本発明は、柱状のワークを切断したり、或いはその外周もしくは、内周に周溝を形成する為に用いる切削工具に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
上記切削工具として、従来より、図5に示すように先端上面に切刃31を備えたチップ32の後端部を押さえ板33でもってホルダ34の先端横面に凹設したチップ座部35に圧接固定するタイプの切削工具30が用いられている。

この切削工具30は、チップ座部35の背面36側が機械から露出するように設置されるので、上記背面36から固定ネジ37を挿入し、押さえ板33に設けた螺子孔38と固定ネジ37の先端部を螺着することにより、押さえ板33をチップ座部35に向けて引き込み、その結果、押さえ板33がチップ32をホルダ34のチップ座部35に圧接固定するようになっていた。

ところが、上記従来の切削工具30は押さえ板33と固定ネジ37が前記螺子孔38内でのねじ溝嵌合のみ係合したものであったため、引き込み力を十分大きくすることができず、また、力が前記螺子孔38近傍の非常に狭い領域のみにしか作用しないため、チップを圧接固定する力が部位により不均一に伝わり、チップ32の固定が不安定となり、高荷重の切削に際しては、ビビリ振動や、それによるチップ32やホルダ34の破損の原因となるなどの問題点があった。

上記従来技術の問題に鑑み、本発明は、柱状のワークを切断したり、或いはその外周もしくは、内周に周溝を形成する為に用いる切削工具において、チップ固定力が大きく、ビビリ振動が発生し難いことを特徴とする切削工具を提供することを課題とする。

前記従来技術の課題を解決するため、本発明の切削工具は、角柱状ホルダの先方に突出させた幅細の下顎部上にスローアウェイチップを載置し、上記下顎部の後側近傍位置に凹設したポケット内に2個の固定ネジでもってブレード状の押え金具を嵌合固定して該押え金具に備える上顎部により前記スローアウェイチップの上面を押圧し、上下顎部間でスローアウェイチップを挟持する構成において、上記押え金具とホルダの上記ポケットのそれぞれ水平位置に前記固定ネジ用の2個の貫通孔と2個の螺子孔を備えるとともに押え金具の貫通孔の間に下面から垂直方向に延びるスリットが形成され、スローアウェイチップ装着時に上記スリットが拡がり押え金具の先側が下方に、後側が後方にそれぞれ引き込まれるよう前記貫通孔と螺子孔の中心軸位置を偏心させたことを特徴とする。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、本発明の実施形態を図によって説明する。

図1は本実施形態の切削工具1の分解斜視図であり、この切削工具1は焼き入れした工具鋼や超硬などからなる角柱状ホルダ(以下、ホルダと略称する)2のの先方に突出させた幅細の下顎部2a上にスローアウェイチップ(以下、チップと略称する)5を載置し、上記下顎部2aの後側近傍位置に凹設したポケット4内に2個の固定ネジ8でもってブレード状の押え金具6を嵌合固定して該押え金具6に備える上顎部6aにより前記チップ5の上面を押圧し、上下顎部(2a、6a)間でチップ5を挟持するよう構成した切削工具1である。同図に示すように、この切削工具1の上記押え金具6とホルダ2の上記ポケット4のそれぞれ水平位置に前記固定ネジ8用の2個の貫通孔7と2個の螺子孔10を備えている。

上記チップ5は、幅狭の略四角柱状をなし、上面の先端及び後端側それぞれに、切刃稜5aとこれに連続するすくい面5bが形成されたもので、両刃使いのチップとなっている。

上記押え金具の固定方法は次のとおりである。固定ネジ8を押え金具6に設けた貫通孔7に挿通し、さらに、ホルダ2の上記ポケット4からその背面9にかけて設けた螺子孔10に螺着し、固定ネジ8の大径のネジ頭11でもって押え金具6を押圧し、これにより押え金具6がチップ5を圧接固定するようになっている。

また、本実施形態の切削工具1は上述のように背面拘束型となっているが、本発明を背面拘束型の切削工具に限定する必要はない。ただし、上記切削工具1のように背面拘束型とする利点としては、固定ネジ8の回旋を背面9側から行えるので、ホルダ2を工作機械から取り外すことなくチップ5の交換が可能であるという点がある。

次に、図2は前記ホルダ2の上面図、また、図3は図1の切削工具を組み立てた状態を示す。説明の都合上、上記固定ネジを省略して示している。図3に示すように、押え金具6の貫通孔7の間に下面から垂直方向に延びるスリット6bを設けるとともに前記貫通孔7と螺子孔10とを距離dだけ偏心させた。偏心の方向はそれぞれ、先側の貫通孔7が螺子孔10に対して上方向で、後側の貫通7が螺子孔10に対して後方向である。また、前記押え金具6に設けた貫通孔7の中心軸とホルダ2に設けた螺子孔10の中心軸dを0.2〜0.5mm程偏心させ、そして、前記下顎部2aおよび上顎部6aのチップ当接面を後下方向に傾斜する斜面として形成した。

また、図4は図1の切削工具1の前面図であり、同図に示すように前記下顎部2aおよび上顎部6aのチップ当接面を凸V字状とし、対向するチップ5の拘束面を凹V字状となし、両者が横方向にズレることがないようにしている。なお、これら凸V字状および凹V字状部分の強度を十分大きくするため、V字角度としては90°以上であることが好ましい。また、拘束力の点から上記V字角度は150°以下であることが好ましい。
