本発明は、画像データと識別データとを送信して画像データのプリントを依頼することが可能なカメラに関するものである。

【従来の技術】
従来、送信機能付き電子カメラ、及び受信機能付き記録装置に関して、例えば、特開平5−167965号公報には、以下のような旨の開示がある。
送信機能を有する電子カメラにて撮影を行った後、撮影によって得られた画像データを離れた場所にある記録装置に送信することにより、多量の画像データを電子カメラ内に記憶する必要がなくなり、この電子カメラに大きな容量の記憶媒体を搭載しなくてもよいという技術が記載されている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら、上記特開平5−167965号公報に記載された技術では、撮影した画像データを記録装置に送信した後、プリントする手法を開示していなかった。したがって、画像データをプリントするためには自分で高価なプリンタを購入してプリントしたり、1度フロッピーディスクなどのメディアにデータを記録して、DPE店などで行っているディジタルラボサービスにこのメディアを持って行きプリントする必要があった。

そこで本発明は、上記課題に鑑みてなされたものであり、送信機能付きカメラにて撮像された画像データ及び識別情報を遠隔地にあるプリント装置に送信することにより、撮影者が適時に希望するプリントを依頼できるカメラを提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記目的を達成するために、本発明のカメラは、撮影した画像をディジタルデータに変換する撮像手段と、撮影駒数を記憶するメモリと、上記撮像手段で変換された上記ディジタルデータ、プリント依頼者を識別するコード、及びプリント依頼先を指定するコードを送信して上記画像のプリントを依頼する送信手段と、上記送信手段を介して上記画像のプリントを依頼したときに上記メモリに記憶された上記撮影駒数をリセットするリセット手段とを備えたことを特徴とする。

すなわち、本発明のカメラでは、撮影した画像を撮像手段でディジタルデータに変換し、送信手段により上記ディジタルデータ、プリント依頼者を識別するコード、及びプリント依頼先を指定するコードを送信して上記画像のプリントを依頼することができるとともに、画像を送信した後に撮影駒数をリセットするので、送信されていない画像の駒数を正しく認識することが可能となる。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、図面を参照して本発明の実施の形態を説明する。
まず、本発明の理解を容易にするために、本発明に係るカメラ・プリントシステムの概念について説明する。

図1は、本発明に係るカメラ・プリントシステムの概念的な構成を示すブロック図である。
このカメラ・プリントシステムは、送信機能を有する撮像装置であるカメラ1と、このカメラ1から送信された情報を受信する受信機能を有するプリント装置2から構成される。

さらに上記カメラ1は、被写体を撮影してその画像をディジタルの画像データに変換する撮像部10と、この画像データを圧縮するデータ圧縮部12と、ユーザID情報を入力するID入力部14と、上記ユーザID情報と圧縮された画像データとを送信用信号に変換する送信信号形成部16と、上記送信用信号を送信する送信部18とからなる。

上記プリント装置2は、上記カメラ1から送信された送信用信号を受信する受信部20と、上記ユーザID情報を判別するID判別部22と、ユーザID情報ごとに画像データを記憶する記憶部24と、プリントを開始するかどうかを判断するプリント開始判定部26と、このプリント開始判定部26の指示により上記画像データをプリントするプリント部28とからなる。

このように構成されたカメラ・プリントシステムにおいては、撮像された画像は直接プリント装置2に送られ、プリント開始判定により自動的にプリントされる。このため、撮影者は、例えば旅行で撮影した写真を帰宅途中にプリント装置2のある自宅の近くのDPE店などに立ち寄って受け取ることができる。

次に、本発明に係る実施の形態のカメラ・プリントシステムについて説明する。
図2は、実施の形態のカメラ・プリントシステムの構成を示す具体的なイメージ図である。

撮像装置であるカメラ1は、電子カメラにモデムと電話器が内蔵されたものである。カメラ1により撮影された画像データは、PHS方式などの電話方式で近くの受信ポイント30に送られ、そこからパソコン通信などのアクセスポイント32に接続されてデータが送られる。アクセスポイント32では、受信したユーザIDコード、送信先IDコード(DPE店などのIDコード)がチェックされ、データベース34に上記データが送信先IDコード別にファイルされる。

データベース34とプリント装置を所有するDPE店36は通常LANで接続されており、このDPE店36は上記ユーザIDコードごとにデータを吸い上げ、プリント開始判定があると、プリント38の作成を開始する。

なお、上記データの送信方式はPHS方式に限らず、他の方式を用いてもかまわない。上記データベース34はパソコン通信時のものでなくとも、プリントシステムの専用データベースを使ってもかまわない。上記DPE店は、コンビニエンスストア、スーパーマーケットなどの中にあってもかまわない。また、上記LANは、電話回線、ケーブルテレビ回線などであってもよい。

