In the case of the steering column support device described above, when the collision occurs, it acts as follows to secure the driver's living space. That is, in the event of a collision accident, a secondary collision in which the driver collides with the steering wheel occurs following a primary collision in which the automobile collides with another automobile or the like. [Problems to be solved by the invention]
Incidentally, in the case of the conventional steering column support device shown in FIGS. 9 to 10 used in the cab-over type automobile as described above, the forward displacement of the steering wheel at the time of the collision is determined by the driver's posture. The front adjustment position of the steering wheel when adjusting the front and rear position of the steering wheel in accordance with the above is the limit. On the other hand, Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 62-86274 describes a structure in which the lower part of a steering column of a cab-over type automobile is supported so as to be displaceable rearward when a strong impact load is applied. In the case of the structure described in this publication, when a forward impact load is applied to the steering wheel due to a secondary collision, the steering column rotates about the horizontal axis provided at the top, and the steering wheel The wheel is allowed to move forward to protect the driver. However, in the case of the structure described in this publication, it is difficult not only to adjust the position of the steering wheel, but also to ensure both the support rigidity of the steering column and the enhancement of driver protection.
[0010]
The reason why it is difficult to achieve both the support rigidity of the steering column and the enhancement of driver protection is as follows. That is, in the case of the structure described in this publication, the steering column plastically deforms the energy absorbing member that supports the lower portion of the steering column while rotating around the horizontal axis provided at the upper portion during the secondary collision. At this time, based on the relationship between the distance from the horizontal axis to the steering wheel and the distance from the horizontal axis to the energy absorbing member, the load for plastically deforming the energy absorbing member is determined from the impact load applied to the steering wheel. It is difficult to enlarge. If the distance from the horizontal axis to the energy absorbing member is reduced, the load for plastically deforming the energy absorbing member can be increased. However, the distance between the upper and lower two points supporting the steering column is shortened. Support rigidity is lowered. In order to secure a distance from the horizontal axis to the energy absorbing member and to reliably displace the lower portion of the steering column rearward in the event of a secondary collision, a material that is easily plastically deformed must be used as the energy absorbing member. Don't be. Since the energy absorbing member that easily undergoes plastic deformation has to be low in rigidity, the support rigidity of the steering column is also low.
[0011]
In view of such circumstances, the present invention can freely adjust the position of the steering wheel, secure the support rigidity of the steering column for supporting the steering wheel, and provide the driver with a second collision. The idea is to realize a structure that can enhance protection.
[0012]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The steering column support device according to the present invention has a pair of left and right support plate portions, like the conventional steering column support device described above, and a support bracket fixed to the vehicle body and the pair of support plate portions. And a pair of support brackets that are fixed to the outer peripheral surface of the intermediate portion of the steering column and are sandwiched between the pair of support plate portions, and the pair of supports. A long hole in the front-rear direction formed in a position that is aligned with each other in a part of at least one of the plate part and the coupling plate part, and provided in a state of penetrating the displacement bracket in the left-right direction, A hook-like member having both end portions inserted into the inside of the elongated hole, and an engagement / disengagement means provided at an end of the hook-like member to fix and release the displacement bracket with respect to the support bracket.
[0013]
In particular, in the steering column support device of the present invention, The steering column is oscillated and displaced about a horizontal axis provided below the steering column in accordance with the displacement of the hook-shaped member along the long holes. or, One end of each of the long holes is provided with an extension that extends in a direction in which the displacement bracket can be displaced further forward than a position corresponding to the foremost position where the displacement bracket can be adjusted. And by making the width dimension of the extension part smaller than the outer diameter dimension of the hook-like member, the hook-like member is prevented from entering the extension part depending on the force applied to the displacement bracket at the normal time. Yes. However, when a larger force is applied, a part of the plate part in which the elongated hole is formed is plastically deformed to widen the width of the extension part, and the hook-shaped member extends beyond the foremost position to extend the extension part. It is allowed to enter.
For this purpose, for example, a pair of long holes are formed in the matching portions of the pair of support plate portions constituting the support bracket, the front end of the long hole is a narrow portion, and the other portions are wide. Part. The bolt that joins the support bracket and the displacement bracket can be displaced with a light force at the wide portion, but can enter the narrow portion only when a large force is applied.
Further, a slit-shaped through-hole is formed in a side portion of the support plate portion which is provided with the extension portion, and the displacement bracket is adjusted in parallel or substantially in parallel with the long holes. It is formed over the entire length of the extension from the position corresponding to the foremost possible position.
[0014]
[Action]
By the steering column support device of the present invention configured as described above, the front / rear position of the steering wheel is adjusted in accordance with the physique and driving posture of the driver, or the steering wheel is displaced forward at the time of a secondary collision, The operation for securing the driver's living space is the same as that of the conventional steering column support device described above. In particular, in the steering column support device of the present invention, in the event of a collision, the saddle-like member enters the extension of the long hole beyond the position corresponding to the foremost position where the displacement bracket can be adjusted. The amount of forward displacement of the wheel increases. That is, in the event of a collision accident, a force larger than the force that is normally applied to the displacement bracket is bracket As a result, the extension portion is plastically deformed by the hook-shaped member, and the width of the extension portion is increased.
[0015]
As a result, the bowl-shaped member enters the extension portion. For this reason, the amount of forward displacement of the steering wheel at the time of a collision is increased, and the protection of the driver can be further enhanced. Further, when the bowl-shaped member enters the extension part, the plate part formed with the elongated hole including the extension part is plastically deformed, so that it is transmitted from the steering wheel to the bowl-like member via the steering shaft and the steering column. Absorbs impact energy. As a result, the impact applied to the driver's body hitting the steering wheel can be reduced, and the driver can be protected. On the other hand, since the hook-shaped member does not enter the extension portion at normal times, the amount of displacement of the steering wheel is excessive, and adjustment of the front-rear position of the steering wheel is not troublesome.
[0016]
Furthermore, in the case of the steering column support device of the present invention, it is possible to secure the support rigidity of the steering column for supporting the steering wheel while enhancing the driver protection function performed as described above. Become. That is, according to the steering column support device of the present invention, the support device of the present invention can be configured, and a long hole for displacing the steering wheel forward at the time of a secondary collision can be provided in the upper portion of the steering column. . When the long hole is provided in the upper part of the steering column as described above, the horizontal axis for supporting the steering column so as to be swingable is provided in the lower part of the steering column. Therefore, when the steering column is about to swing and displace around the horizontal axis at the time of a secondary collision, the saddle-like member is not attached to the steering wheel regardless of the distance between the saddle-like member and the horizontal axis. A load greater than the applied load is applied. As a result, even if the distance between the bowl-shaped member and the horizontal axis is increased and the rigidity of the plate portion formed with the elongated hole including the extension portion is increased, the steering wheel is directed forward at the time of a secondary collision. The driver can be smoothly displaced to sufficiently protect the driver.

To do. For this reason, it is possible to more reliably prevent a large impact from being applied to the driver's body during a collision. That is, the steering wheel will not be displaced forward before the driver's body is restrained by the seat belt. On the other hand, at the normal time, the

【The invention's effect】
Since the steering column support device of the present invention is configured and operates as described above, in the event of a collision, the steering wheel is moved forward beyond the limit of the steering wheel position to protect the driver. To be displaced. Accordingly, it is possible to sufficiently protect the driver at the time of collision without troublesome position adjustment work. In addition, the position of the steering wheel can be adjusted freely, and a structure that can secure the steering column support rigidity to support the steering wheel can be realized, so that other performance can be sacrificed to protect the driver.
