Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a cutting tool such as a throw-away tip used for cutting and a manufacturing method thereof, and more particularly, to a cutting tool with a wear sensor provided with a sensor line for detecting wear of a cutting blade and a manufacturing method thereof.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, methods for detecting the life of a cutting tool by utilizing thermal, mechanical, and electrical changes of the cutting tool have been studied. For example, in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 9-38846, a cutting tool in which a comb-shaped conductive band (thin film circuit) is formed on the surface of a base material is produced, and the conductive band (thin film circuit is cut while cutting the work material with this cutting tool. A method for determining the tool life by measuring the electrical resistance value of
[0003]
In addition, the present applicant has proposed a throw-away tip in which a sensor circuit having a sensor line is formed on the surface of a base material, for example, in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2001-121310, and thereby sensing the life of the tip while cutting. Disclosed that it is possible.
[0004]
Further, as a method of forming such a sensor circuit on the surface of the base material, a method of directly depositing and forming the sensor circuit using a mask pattern of the sensor circuit shape by a known thin film forming method such as a CVD method or a PVD method, A method of forming a sensor circuit by forming a conductive layer on the entire surface of a base material and then removing unnecessary portions using laser processing is known.
[0005]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, among the conventional methods for forming a sensor circuit, in the method of directly forming a sensor circuit using a mask pattern, the edge of the circuit pattern cannot be sharpened and a large sag occurs. There is a problem that the dimensional variation of the sensor line is large, the variation of sensing becomes large, and a fine circuit cannot be formed, and the circuit design is limited.
[0006]
On the other hand, in the method of forming a sensor circuit by laser processing on a conductive layer formed on the entire surface, the time required for laser processing becomes longer as the circuit becomes more complicated, and the orientation of the base material is changed during laser irradiation, However, there is a problem that the irradiation source must be multi-directional and complicated in the process.
[0007]
The present invention has been made in order to solve the above problems, and in a cutting tool having a sensor circuit capable of accurately detecting the tool life and a manufacturing method thereof, a sensor having high sensing accuracy and high design freedom. It is an object of the present invention to provide a cutting tool capable of easily forming a circuit and a manufacturing method thereof.

[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, the cutting tool of the present invention is a sensor comprising a conductive band in the vicinity of the cutting edge on the side surface , with the crossing edge portion of the main surface and side surface of the base material having a substantially flat plate shape as the cutting edge. provided with a line, in a cutting tool to form a sensor circuit including the sensor lines to said main surface and said side surfaces, when the width of the surface side of the sensor circuit and w 1, the width of the back side was set to w 2 The ratio of w 1 / w 2 of the sensor circuit on the side surface of the base material is larger than the ratio of w 1 / w 2 of the sensor circuit on the main surface of the base material.
[0009]
Further, the main surface of the base material is Ri polygonal der, together with the surface relief into a plurality of said sides are made form each respective corners and two of the clearance surface adjacent to the main surface intersecting It is desirable to form the sensor line and to make a region over the crossing edge portion of the base material of the sensor circuit lower than the height of the cutting edge.
[0010]
The manufacturing method of the cutting tool of the present invention has an intersection ridge portion between the main surface and the side surface of the base material having a substantially flat plate shape as a cutting edge, and provides a sensor line made of a conductive band in the vicinity of the cutting edge on the side surface. the method of manufacturing a cutting tool for forming a sensor circuit including the sensor lines to said main surface and said side surfaces, to form a sensor circuit of the main surface by a thin film forming method using a mask, the sensor circuit of the side The conductive film is formed on the side surface and then formed by a laser processing method.

Particularly, when a YAG laser having a wavelength of 1.06 μm is used, a width of 30 to 60 μm is drawn at an output of 5 to 50 kHz and 9.0 to 25.0 A. Irradiation scanning at a speed of 50 to 300 mm / s is desirable in that it can form a fine and accurate line and can cope with a wide variety of base materials and coatings.

【The invention's effect】
As described above in detail, according to the cutting tool of the present invention, the side walls of the sensor circuit side of the base material from that from sharply formed side walls of the sensor circuit of the base material main surface side, the side surface in the laser processing method together can form the main surface can be formed by a thin film forming method, even in the side surface of the narrow base material in area, with a good sensor circuit of the sensing accuracy can be formed at high density, the main surface of the wide base material in area, easier In addition, the sensor circuit can be formed at high speed.
[0038]
Further, according to the method for manufacturing a cutting tool of the present invention, a flank (side) sensor circuit including a sensor line that requires dimensional accuracy and high density wiring pattern is formed by laser processing, and By forming the sensor circuit formed on the main surface by a thin film forming method using a mask, laser processing is only on the side surface, so that the center of the main surface of the chip is the axis with one laser light source fixed. A sensor circuit can be formed only by rotating the chip, and a sensor circuit with good sensing accuracy can be formed easily and in a short time.
