このような用紙先端の押圧手段としては、これまで、用紙押えローラや用紙押え板を用いるようにしてきたが、前者では用紙を滑らかに押圧しながら導いてゆくことができる反面、ローラの径を小さくするのに限度があるため、用紙を浮き上がらせることなくその先端を印字ヘッドの上手側直前位置まで導いてゆくことはできず、また後者では、印字ヘッドの上手側直前位置まで用紙の先端を浮き上がらせることなく導くことができる反面、用紙毎にその押圧力を調整することがむずかしいため、特に厚手の用紙を使用したような場合には紙送りに多大の負荷がかかってしまうといった問題を有している。

本発明はこのような問題に鑑みてなされたもので、その目的とするところは、紙厚の如何に拘りなく、印字ヘッドの上手側直前位置まで用紙の先端を円滑に導くことのできる新たなプリンタの紙押え機構を提供することにある。

【課題を解決するための手段】
すなわち、本発明はこのような課題を達成するためのプリンタの紙押え機構として、紙送りローラの軸線と平行にかつ印字ヘッドの紙搬送方向上手側直近に列状に設けた紙押え板上の窓孔内に配設された複数の小径かつ短寸の紙押えローラと、長手方向中央部に作用するばね部材の付勢力により両端に保持した紙押えローラを紙送りローラに向けて押圧する複数のローラ軸とによって構成したものである。
