本発明は、流し台用ゴミ収納器、特に台所の流し台のコーナー部に置いて使用する三角コーナーや、流し台の排水口内に取付けて使用するストレーナーに適したゴミ収納器に関する。

従来の流し台のゴミ収納器としては、プラスチック製、ステンレス製材料で構成されたものが広く用いられている。また、近年、ぬる、ぬめり等の発生、付着抑止を目的として銅製、抗菌プラスチック製、または抗菌ステンレス製材料のゴミ収納器が提供されている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
このうち、抗菌プラスチック製のゴミ収納器では、材料中に混入される銀系等の抗菌剤が数%、また、抗菌ステンレス製のゴミ収納器でも材料中に添加される銅は約3%と微量であるため、銅製のものより抗菌作用が劣り、ぬめりによる水切孔の目詰まりが早期に生じやすい。一方、銅製のゴミ収納器は、抗菌プラスチックまたは抗菌ステンレス製のものより格段に抗菌作用に優れているため、目詰まりも起こりにくいが、使用中に銅表面が酸化して変色する。特に、三角コーナーは頻繁に散水と乾燥を繰り返すので変色が著しく、台所の美観を損ねかねない難点がある。

そこで、本発明の目的は、長期にわたって目詰まりが生じにくく、かつその間の使用によって変色し難い流し台用ゴミ収納器を提供することにある。

【課題を解決するための手段】
前記目的を達成するために、本発明は、銅または銅合金で構成される収納器の表面に被覆層を有し、収納器を貫通する複数の水切孔が、水切孔内で銅または銅合金が露出するよう形成されて成ることを特徴とする流し台用ゴミ収納器を提供する。これにより、ゴミ収納器表面は被覆層で保護されているため従来の変色は抑止される一方、水切孔内で露出した銅または銅合金の抗菌作用により孔内の菌の繁殖が抑制され、ぬめりによる目詰まりも長期間防止される。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、本発明の実施の形態を図面を引用しつつ説明する。

図1は本発明の流し台用ゴミ収納器の一形態である三角コーナーの例を示し、図2はその一部を拡大して示す。図1に示すように、ゴミ収納器本体1にはそれを貫通する複数の水切孔3を設けている。ここで、ゴミ収納器本体1は、図2に断面を示すように、銅または銅合金の板材11の表面に所定の厚さの被覆層12を具備する一方、ゴミ収納器本体1すなわち被覆層12、銅または銅合金の板材11および被覆層12を貫通する各水切孔3内においては、水切孔3の内面中央部で銅または銅合金の板材11の表面が露出している。

かかる形態によれば、ゴミ収納器本体1表面は被覆層12で保護されているため、従来みられた散水、乾燥の繰返しによる銅または銅合金の変色は抑止される。それのみならず、水切孔内で露出した銅または銅合金の板材11による銅イオンの抗菌作用に基づき、水切孔3内の菌の繁殖が抑制され、ぬめりによる目詰まりも長期間防止される。

被覆層12には亜鉛、錫が好ましい。これは、亜鉛メッキまたは錫メッキが低コストで被覆層を形成するうえで有利だからである。このうち亜鉛は、金属イオンの抗菌作用が水銀>銀>銅>亜鉛>鉄鉛>ビスマスメッキの順であるといわれている(「ヘルスケア用材料開発の新展開」(株)東レ リサーチセンター、72頁)ように、銅に次いで抗菌作用に優れているため、亜鉛の被覆層自体が抗菌作用を加重的に発揮してゴミ収納器全体のぬめり発生防止に寄与するためより有利である。錫はそれ自体に抗菌作用はないと推測されるが、銅または銅合金表面へメッキした際密着性がよく、かつ変色し難く見栄えもよい。被覆層12の厚さは5〜20μm程度が好適である。

水切孔3は、銅板または銅合金の板材11表面に被覆層を有するものを打抜き加工(パンチング加工)して形成すれば、水切孔3内に銅または銅合金の露出表面を効率良く設けることができ有利である。所望の水切孔3を形成した後、図1のような形状にかしめ成形加工により仕上げることができる。

水切孔3のゴミ収納器本体1に占める割合(開口率)は40%以上とし、銅または銅合金の露出面積を高めて必要な抗菌作用を確保することが好ましい。

なお、ゴミ収納器の銅または銅合金の板材11表面の被覆層12のみを機械的にまたは化学的、物理的に除去する微細な孔加工(例えば、ビーム放射)を付加的に施すことで、銅または銅合金の露出面積を更に増加させるようにしてもよい。

【実施例】
本発明の流し台用ゴミ収納器について、その一実施例を以下詳細に説明する。

厚さ約0.5mmの99.96%銅製の板材11表面に厚さ5μmの亜鉛メッキよりなる被覆層12を形成した。これに直径約1mmの水切孔3を開口率46%となるようパンチング加工して、水切孔3内で銅表面を露出させた。そして、かしめ成形加工により図3に示す形状の流し台用ストレーナーを得た。

本発明ストレーナーの変色、ぬめり付着と水切孔の目詰まり状況について試験した。比較例として、すべて抗菌ステンレスで構成されたストレーナーを用意し、一般家庭を模した流し台の使用状況で両者を14日間使用した。流し台での使用方法は、ストレーナー内にゴミを捨てるだけで、たわし、スポンジ等でのぬめり除去は行わず使用を継続することとした。

その結果、比較例では、変色はないものの、ぬめりの付着により14日目には水切孔が完全に目詰まりし排水不可となったのに対し、本発明では、変色はなく、しかもぬめりもほとんど発生せず、目詰まりは生じなかった。

本発明によれば、銅または銅合金で構成される収納器の表面に亜鉛メッキまたは錫メッキの被覆層を有し、収納器を貫通する複数の水切孔が、水切孔内で銅または銅合金が露出するよう形成されて成るため、長期にわたって目詰まりが生じにくく、かつその間の使用によって変色し難い流し台用ゴミ収納器を提供できる。
