上記目的を達成するために本発明は,回転する給紙ローラと,該給紙ローラと離接可能に設けられたリフト板と,該リフト板上のシート材を前記給紙ローラに弾性付勢するコイルバネとを具備するシート材の供給装置において,前記コイルバネの変形範囲が該コイルバネの弾性変形の範囲内となるように,該コイルバネの一端部に該コイルバネの伸縮方向に平行な方向に伸びた規制部を設けたことを特徴とするシート材の供給装置である。
これにより,利用者等によって前記リフト板が押え付けられた場合でも,前記コイルバネが弾性変形の範囲内でしか変形しないので前記コイルバネにヘタリが生じない。
また、規制部の自由端は折り曲げ部を形成することが好ましい。
