近年、情報の入出力操作を誰でも簡易に行なうための手段として、タッチパネルを用い表示面と入力面とを同一軸上に重ねた表示入力装置が盛んに開発されている。

以下図面を参照しながら、上記した従来の表示入力装置の入力方法の一例について説明する。図6は従来の表示入力装置の入力部を示すものである。図6において、11は表示面、12は入力面、13は制御部、14は指示部である。入力面12としては液晶表示板のような平面表示装置が使用されている。入力面12は透明なガラス、またはフィルムであり、入力面12の下にある表示面11を見ることができる。

上記問題点を解決するために本発明の表示入力装置は、入力指示表示部を入力対象座標を指示する指示部と指示部の移動操作を行なう保持部と操舵部指示部から離れた場所に設けたカーソルによって表示するようにしたものである。これによって、指示部を移動させる保持部と操舵部が指示部とは離れて設けてあるので、保持部や操舵部に置いた指やペンなどによって、指示部が覆い隠されて指示部の位置が不確かになることがない。したがって、正確に希望の座標を指示できる。
