この発明は、合成樹脂で単層に形成したインストルメントパネル本体の背面側所定位置にエアバッグ装置本体が配設され、該エアバッグ装置本体のエアバッグ突出部に対向する前記インストルメントパネル本体の背面に薄肉のヒンジ溝と開裂溝とによってエアバッグ膨出用リッド部が区画形成された車両用エアバッグ装置に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
従来のこの種のものとしては、例えば、実開昭63ー101255号公報に記載の図3に示すようなものがある。

図中の符号1はインストルメントパネルであり、エアバッグ飛出開口2を有する合成樹脂製の基板11と、発泡体で形成された中間層12と、この中間層12の表面に形成された塗装膜13との三層で一体に構成されている。

また、エアバッグ飛出開口2は、その開口2の周縁の三辺を形成する薄肉部11aと、その他の一辺11cとで略矩形を呈し、またエアバッグ飛出開口2は、薄肉部11aの各辺に沿い且つ中間層12に向かって突出する突起部11bと、薄肉部11cを覆うように中間層12の中に介装させた織布14とを備えている。

一方、エアバッグ飛出開口2に対向するインストルメントパネル1の背面側には、図示省略のエアバッグ装置本体が配設されており、このエアバッグ装置本体に収納されたインフレータの作動によりエアバッグが展開すると、このエアバッグから受ける膨張圧により、基材11に設けた薄肉部11aの各辺が開裂されこの薄肉部11aに設けた突起部11bで中間層12と塗装膜13とを切り裂く。そして、図中下部の薄肉部11cと織布14とをヒンジとしてエアバッグ飛出開口2を開成しエアバッグは車室内へと膨出される。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら、このような従来のものにあっては、インストルメントパネル1の断面構造が三層の組合せで構成されているため、材料の種類並びに生産工程が多くコストが高くなるという問題があった。

また、中間層12内に織布14を介装させて薄肉部11cのヒンジとしての補強が行なわれているが、この中間層12は型内へ発泡材料を注入し成形する際、発泡倍率がバラつき不均質に成り勝ちであり、その中間層12に介装させた織布14の接着強度にバラつきが発生するという問題があった。

また、単層に形成したインストルメントパネル本体22においては、このパネル本体22の背面に形成された薄肉のヒンジ溝24aと開裂溝24bとによってリッド部24が区画形成されているため、表面側から押されたり衝撃を受けたりすると、この溝24a,24bから変形するという新たな問題が生じる虞れがあった。

そこで、この発明は、バラつきなく安定してリッド部の開成ができ、しかもインストルメントパネル本体に表面側から荷重がかかっても変形が防止され、また生産性がよく安価である車両用エアバッグ装置を提供することにある。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記の目的を達成するために、請求項1に記載された発明は、合成樹脂で単層に形成したインストルメントパネル本体の背面側所定位置に

請求項1に記載の構成によれば、この補強ブラケットにより、リッド部を区画形成した車両用エアバッグ装置は表面側から押されたり衝撃を受けたりしても変形を防止することができる。 また、この補強ブラケットの開口部は、エアバッグが展開膨張して行くガイドの役目も果たし、エアバッグはリッド部の正常な内面側の位置に当接することができる。

【発明の実施の形態】
本発明の車両用エアバッグ装置の実施の形態を図1及び図2に基づいて説明する。

まず、構成を説明すると図1において、符号21は車両用エアバッグ装置であり、22は合成樹脂で単層に成形されたインストルメントパネル本体で、このインストルメントパネル本体22の助手席側の背面側の所定位置にはエアバッグ膨出用のリッド部24が設けられている。このリッド部24は、ヒンジ溝24と三辺の開裂溝24bに区画されて略矩形に形成されている。

図2(a)において、このリッド部24の三辺を形成する薄肉部である開裂溝24bは正面視略U字状に形成され、他の一辺であるヒンジ溝24aも開裂溝24bと略同様の薄肉部に形成されている。

また、このリッド部24に設けられた各溝24a,24bの外側近傍には複数のボス部22aが突設されている。そして、このボス部22aに補強ブラケット25が締結されている。

この補強ブラケット25は、インストルメントパネル本体22と同じ合成樹脂で成形されており、複数の止め孔25bを配設した基部25cと、この基部25cからリッド部24背面に向けて角錘状に立ち上げたフランジ25dとから構成され、このフランジ25dの先端は、リッド部24の内側に当接できるように略矩形の開口部25aに形成されている。

エアバッグ装置本体23の作動によって突出部23aからエアバッグ23bが展開すると、このエアバッグ23bは膨張しリッド部24に圧接してリッド部24の開裂溝24bを開裂(I段階)させ、エアバッグ23bはさらに膨張してリッド部24を押し広げ(II段階)、さらにエアバッグ23bは膨張してヒンジ溝24aをヒンジとしてリッド部24を開成させて車室内に膨出(III段階)する。

【発明の効果】
以上説明してきたように、請求項1に記載された発明は、前記エアバッグ装置本体から膨出するエアバッグが挿通しうる開口部を有し、該開口部周縁を前記開口溝で区画される前記リッド部の内側面に当接してなる補強ブラケットが設けられたことにより、車両用エアバッグ装置の表面側から押されたり衝撃を受けたりしても、補強ブラケットが当接しているので変形が止められる。また、この補強ブラケットの開口部はエアバッグが展開膨張して行くガイドにもなり、リッド部背面を正確に圧接することができ正規の開成につなげる役目を果たす。

さらに、リッド部はインストルメントパネル本体と一体の合成樹脂の単層品で形成されているいるので、一回の射出成形によりリッド部の開裂溝やヒンジ溝とを同時に形成でき成形精度がよい。したがって、リッド部の開成精度も向上し安定したものとなる。

また、インストルメントパネル本体は、リッド部が一体でかつ全て単一材料で成形されているので経年後のリサイクル品としての回収も行い易い。
