Description

【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a paint structure.
[0002]
[Prior art]
As shown in FIG. 2, for example, the front window 1 of the vehicle is mounted on an upper end edge 3 a as an opening of the front panel 3 via a weather strip 2. As shown in FIG. 3, the front panel 3 is provided with a base coat 5 and a top coat 6 on a steel plate 4 which is a body metal. In such a mounting structure of the front window 1, the weather strip 2 moves up and down due to vibration or the like during traveling, and the lip portion 2 a contacting the front panel 3 and the front panel 3 are relatively displaced, whereby the front panel 3. The coatings 6 and 5 applied to the surface of the steel plate are gradually peeled off to expose the underlying steel plate 4, and rust is generated. Therefore, conventionally, as a countermeasure, a protective tape 7 is adhered to the front panel 3 side of the portion where the weather strip 2 contacts the front panel 3 with an adhesive 8 to prevent peeling of the coating on the front panel 3. It was.
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
By the way, since the conventional protective tape 7 is applied after the top coat of the front panel 3 is applied, the protective tape is used when the user repaints the vehicle body for a reason such as changing the color of the vehicle body to another color, for example. 7 is difficult to adhere to the surface of 7 and repainting is difficult. This is because the top coat of the surface of the protective tape 7 is applied even at a normal temperature, but in the normal temperature drying, the adhesion after drying is poor, and when it is dried at a high temperature to improve the adhesion after drying. This is because the adhesive 8 melts and flows down. Moreover, since it is difficult to repaint the surface of the protective tape, there are problems such as poor appearance after repainting.
[0004]
For this reason, an object of the present invention is to provide a coating structure that facilitates the coating of the surface of the protective tape that is attached to the metal side of the portion where the weatherstrip contacts the metal.
[0005]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, according to the present invention, the protective tape comprises a tape base material made of a transparent thermoplastic resin member and a thermosetting adhesive applied to the lower surface of the tape base material, and the protective tape Is applied to the vehicle body before the top coat is applied, and the top coat is applied over the protective tape and dried at a high temperature. The adhesive bonds the protective tape to the vehicle body without flowing down due to high temperature drying. The top coat is satisfactorily applied to the surface of the protective tape by high temperature drying. The protective tape can be easily repainted on the topcoat by applying the topcoat closely to the surface.
[0006]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, exemplary embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 1 is a partially enlarged sectional view of a state in which a protective tape is attached to a front panel as a body metal to which a coating structure according to the present invention is applied.
As shown in FIG. 1, the protective tape 10 is composed of a tape base material 11 and an adhesive 12. The tape base material 11 is formed of a thermoplastic resin member such as transparent polyethylene terephthalate (PET), and has good coating adhesion at a high temperature (about 150 ° C.). A thermosetting adhesive 12 is applied to the back surface of the tape substrate 11 as an adhesive surface. Examples of the thermosetting adhesive include acrylic modified unsaturated polyester resin.
[0007]
Examples of the thermoplastic resin member as the tape substrate 11 include polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), vinyl chloride resin, polyurethane resin, polyamide and the like in addition to the polyethylene terephthalate. The tape substrate 11 is preferably transparent and white.
The painting procedure is described below.
[0008]
As shown in FIG. 1, after a base coat 5 is applied to a steel plate 4 of a front panel 3 as a body metal, a protective tape 10 is attached to the base coat 5 with an adhesive 12. When the intermediate coating is performed after the undercoating, the protective tape 10 is attached after the intermediate coating. Next, the top coat 6 is applied from the top of the protective tape 10 and then placed in a high temperature drying chamber. Although the temperature in the high-temperature drying chamber is about 150 ° C., by making the adhesive 12 thermosetting, the adhesive 12 is adhered without melting and flowing down. As described above, the protective tape 10 has good coating adhesion at a high temperature (about 150 ° C.), and the top coating applied to the surface improves the adhesion after high-temperature drying. Thus, by making the adhesive 12 thermosetting, the step of applying the protective tape 10 can be set before the top coating, and the top coating of the surface of the protective tape 10 can be performed.
[0009]
As described above, the protective tape 10 is attached to the front panel 3 at a portion that contacts the lip portion of the weather strip, thereby preventing the steel plate 4 from being exposed even if the top coat 6 is peeled off. And rust is prevented.
And it becomes easy to apply other paints on the top coat 6 when the top coat 6 is satisfactorily applied to the surface of the protective tape 10. As a result, even when the user repaints the user's favorite color from the top of the protective tape 10 (user painting) and dries at a normal temperature, the adhesion of the paint to the protective tape 10 after drying is improved and the appearance is improved. To do.
[0010]
Further, by making the tape base material 11 of the protective tape 10 transparent, even when the top coat 6 is peeled off, the undercoat 5 can be seen through, so that a sense of incongruity is reduced .
[0011]
【The invention's effect】
According to the present invention, by applying a thermosetting adhesive for the protective tape that is attached to the metal side of the portion where the weatherstrip contacts the metal, the protective tape application process can be performed before the top coating. It becomes possible, and the surface of the protective tape can be painted . The surface of the protective tape is then well-coated so that it is easy to apply another paint on the top-coated surface. ) and improved adhesion of the coating to the protective tape after drying, even when dried at usual temperature and also improved appearance after recoating with the repainting by a user is facilitated. Further, even when the top coat is peeled off due to relative displacement between the vehicle body and the lip portion of the weather strip, the undercoat can be seen through, so that a sense of incongruity is reduced.
