携帯用無線機等の電子機器の防水構造は、従来、例えば図3に示すように、電子機器のケース本体11に固定されるシャーシ12の側縁の全周にわたって形成された溝12aに、断面が円形のゴム製オー(O)リング13を嵌め込んだものがある。
また、図4に示すように、フィン14bを有するゴム製パッキング14をその溝14aにシャーシ12の側縁を嵌合させた防水構造もある。

しかしながら、図3の防水構造では次のような問題がある。

【発明の実施の形態】
図1は、本発明にかかる電子機器の防水構造の一実施例を示す分解斜視図である。図1において、1はケース本体、2はシャーシ、3はゴム製パッキング、4はプリント基板である。
シャーシ2にはその縁付近にほぼ全周にわたって取付用リブ2aが形成され、また、適所にネジ穴2b,2c及び2dが形成されている。
パッキング3は、シャーシ2の外形にほぼ近似した枠型に形成され、シャーシ2の取付用リブ2aが嵌合される嵌合溝3a1が形成された取付部3aと、取付部3aからシャーシ2の側縁に沿って次第に肉薄になるテーパー状に延設された延設部3bと、ネジ穴3cとからなる。

本発明によれば、次のような効果が得られる。
(1)パッキングの防水に役立つ延設部の外広がりの形状のため、ケース本体への挿入が容易である。
(2)パッキングをつぶさないためケース本体の開きが発生しない。
(3)パッキングが容易に取付けられて、なおかつ安定してケース本体に接触する。(よじれなどが発生しない。)
(4)ケース本体とシャーシの嵌合寸法の誤差を吸収できる。
(5)従来のOリング型パッキングに対し、ケース本体等とのクリアランスがシビアではなく、許容範囲が広い。
(6)シャーシの取付用リブにパッキングの嵌合溝を合わせて位置決めをし、その上にプリント板を載せてネジ止めすることにより、シャーシとプリント基板の間にパッキングをはさみこんで固定できる。
