【0001】

Description of the Related Art Conventionally, an image forming apparatus that includes a plurality of image forming units, forms visible images (toner images) of different colors in each image forming unit, and sequentially superimposes and transfers these toner images onto the same recording material, a so-called image forming apparatus Various color image forming apparatuses have been proposed, and among them, an electrophotographic color image forming apparatus is frequently used. In such an electrophotographic color image forming apparatus, a plurality of image forming units, generally four image forming units, are arranged side by side, and a dedicated photosensitive drum is used as an image carrier of these image forming units. A yellow, magenta, cyan, and black visible image, that is, a toner image, is separately formed on a drum, and each color is sequentially formed on a recording material carried and conveyed by a recording material carrying unit including, for example, a dielectric belt. The toner images are superimposed and transferred, and the multiple toner images on the recording material are collectively heated and fixed by a fixing device to obtain a required full-color image or multi-color image.
