forming apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the cam has a locked member in the vicinity of the linear portion, and the tip of the lever has a locking member at a position corresponding to the locked member. And when the said main body cover opens, the said to-be-latched member and the said latching member engage, and the said cam is returned to the original position, It is characterized by the above-mentioned.
[0010]
3. The image forming apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the lever is movably guided by a guide member provided on the apparatus main body side near the distal end portion, and the main cover of the main body cover is guided by the guide member. It is characterized by its opening / closing / moving range being restricted.
[0012]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, an image forming apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. First, FIG. 1 shows an outline of the main configuration of the image forming apparatus of this embodiment. The image forming apparatus of the present embodiment includes a main body frame 1 that constitutes a side surface of the apparatus main body, and a main body cover 2 that is supported by the main body frame 1 and can be opened and closed with respect to the apparatus main body. The switch mechanism for identifying the open or closed state of the body cover 2, As a basic configuration, a switch 3 comprising a limit switch provided on the body frame 1, is rotatably supported on the body frame 1, scan a cam 4 which is positioned adjacent to the switch 3, science arm 4 by the movement of the opening and closing of the body cover 2 is intended can lever 5 Toka Ranaru be rotated.
[0013]
Lever 5, the base end portion on the side surface of the body cover 2 is supported on the rotating white standing, has a fitting portion 5a of the cylindrical projecting from its distal end to the next to several centimeters position A portion ahead of the portion provided with the fitting portion 5a is a tip portion 5b. The lever 5 is loosely fitted in a guide hole 1a formed in a “<” shape in the main body frame 1 as a guide member for guiding the lever 5 by the fitting portion 5a, and a distal end portion 5b of the lever 5 is The guide hole 1a can be moved along a fixed locus. The tip 5b moves to the upper end of the guide hole 1a when the main body cover 2 is closed, and comes into contact with the cam 4 disposed on the extension of the upper end of the guide hole 1a. By rotating the cam 4 by abutting of the distal end portion 5b, switch 3 is operated. In this way, it enables detecting that the body cover 2 is closed.
[0014]
Figure 2, for the switch mechanism, which is an enlarged view showing a state where the rotation Death switch 3 of cams 4 has been activated. The detailed configuration of the switch mechanism used in the image forming apparatus according to the present embodiment includes a cam 4, a lever 5, and a switch 3 . Cams 4 has a plate-like portion 4a, which is formed as a straight portion along the one tangent on the arc surface. The lower surface portion 5c of the distal end portion 5b of the lever 5 has a linear shape. The cams 4, there are projections 4b, and the detecting member 3a of the switch 3 by the cam 4 rotates, turning on and off of the switch 3 when pressed by the projection 4b.
[0015]
In FIG 2 shows a state in which the body cover 2 is completely closed, the fitting portion 5a of the lever 5 has reached the vicinity of the upper end of the guide hole 1a. As shown in the figure, when the tip 5b is guided by the guide hole 1a and reaches the vicinity of the upper end of the guide hole 1a by the operation in the closing direction of the main body cover 2, the tip 5b becomes the plate of the cam 4. The cam 4 is brought into contact with the shape portion 4a and rotated from the position indicated by the broken line to the position indicated by the solid line. With such cam 4 is rotated, the switch 3 is actuated by the detecting member 3a is pressed by the projections 4b of the cam 4.
[0016]
In the switch mechanism of this embodiment, the rotation of the cam 4 stops when the plate-like portion 4a of the cam 4 and the lower surface portion 5c of the tip portion 5b of the lever 5 come in parallel contact. Here, even if the distal end portion 5b does not stop at a predetermined position and moves further to the back, the tip 4b slips at the portion in contact with the parallel portion, so that the rotation of the cam 4 is suppressed. Further, even if the positioning of the main body cover 2 and the like is insufficient and the position of the tip portion 5b with respect to the cam 4 is somewhat rough forward and backward, the rotation angle of the cam 4 is kept constant.
[0017]
In this way, in the switch mechanism in which the movement of the tip 5b is converted into the rotation of the cam 4 at a constant rotation angle and detected by the switch 3 as a constant displacement of the tip of the detection member 3a due to this rotation, Identification of the open / closed state of the main body cover 2 is ensured, and the malfunction does not occur.
[0018]
In the switch mechanism of the present embodiment, the plate-like portion 4a that is a straight portion of the cam 4 and the lower surface portion 5c that is a straight shape formed at the tip portion 5b of the lever 5 are each configured as a plane. However, it is sufficient if it is just a straight line. For example, the tip 5b of the lever 5 has a columnar shape or a conical shape, and functions in the same manner even if it makes line contact with the plate-like portion 4a.
[0019]
2 shows a state in which the main body cover 2 is completely closed. As shown in FIG. 2, there is a slight gap space between the upper end of the guide hole 1a and the fitting portion 5a of the lever 5. 1b remains. Puncturing positions and of the thus guide hole 1a, by setting the shape, a poor positioning of the fitting portion 5a of closing the body cover 2, the main body cover 2 is also slightly shifted to the upper end Can be completely closed .
[0020]
On the other hand, when the main body cover 2 is opened, the tip 5b moves away from the plate-like portion 4a of the cam 4, but the cam 4 is returned to its original position to identify that the main body cover 2 has been opened. The return switch 3 needs to be turned off. For this reason, an urging means such as a spring mechanism for rotating the cam 4 in the clockwise direction is usually provided. However, the switch mechanism of this embodiment has a simple configuration without providing such an urging means. Means can be provided for returning the cam 4 to the original position indicated by the chain line in FIG.