図3は、上記カメラ1の構成を示す図である。
RISC型マイクロコンピュータなどからなりカメラ1全体の動作を制御する制御部40には、レンズ42により結像された被写体像をディジタルの画像データに変換する撮像部10と、上記画像データを一次記憶し、かつ上記画像データをデータ圧縮するときのバッファメモリ及び圧縮データの記憶場所である画像メモリ44と、上記画像データから作成された画像の表示及び後述するカメラ1の状態や、警告などを表示する表示部46と、後述するユーザIDなどを入力するID入力部14と、EEPROMやフラッシュメモリなどからなり撮影駒数などを記憶する不揮発性メモリ48と、モデム機能及び電話機能などを有しデータ送信を行う送信部18とが接続される。

さらに上記制御部40には、このカメラ1の動作を開始させるためのパワースイッチ(以下PWSWと記す)50と、撮影を開始させるためのレリーズスイッチ(以下RSWと記す)52と、プリント開始をプリント装置2へ送信するためのプリント指示スイッチ(以下PSWと記す)54とが接続される。

なお、上記制御部40は、RISC型マイクロコンピュータからなっているが、これに限るわけではなく、スピードが早ければ他のCISC型マイクロコンピュータでも良い。上記不揮発性メモリ48は、大容量の場合には上記画像データの圧縮データを記憶しても良く、この場合はカメラ1の電源を切ってもデータは保持される。

また、上記送信部18は、モデム機能及び電話機能を有さず、これらをカメラ1と別体にして、カメラ1に接続するようにしてもよい。さらに、モデム機能及び電話機能を制御部40に内蔵してもよい。

図4は、上記ID入力部14へのユーザID情報入力をIDカードにより行う例を示した図である。
接点56を有するIDカード58をカメラ1のID入力部14に挿入することにより、後述するようなIDカード58に記憶されたユーザID情報をプリント装置2へ送信可能となる。

IDカード58は、プリント装置2を所有するDPE店などと契約した場合に撮影者に渡される。このIDカード58は、フラッシュメモリ、EEPROMなどを内蔵する。IDカード58に記憶されるユーザID情報の内容は、例えば、後述する図10に示すような、撮影者を識別するためのユーザIDコードや、データが送られて来たときに本人かどうかを確認するためのユーザパスコード、DPE店がチェーン店であり全国にある場合等の契約店(通常は自分の家の近くの店)を示すDPE店IDコード、さらにそれらのデータに誤りがないかどうかを調べるためCRC及びパリティコードなどのチェックコードなどからなる。

なお、上記ユーザIDコードとしては、絶対、二重に登録されることがないナンバー、例えば、電話番号などを用いるとよい。
次に、上記カメラ1の動作について説明する。

図5は、上記カメラ1の動作としての制御部40の処理を示すフローチャートである。
パワースイッチ(PWSW)50がオンされると、まず、制御部40はユーザIDコードがセットされているか否かを判定する(ステップS1)。ユーザIDコードがセットされていないときは、データ送信ができないため表示部46に「IDコードなし」の表示を行い(ステップS2)、PWSW50がオフになっているか否かを判定する(ステップS11)。ここで、PWSW50がオフになっているときは、本処理を終了する。一方、PWSW50がオフでないときは、ステップS1へ戻りステップS1の判定を繰り返す。そして、この間にユーザIDコードがセットされたときは、ステップS3へ移行する。

上記ステップS3では、制御部40はレリーズスイッチ(RSW)52がオンかオフかを判定する。RSW52がオンのときは、撮影を行い(ステップS4)、撮像部10によりディジタル化された画像データを画像メモリ44に転送する(ステップS5)。

次に、制御部40は上記画像データをJPEG、またはその他の方式により圧縮し(ステップS6)、画像メモリ44または不揮発性メモリ48に記憶する空領域があるか否か、すなわち、記憶するための余裕があるか否かを判定する(ステップS7)。余裕がないときは、ユーザID情報と圧縮した画像データとをプリント装置2へ送信して(ステップS8)、ステップS9へ移行する。一方、余裕があるときは、データの送信を行わず、ステップS9へ飛ぶ。

上記ステップS9では、不揮発性メモリ48に記憶されている撮影駒数をインクリメントし(ステップS9)、このインクリメント後の撮影駒数を不揮発性メモリ48に記憶しなおす(ステップS10)。なお、この撮影駒数は、プリント依頼コードを送ったときにリセットされ、上記ステップS8にてデータが送信されるときに、一緒に送信される。

一方、上記ステップS13にて撮影駒数が“0”でないときは、未転送の圧縮した画像データがあるか否かを判定する(ステップS15)。未転送のデータがないときは、ユーザID情報とプリント依頼コードを送り(ステップS16,S17)、不揮発性メモリ48に記憶された撮影駒数をリセットして(ステップS18)、ステップS10へ移行する。未転送のデータがあるときは、ユーザID情報と圧縮した画像データを送信した後(ステップS19)、プリント依頼コードを送信し(ステップS17)、不揮発性メモリ48に記憶された撮影駒数をリセットして(ステップS18)、ステップS10へ移行する。

上記ステップS10では、リセット後の撮影駒数を不揮発性メモリ48に記憶しなおす(ステップS10)。続いて、制御部40はPWSW50がオフになっているか否かを判定する(ステップS11)。PWSW50がオフになっているときは、本処理を終了する。一方、オフでないときは、ステップS1へ戻りステップS1以降の処理を繰り返す。

