TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a UV absorber having a high molecular weight and excellent UV absorbability in a wide wavelength range. More specifically, a benzotriazole UV absorber is bonded to a dimeric structure of a benzophenone UV absorber via a methylene group. The present invention relates to an ultraviolet absorber having a small volatility, which has a structure in which the ultraviolet absorber is provided.
[0002]
[Prior art and problems]
It is known that polymer materials such as polyethylene, polypropylene, styrene-based resin, polyvinyl chloride, and polyester are deteriorated by the action of light, cause discoloration or decrease in mechanical strength, and do not withstand long-term use.
[0003]
Agricultural films, intraocular lenses, photographic filters, etc., are required to selectively block harmful wavelengths of light. It was difficult to control the wavelength of light.
[0004]
Further, dyes and pigments used for thermal paper, paints, photographic materials, dyed fiber materials, and the like have a problem that they are easily discolored or discolored by ultraviolet rays.
[0005]
Therefore, in order to prevent the deterioration of these organic materials and to control the wavelength of the transmitted light, various ultraviolet absorbers have been conventionally used. As these ultraviolet absorbers, benzophenone-based, benzotriazole-based, 2,4,6-triaryltriazine-based and cyanoacrylate-based ultraviolet absorbers are known.
[0006]
However, when these ultraviolet absorbers are kneaded during processing of the resin, part of the ultraviolet absorber is volatilized by being exposed to a high temperature during processing, the effectiveness is reduced, and the remaining ultraviolet absorber is also used for a long time. Volatilizes and loses its effect when used. Also, when applied to fibers, they are extracted by washing and lose their efficacy, so that satisfactory long-term light resistance has not been obtained. In addition, when used in an intraocular lens or the like, an ultraviolet absorber that is difficult to extract from the viewpoint of safety has been desired. Therefore, as a UV absorber having a high molecular weight and a small volatility, a polymerizable UV absorber is disclosed in JP-A-62-81376 and JP-A-50-74579 and JP-A-61-118373. Has proposed a dimerized ultraviolet absorber.
[0007]
Further, ultraviolet absorbers are roughly classified into limited basic structures as described above, and the absorption wavelength range is practically insufficient because the maximum absorption wavelength and the molar extinction coefficient greatly depend on the basic structure. The problem of the absorption wavelength range was the same for the dimerized ultraviolet absorber.
[0008]
As an ultraviolet absorber having a wide absorption wavelength range, JP-A-6-321918 proposes an ultraviolet absorber having a benzophenone structure and a benzotriazole structure in combination. Sex was insufficient. Therefore, there has been a demand for an ultraviolet absorber having a high molecular weight, low volatility, and a high absorption capacity in a wide wavelength range.
[0009]
[Means for solving the problem]
The present inventors have conducted intensive studies in view of the above situation, and as a result, a high molecular weight ultraviolet absorber represented by the following general formula (I) has excellent ultraviolet absorbing ability, extraction resistance and volatilization properties, The inventors have found that excellent light fastness is imparted over a long period of time, and arrived at the present invention.
[0010]
That is, the present invention provides a high molecular weight ultraviolet absorber represented by the following general formula (I).

The method for synthesizing the compound represented by the general formula (I) of the present invention is not particularly limited. After dimerizing the benzophenone compound, the benzotriazole compound is bound with formaldehyde, or the benzotriazole and benzophenone compound are combined. May be combined with formaldehyde and then dimerized. The method of bonding a benzotriazole compound to a dimerized benzophenone compound is preferable from the viewpoint that the number of moles of the benzotriazole compound bonded can be selected from either 1 or 2 moles and the reactivity.

Particularly useful in the required fields.
[0041]
Typical materials constituting the organic material stabilized by the ultraviolet absorber of the present invention are synthetic resins. Usually, the ultraviolet absorber of the present invention is added to these resins in advance and molded and processed as a resin composition. It is made into various products. Further, elastomers such as isoprene rubber, butadiene rubber, acrylonitrile-butadiene copolymer rubber, and styrene-butadiene copolymer rubber may be used.
[0042]
The resin composition may contain other general-purpose additives such as antioxidants and stabilizers, if necessary.
[0043]
Particularly preferred examples of these additives include phenol-based, sulfur-based, phosphite-based antioxidants, hindered amine-based light stabilizers, and ultraviolet absorbers other than the specific ultraviolet absorber of the present invention. In particular, hindered amine-based light stabilizers represented by 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine compounds are preferable because they exhibit a synergistic effect with the ultraviolet absorber of the present invention.

【Example】
Next, the present invention will be described specifically with reference to examples, but the present invention is not limited to the following examples.
[0053]
(Example 1)
According to the composition shown in Table 1 below, extrusion was performed at 250 ° C. to produce pellets. Next, a test piece having a thickness of 2 mm was prepared by injection molding at 250 ° C. The test pieces were subjected to a weather resistance test using a sunshine weatherometer with a rain cycle of 18 minutes in 120 minutes at a black panel temperature of 83 ° C. The durability of the weather resistance was evaluated by the yellowness after 1000 hours and 2000 hours from the start of the test. Further, the time until crack generation was measured as the weather resistance time. The results are shown in Table 2 below.
