この種の目地カバー装置にあって、目地の中央に配設した中央のカバー板と、該カバー板に端部を重ね合わせて目地の側部に配設した左右のカバー板との三枚のカバー板によって目地を覆うようにしたものは公知である。

かかる目地カバー装置は、図6に示すように、隣接する建造物x,xの壁面に夫々固定された固定体a,a’と、該両固定体a,a’に夫々左右方向に回動可能に嵌着された連結体b,b’と、一方の連結体bに固着されて目地方向に差し渡された摺動腕cと、他方の連結体b’に固着されて目地方向に差し渡された支持腕dと、背面に固定された鞘枠eの摺動路fに前記摺動腕cが端部から摺動可能に嵌挿され、かつ、前記支持腕dにより背面を支持された中央カバー板gと、前記連結体b,b’に外端が固定され、その内端部を前記中央カバー板g上に重ね合わせて配設した左右一対の端部カバー板h,h’とを備えている。

かかる構成の目地カバー装置にあっては、上述のように三枚のカバー板によって目地カバーを構成しているため、その追従性能に限界がある。即ち、中央カバー板gに対する各端部カバー板h,h’の左右方向の移動量は、図6に示す位置から夫々外方向に幅Aの範囲となり、また、内方向には幅Bの範囲となる。このため、その移動許容量を越えて建造物が左右方向に大きく相対変位した場合に対応できず、目地カバー装置と建造物との固定部において建造物を損傷させたり、あるいは、目地カバー装置自体が損傷したりすることがあった。

また、かかる構成で左右方向の移動許容量を大きくしようとすると、目地カバー装置全体の横幅Wが大きくなってしまい、該目地カバー装置が目立って建造物の外観を損ねるという問題点があった。

本発明は、
