SCU(スキャナコントロールユニット)23は、スキャナ装置全体をコントロールする。

[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In the conventional image forming apparatus, in a normal operation in which a user operates while looking at the scanner side display unit, the printer side display unit is hidden under the scanner side display unit. When confirming, it is necessary to squat down and look at the printer side display unit. Further, in the above image forming apparatus, when the user makes an operation instruction and confirms the situation, the display information displayed on the scanner side display unit and the printer side display unit will be caught. For this reason, if a user who is not familiar with it is used, it causes confusion and results in a user interface that is difficult to understand. In particular, when the display capability of the display unit provided on the scanner side and the display unit provided on the printer side are different, the method of expressing information displayed on each display unit is different, which may cause further confusion. It has become. Further, the image forming apparatus described above is capable of performing independent and independent processes in parallel between the scanner apparatus and the printer apparatus. However, the scanner apparatus is temporarily used for periodic inspection and repair of the scanner apparatus. When the printer is removed from the printer device, it is impossible to operate the printer device alone unless special operation settings are made by a specific administrator such as a service person. Furthermore, when a new scanner device is to be added to an environment where the image forming processing system is configured by a single printer device, no special operation setting by a specific administrator such as a service person is performed in the same manner as above. As long as it is not possible to operate the printer device in combination with the scanner device.
