TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention, when casting using a sliding nozzle that is disposed at the bottom of a molten steel container such as a tundish or ladle to control the flow rate of molten steel, prevents gas entrapment due to gas leak from the periphery of the outlet of the sliding nozzle into the molten steel. Also, the present invention relates to a method for sealing a sliding nozzle for molten steel casting capable of producing a cast piece with few defects.
[0002]
[Prior art]
During the casting of molten steel using the sliding nozzle, the molten steel flow path formed at the outlet of the sliding nozzle is narrowed by the sliding operation of the sliding plate. Is negative with respect to the atmospheric pressure around the sliding nozzle.
For this reason, the atmospheric gas is entrained in the molten steel through the joint of the sliding nozzle and the refractory around it, and invades into the molten steel as bubbles and oxidizes the molten steel, and when the molten steel is solidified, pinholes or the like are formed. This is a factor that causes defects.
As a method for preventing the leakage of the atmospheric gas, for example, Japanese Unexamined Patent Application Publication No. Hei 4-22545 discloses a method in which the lower

The present invention has been made in view of such circumstances, and it is an object of the present invention to provide a method of sealing a sliding nozzle for molten steel casting, which can suppress gas leak during casting and can efficiently produce a slab with few defects. With the goal.

[Means for Solving the Problems]
A method of sealing a sliding nozzle for molten steel casting according to
When the viscosity of the sealing material at the operating temperature is lower than 10 3 poise, and the sealing material with the sliding movement of the sliding nozzle, liable to readily flow out, it is difficult to stably maintain the gas seal effect.
On the other hand, if the viscosity of the sealing material is higher than 10 11 poise, the sealing with the surface of the lower fixed plate or the sliding plate in contact with the sealing material becomes unreliable, and the amount of leak gas increases, which is not preferable.