[0021]
Referring to FIGS. 3 to 5, it will be described means for returning the cam 4 to the original position. 3A and 3B show a detailed configuration of the distal end portion 5b of the lever 5. FIG. 3A is a perspective view from the apparatus main body side, and FIG. 3B is a perspective view from the main body cover 2 side. As shown in these drawings, the front end portion 5b is a notch-shaped slope, a pressing portion 5b 'that comes into contact with the plate-like portion 4a, and a latch formed so as to protrude downward from the lower surface portion 5c. And a stop portion 5b ".
[0022]
FIG. 4 shows a detailed configuration of the cam 4 used together with the tip portion 5b. Of the plate-like portion 4a of the cam 4, the portion indicated by reference numeral 4a ′ is the pressing portion 5b ′ of the tip portion 5b. It is the contact surface which contacts. Further, a locked portion 4a ″ corresponding to the locking portion 5b ″ is provided at one corner of the plate-like portion 4a, that is, at a location different from the contact surface and in the vicinity of the contact surface 4a ′. It is
[0023]
FIG. 5 shows a state where the tip 5b rotates the cam 4. When the main body cover 2 is closed, the pushing portion 5b 'of the tip 5b and the contact surface 4a' of the plate-like portion 4a collide with each other (FIG. 5A), and the lower surface portion 5c of the lever 5 and the plate-like shape of the cam 4 The cam 4 rotates until the portion 4a is parallel to the portion 4a ((b) in the figure). After that, when the main body cover 2 is opened, when the tip portion 5b is separated from the plate-like portion 4a, the locking portion 5b "of the tip portion 5b and the locked portion 4a" of the cam 4 are engaged, The cam 4 can be rotated clockwise ((c) in the figure) to return the cam 4 to its original position.
[0024]
Next, a schematic configuration of the image forming apparatus of the present embodiment is shown, and in particular, other actions of the lever 5 will be described.
FIG. 6 shows a schematic configuration of the present embodiment in a state where the main body cover 2 is completely opened. The lever 5 is rotatably supported by the main body cover 2 at one end thereof, and at the other end on the apparatus main body side, the fitting hole 5a is provided in the guide hole 1a provided in the main body frame 1 serving as a guide member. The movable cover is movably fitted, and the moving range of the main body cover 2 is regulated by the guide member.
[0025]
As shown in FIG. 6, in the fully opened state of the main body cover 2, the fitting portion 5 b of the lever 5 hits the lower end of the guide hole 1 a and the main body cover 2 is held at a predetermined position by the lever 5. Thus, the lever 5 constitutes not only an operation member for the switch 3 but also a stopper mechanism for supporting the main body cover 2 together with the guide hole 1a.
Further, as shown in this figure, when the main body cover 2 is completely opened, the portion protruding to the outside from the main body frame 1 is completely accommodated in the hollow portion in the main body cover 2. Thus, the shape of the guide hole 1a and the lever 5 is determined in consideration of the housing position of the lever 5.
[0026]
Further, the image forming apparatus of this embodiment uses a process cartridge 6 for an image forming system. As shown in FIG. 6, this process cartridge 6 is an integrated construction of an image forming device such as a photoconductor 7, and is used by being set at the approximate center of the apparatus main body with the main body cover 2 opened. Is done. The process cartridge 6 is provided with a photoconductor cover 8 for protecting the photoconductor 7, which will be described in detail later. The photoconductor cover 8 moves the lever 5 when the main body cover 2 is closed. Is lifted and opened to make the photoconductor 7 usable for the image forming process.
[0027]
FIG. 7 shows the structure of the photoreceptor 7 and the photoreceptor cover 8, and the positional relationship between these and the guide hole 1a. The photoconductor cover 8 is urged by a spring (not shown) so as to cover the photoconductor 7, and completely covers the photoconductor 7 when the main body cover 2 is opened as shown in FIG. .
[0028]
Further, the photosensitive member cover 8 is provided with a protrusion 9 having a flat surface 9a facing the lower end of the guide hole 1a at the end on the guide hole 1a side. As shown in FIG. When open, the protrusion 9 is positioned directly beside the bent portion of the guide hole 1a. Although not shown here, on the lower end side of the protrusion 9, the fitting portion 5a of the lever 5 penetrates the guide hole 1a from the outside, and the flat surface 9a has the fitting portion 5a. It corresponds to the cylindrical part of the penetration destination.
[0029]
FIG. 8 shows an operation in which the fitting portion 5a of the lever 5 lifts the photoreceptor cover 8 when the main body cover 2 is opened. As shown in (a) of this figure, when the main body cover 2 is opened, the fitting part 5a of the lever 5 moves to the vicinity where the guide hole 1a is bent, and the cylindrical part protruding to the back side of the figure. , Abuts against the flat surface 9a of the protrusion 9. As shown in (b), when the fitting portion 5a further moves to the upper end, the photoconductor cover 8 is pushed by the protrusion 9 and rotates counterclockwise, and the flat surface 9a is below the guide hole 1a. It is held where it is parallel to the periphery of In (b), the main body cover 2 is in a completely closed state, and the plane 9a is parallel to the lower peripheral edge of the guide hole 1a, so that the stop position of the fitting portion 5a in the guide hole 1a is The photoreceptor cover 8 can be held at a fixed position even when moving back and forth slightly, and in this respect as well, high-precision positioning of the main body cover 2 and the like is unnecessary. Since the photosensitive member cover 8 is urged clockwise by the spring as described above, it can return to its original position when the main body cover 2 is opened.
[0030]
