Description
【0001】

The present invention relates to a thermal insulation panel including an outer porous envelope surrounding a block of compressed microporous thermal insulation material.
[0002]
Here, the term “microporous” material means that the maximum size of cells or gaps is smaller than the mean free path of air molecules at NTP (standard temperature and pressure), ie about 100 nm (nanometer) or less. It is used as a porous or cellular material. Microporous materials defined in this way exhibit very low heat transfer due to air conduction (ie collisions between air molecules). Such microporous materials comprise, for example, aerogels, ie gels whose liquid phase is converted to the gas phase in such a way as to remove the shrinkage that occurs when the gel is dried directly from the liquid. Substantially the same structure can be obtained by controlling precipitation from solution, and the temperature and pH are controlled during precipitation to obtain an open lattice precipitate. Other suitable powders with an equivalent open lattice structure are pyrogenic or electrothermal type particulate materials often referred to as fumed, most of these particles being less than 100 nm maximum Has a particle size. For example, these particulate materials based on silica, alumina or other metal oxides can be used to produce microporous compositions as defined above.
[0003]
Microporous thermal insulation materials are typically mixed with fiber or filament reinforcements, opacifiers such as titanium dioxide, and a small amount of alumina powder to provide shrinkage resistance during high temperature use. It consists of a dry particulate microporous material defined as follows.
[0004]
Hand-held sheets and shaped structures made of microporous thermal insulation materials are well known. For reasons of cost effective manufacturing technology, a particularly advantageous form in construction is the microporous thermal insulation panel as shown in cross section in FIG. 1 of the accompanying drawings. The thermal insulation panel includes a compressed microporous
[0005]
The porous nature of the envelope is important during the manufacture of thermal insulation panels. That is, the powdered microporous thermal insulation material is injected into the envelope from one open edge. This edge is then sealed and then pressure is applied to the outside of the envelope to compress the thermally insulating material, in which case air is expelled through the porous material of the envelope. The degree of porosity of the envelope material affects the uniformity of the density of the compressed thermal insulation material and also affects the dust permeability of the final product. In this latter case, the envelope material of the woven glass cloth has a very low permeability compared to the particulate material that constitutes the microporous thermal insulation material, and thus has a substantially dust-free surface. Insulating panels can be manufactured.
[0006]
It has been confirmed that the thermal insulation panel constructed by the method described above can be used satisfactorily in many applications. However, it has been found that such thermal insulation panels have problems when mounted on warm or hot surfaces.
[0007]
That is, when such a thermal insulation panel is attached to a hot surface, the thermal insulation panel bulges, that is, the thermal insulation panel is like a balloon as shown in cross section in FIG. 2 of the accompanying drawings. As a result, it was found that the thermal insulation panel was no longer flat and rigid.
[0008]
Investigation of this phenomenon reveals that the compressed microporous

Therefore, when the
[0011]
This swelling of the thermal insulation panel is undesirable. This is because the expansion of the thermal insulation panel causes the panel to rupture, and it is difficult to repair the panel by applying a layer of another material.
[0012]
The material of the
[0013]
The object of the present invention is between a microporous thermal insulation material and a surface exposed to a higher temperature of the envelope, i.e. a surface exposed to a temperature that is exposed to other surfaces (e.g. the opposite surface). In addition, the above-described problems are eliminated by providing a means for preventing gas pressure from being generated.
[0014]
That is, according to the present invention, the first and second outer surfaces facing each other, an envelope at least partially of a porous material, and exhaust means are included, the envelope being compressed microporous heat. In the thermal insulation panel surrounding the block of insulation material, the exhaust means includes a boundary region between the microporous thermal insulation material and the envelope on the first outer surface of the thermal insulation panel, and a second of the thermal insulation panel. The outer surface communicates with the outside and is closed in the region of the first outer surface of the thermal insulation panel, whereby the exhaust means releases gas from within the thermal insulation panel and There is provided a thermal insulation panel characterized in that foreign matter is prevented from entering the exhaust means through the outer surface of 1.
[0015]
The foreign material is, for example, cement, mortar, adhesive, or the like used to attach the thermal insulation panel so that the first outer surface of the thermal insulation panel is in contact with the high temperature surface of the component or structure. Unfavorable material.
[0016]
According to one embodiment of the present invention, the exhaust means includes at least one opening, which is at least from the open opening end outside the second outer surface of the thermal insulation panel. The microporous thermal insulation material on the first outer surface and extends through the thermal insulation panel to the inner surface of the envelope in the boundary region between the envelopes. Also, for ease of manufacture, the at least one opening extends through the envelope on the first outer surface of the thermal insulation panel and covers the area of the first outer surface of the thermal insulation panel. Covered by. If desired, cover means can also be provided outside the envelope at the open open end. If two cover means are provided, at least one of them must be permeable to air.
[0017]
Furthermore, the cover means consists of a patch, for example of the same material as the envelope, which is fixed to the outside of the envelope by means of adhesive.
[0018]
The at least one opening extends from the outside of the panel on the second outer surface of the thermal insulation panel.
[0019]
Further, the exhaust means may include at least one notch provided in the edge region of the thermal insulation panel, instead of the opening described above, and this notch is provided outside the thermal insulation panel. There is communication between the microporous thermal insulation material on the first outer surface of the panel and the boundary region between the envelopes. In order to prevent foreign matter from entering, at least a part of the notch or cover means for each notch is provided outside the envelope at least in the region of the first outer surface of the thermal insulation panel. . If the cover means extends over the entire notch, the cover means must be permeable to air. The cover means is made of, for example, a patch made of the same material as the envelope and fixed to the outside of the envelope by an adhesive means.
[0020]
Also, if desired, a plurality of exhaust means can be provided.
[0021]
In addition, at least a portion of the envelope may be a porous material, such as a woven glass material that is inherently porous, or a plastic or metal foil in which a number of appropriately sized pores are formed into a porous material. It is required to be made from materials.
[0022]
Although the porosity of such envelope material is appropriately selected and the microporous thermal insulation material substantially prevents the passage of gas, particularly air, the envelope material can be permeable to gas.
[0023]
When the thermal insulation panel of the present invention is attached to a structure for thermal insulation purposes and the first outer surface of the thermal insulation panel contacts the hot surface of the structure, the first outer surface of the thermal insulation panel Generation of gas pressure in the boundary region between the microporous heat insulating material and the envelope is prevented by providing exhaust means in this portion. The gas that generates the gas pressure is air or ambient gas surrounding the thermal insulation panel.
[0024]
Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in detail by way of examples described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
