2. Description of the Related Art A sheet molding compound (SMC) molded product obtained by compressing a thermosetting resin into a mold cavity surface shape is a pinhole (fine hole) on the surface at the time of compression molding. Since it is apt to occur, the surface of the pinhole is often covered thereafter to conceal the pinhole.

However, there is a problem that it is difficult to obtain a good molded product because pinholes are easily generated in the coating film formed by the coating. Therefore, in recent years, an in-mold coat molding method (IMC) has been proposed as a method for solving the above problem. In this in-mold coating method, an SMC molded product is compression-molded using a mold, and then the mold is slightly opened, resulting in a paint in the gap between the surface of the SMC molded product and the mold cavity surface. Is injected, and then the mold is closed and pressure is applied for a predetermined time to integrally form a coating film on the surface of the SMC molded product (JP-A-4-125118).

According to this in-mold coat molding method,
The paint is pressed into pinholes (fine holes) generated on the surface of the SMC during compression molding, and a molded product covered with a smooth coating film is obtained. Moreover, there is an advantage that pinholes do not occur in the coating film.

By the way, a resin molded product such as SMC is made of an optimum material according to its application. Therefore, a RIM molded product may be suitable instead of the SMC molded product. This RIM molded product is a known reaction injection (RIM) molding machine in which a RIM raw material divided into two systems, a polyol component and an isocyanate component, is caused to collide at high pressure and the RIM raw material after the collision is discharged into a mold. It is molded by using.

Also in this RIM molded product, since pinholes are easily generated on the surface, it is necessary to form the coating film by painting the surface after taking out from the mold. However, the coating film on the surface of the RIM molded product formed by painting also has a problem that pinholes are likely to occur as in the SMC molded product. Therefore, also in this RIM molded product, if the in-mold coat molding method can be applied, a molded product having no pinhole in the surface coating film can be easily obtained, which is extremely convenient.

There are two inventions of the present application,
A first aspect of the invention is to fill a cavity in a mold with a RIM raw material to mold an RIM molded product, and then perform RIM in the mold.
At the time of forming a coating film on the surface of the RIM molded product by injecting a paint from the paint injection hole of the mold into the gap between the surface of the RIM molded product and the cavity surface caused by shrinkage of the molded product,
The mold is provided with a paint injection hole opening on the cavity surface, and on the side of the cavity surface facing the paint injection hole, there is provided an engaging portion molding space projecting outward at the edge of the cavity. A cavity including a molding space is filled with RIM raw material to mold a RIM molded product engaged with the engaging portion molding space, and the RIM molded product and the engaging portion molding space are contracted when the RIM molded product contracts. The engagement prevents the RIM molded product from contracting and closing the paint injection hole while contacting the cavity surface on the paint injection hole side.
The present invention relates to an in-mold coat molding method for M molded products.

Next, RIM performed using the mold 20.
The in-mold coat molding method of the molded product will be described.
First, from the RIM raw material injection nozzle 52 shown in FIG.
The cavity 41 is filled with M raw material. As shown in FIG. 4, the filled RIM raw material 11 a fills the product part molding space 42, the paint injection part molding space 43 and the engaging part molding space 44 of the cavity 41 and immediately cures to mold the RIM molded product 11. The RIM molded product 11 molded in the mold 20 shrinks as the curing reaction proceeds, as shown in FIG. At that time, the RIM molded product 11 has the molded product shape and the upper mold 2
As shown in FIG. 7, due to the temperature difference between 1 and the lower mold 31,
There is a risk that the RIM molded product 11 may contract to the cavity surface 22 of the upper die 21 while shrinking toward the upper die 21 side to close the paint injection hole 23 opened in the upper die cavity surface 22.

However, the RIM molded product 11 has the lower mold cavity surface 32 facing the paint injection hole 23 as described above.
On the side, the engaging portion 15 is fitted and engaged with the engaging portion forming space 44 of the mold. Therefore, the RIM molded product 11 is the upper mold 21.
When it tries to contract to the side, the engaging part 15 engages with the engaging part forming space 44 and acts like a lever, and prevents the RIM molded product 11 from contracting to the upper die 21 side. As a result, as shown in FIG. 8, at least in the vicinity of the paint injection hole 23, the surface of the RIM molded product 11 and the upper mold 21 cavity surface 22
A gap 45 is created between them. The gap 45 is usually 20 to 60, although it depends on the in-mold coating material used.
About μm is preferable.

Next, as shown in FIG. 9, the paint injection hole 2
The in-mold coat paint 12a is applied from the paint injection nozzle 51 inserted in the nozzle 3 to the cavity surface of the upper mold 21 and RI.
It is injected into the gap 45 between the surfaces of the M molded product 11. At this time, since the paint injection hole 23 is not blocked by the surface of the RIM molded product 11, the injection of the in-mold coating paint 12a is not hindered, and the surface of the RIM molded product 11 is evenly covered with the in-mold coating paint 12a. .

As shown and described above, according to the molding method of the present invention, the paint is injected by utilizing the gap in the mold after the RIM molding due to the shrinkage of the RIM molded product. Like the mold coat molding method, SM
It is not necessary to raise and lower the upper mold after C molding to provide a gap between the upper and lower molds or pressurize, and a pinhole-free coating film can be formed on the surface of the RIM molded product by an extremely simple operation. Moreover, since the paint injection hole of the mold is not closed when the RIM molded product is contracted, the coating of the paint into the mold is not obstructed and a coating film of constant quality is always formed on the surface of the RIM molded product. You can also Further, according to the mold of the present invention, there is an effect that the molding method can be efficiently performed.

1. A RIM raw material is filled in a cavity in a mold to form a RIM molded product, and then RIM in the mold is performed.
When a paint is injected into the gap between the surface of the RIM molded product and the cavity surface caused by the shrinkage of the molded product through the paint injection hole of the mold to form a coating film on the surface of the RIM molded product, A paint injection hole is provided in the cavity surface, and an engaging portion molding space that projects outward is provided at the edge of the cavity on the side of the cavity surface facing the paint injection hole. Is filled with RIM raw material to form a RIM molded product that is engaged with the engaging portion molding space, and when the RIM molded product contracts, the RIM molded product and the engaging portion molding space are An in-mold coat molding method for an RIM molded product, characterized in that the RIM molded product is prevented from contracting and blocking the paint injection hole while being in contact with the cavity surface on the paint injection hole side.