モードスイッチ(MSW)60がオンされると、割込みによりこのフローチャートがスタートする。まず、制御部40は表示部46にID入力モードになったことを表示する(ステップS21)。

このプリント装置2の全体の動作を制御するプリント制御部70には、通信回線72から来たデータをディジタルデータに変換するモデム74と、受信した画像データを記憶する画像記憶部76と、後述する図12に示すようなデータが記憶されているユーザID記憶部78と、画像記憶部76に記憶された画像データから画像をプリントする画像プリンタ80と、メディアへの書き込みを行うメディア書き込み部82とが接続される。

記憶されるデータは、撮影者を識別するためのユーザIDコード、データが送られて来たときに本人かどうかを確認するためのユーザパスコード、その他撮影者の希望としてメディア出力を希望するか否か、同時プリント枚数、さらにプリント用紙種類、例えば用紙サイズや光沢/きぬ目など、さらに、プリントした結果の郵送を希望するか否かなどである。

上記ユーザIDコードはプリンタ装置2を所有するDPE店などと契約すると登録され、本発明のサービスが受けられるようにすばよい。メディア書込み部82は、メディア書込みが希望されたとき、すなわち、メディア出力ありに設定されたとき、メディアに書込みを行う。このメディアとは、画像データを記憶するためのフロッピーディスク(FD)や、ミニディスク(MD)、光磁気ディスク(MO)、フォトCDなどを示す。

図13は、上記プリント装置2の動作としてのプリント制御部70の処理を示すフローチャートである。
まず、プリント制御部70は通信開始時間が来たか否かを判定する(ステップS31)。ここで、通信開始時間が来たときは、データベース34と通信を行う。なお、上記通信開始時間は、通常、1日に何回か定期的におとずれ、そのときに通信が行われるものとする。通信を開始させる他の方法としては、データ量が一定量以上蓄積されたとき、またプリント依頼コードが送られたときに、データベース34側からこの装置を起動してもよい。

上記ディジタルデータを圧縮するデータ圧縮手段と、
上記ユーザID情報及び上記圧縮された画像のディジタルデータを送信用信号に変換する送信信号形成手段と、
上記送信用信号を送信する送信手段と、
を有する送信機能付きカメラと、
上記送信された送信用信号を受信する受信手段と、
該受信手段の受信した信号からユーザID情報を判別しユーザID情報に対応して画像データを記憶する記憶手段と、
該記憶手段に記憶された上記画像データのプリントを開始するか否かを判定するプリント開始判定手段と、
上記プリント開始判定手段によりプリント開始と判定した場合、上記画像データをプリントするプリント手段と、
を有する受信機能付きプリント装置と、
からなることを特徴とするカメラ・プリントシステム。
(2) 上記ID入力手段により入力された上記ユーザID情報は、外部装置から入力されて不揮発性メモリに記憶されることを特徴とする上記(1)に記載のカメラ・プリントシステム。
(3) 上記ID入力手段により入力されたユーザID情報は、外部の電話回線から入力されて不揮発性メモリに記憶されることを特徴とする上記(1)に記載のカメラ・プリントシステム。
(4) 上記ID入力手段に入力されるユーザID情報にユーザ識別用のユーザIDコードがセットされていない場合、カメラ撮影を禁止にすることを特徴とする上記(1)に記載のカメラ・プリントシステム。
(5) 上記送信機能付きカメラは、プリント指示するプリント依頼コードを送信するプリント指示手段を有し、
上記プリント装置は上記プリント依頼コードを受信すると、上記プリント開始判定手段に基づき、上記プリント手段により上記記憶手段に記憶されている画像データをプリント出力することを特徴とする上記(1)に記載のカメラ・プリントシステム。
(6) 上記プリント開始手段は、最後に受信した画像データ信号から一定時間経過した場合、上記プリント手段によりプリントを開始することを特徴とする上記(1)に記載のカメラ・プリントシステム。
(7) 上記プリント装置は、ユーザのプリント出力希望項目を記憶するユーザID記憶手段を有し、その内容に基づきプリント可能としたことを特徴とする上記(1)に記載のカメラ・プリントシステム。
(8) 上記プリント出力希望項目は、プリントサイズ、同時プリント枚数、プリントの受取り方法、メディア出力の要否、出力メディア種類のうち少なくとも1つを含むことを特徴とする上記(7)に記載のカメラ・プリントシステム。
(9) 上記出力メディアの種類は、FD、MD、MO、フォトCDのうち少なくとも1つを含むことを特徴とする上記(8)に記載のカメラ・プリントシステム。
(10) 上記プリント装置は、画像データを記憶メディアに書き込む書き込み手段を有することを特徴とする上記(1)に記載のカメラ・プリントシステム。

【発明の効果】
以上述べたように本発明によれば、送信機能付きカメラにて撮像された画像データ及び識別情報を遠隔地にあるプリント装置に送信することにより、撮影者が希望するプリントを適時に依頼できるカメラを提供することが可能である。
