【発明の詳細な説明】 【0001】 【発明の属する技術分野】この発明は、オートバイの走
行風取入れ装置に関する。 【0002】 【従来の技術】オートバイは、両外側が後側に湾曲して
いて流線形のカウリングで、車体の前部を覆い、走行で
受ける風の抵抗を少なくするようにしている。カウリン
グには、図5に示すように、カウリングの上部部分であ
るアッパーカウルAの上部中央にヘッドランプBを取付
け、ヘッドランプBの両外側部分に空気取入口Cを設
け、この空気取り入れ口Cから走行で受ける風を受入れ
て、エンジンの吸気を過給したり(走行風過給)、冷却
風導入などに用いる種類のものがある。 【0003】又、図6に示すように、アッパーカウルA
の上部中央にヘッドランプBを取付け、中央のヘッドラ
ンプBの下側に、空気取入口Cを設ける種類のものもあ
る。 【0004】 【発明が解決しようとする課題】しかしながら、走行で
受ける風の動圧は、真正面に受けるアッパーカウルAの
中央が最も高く、後側に湾曲した外側になるに従って低
くなる。このため図5のものは、空気取入口Cが、外側
に近い個所にあって、取入効率がよくない。これに対し
て、走行動圧は車両幅方向の中心近辺が高くなるため、
図6のものでは、空気取入口CがアッパーカウルAの中
央にあって、動圧の高い風を取入れることができるが、
横長の偏平な形状で、取入れ面積が小さくなる。空気取
入口Cを大きくする程、ヘッドランプBの位置が高くな
り、これに伴って、ヘッドランプBの上側に取付けるス
ピードメーターなどのメーター類Dの位置が高くなり、
アッパーカウルAの上側に連結する透明スクリーンEの
内側に、メーター類Dが大きく突出して、具合が悪くな
る。又、ヘッドランプBが空気取入口Cおよびメーター
類Dによって上下高さが狭くなり理想的なリフレクター
形状が得られなかったり、逆に空気取入口Cが上下に狭
くなってしまう欠点があった。 【0005】かかる点に鑑み、この発明は、カウリング
の中央付近の動圧の高い場所から走行風を取入れること
ができるようにして走行風の取入効率がよく、かつ、ヘ
ッドランプの位置も高過ぎず、メーターが上側に突出す
ることもないオートバイの走行風取入れ装置を得ること
を目的とする。 【0006】 【課題を解決するための手段】上記目的を達成するため
に、この本発明のオートバイの走行風取り入れ装置は、
車体の前部を覆うカウリングの上部前面中央にヘッドラ
ンプを取り付け、ヘッドランプの前面レンズに中央部か
ら左右側端に向って徐々に深くなる横溝を形成し、横溝
の側端を、前方に向かって開口する空気導入口の中央側
の壁面に連ねるようにしたことにある。 【0007】カウリング中央部の走行で受ける風の高い
動圧の部分が、ヘッドランプの前面レンズの横溝に導か
れて空気導入口に流れるので、走行風の取入れる効率を
高くできる。そして、ヘッドランプは、カウリングへの
取付け位置の制約が少く、メーター位置も高過ぎないよ
うに取付けることができる。 【0008】 【発明の実施の形態】以下、本発明の実施の形態を図1
乃至図4によって説明する。なお、オートバイの全体構
成は、前記図5のオートバイに適用可能であるため、オ
ートバイの全体構成の図示は略する。オートバイにおい
て、車体1の前部を覆うカウリング2の上部前面中央の
窓孔3に、ヘッドランプ4の前面レンズ5を覗かせて取
付ける。ヘッドランプ4の前面レンズ5には、中央部か
ら左右側端に向って徐々に深くなる横溝6を形成する。
カウリング2のヘッドランプ4の左右側方には、壁面7
で後側に凹めて、空気導入口8を形成し、中央側の壁面
7を、ヘッドランプ4の前面レンズ5に形成した横溝6
に連ねるようにする。空気導入口8は、フロントステア
リング13の近傍を通る導入チューブ9で、エンジン1
4への吸気を濾過するエアークリーナー10に連結す
る。カウリング2の上端には、カウリング2と連続面の
透明スクリーン11を取付け、ヘッドランプ4の上側に
はメーター12を後向きに取付ける。 【0009】カウリング2の中央部が受ける高い動圧の
走行風は、ヘッドランプ4の前面レンズ5の横溝6を通
って、空気導入口8に受入れられる。そして、導入チュ
ーブ9を通って、エアークリーナー10に入り、エンジ
ンの吸気を過給する。こうして、効率よく、走行風を過
給に用いることができる。 【0010】又、ヘッドランプ4は、十分な大きさを確
保しつつ取付け位置が高くなることがなく、メーター1
2の取付け位置も高過ぎないようにできる。ヘッドラン
プ4の前面レンズ5には、横溝6を設けるが、ヘッドラ
ンプ4の配光は、前面レンズ5の内面のレンズカットに
よって調整できる。また、当該配向は、横溝6の回りの
キャラクターラインの折れる面の角度をR15以上にす
ることによっても問題を生じなくすることができる。 【0011】 【発明の効果】以上説明したように、この発明は上述の
ように構成したので、カウリング前面中央に設けたヘッ
ドランプの前面レンズに形成した横溝によって、中央付
近の動圧の高い走行風を横溝を通して、ヘッドランプの
左右側方に設けた空気導入口に受入れることができて、
走行風を効率よく受入れられる。そして、ヘッドランプ
の大きさを十分確保しつつ取付け位置が高くなることも
なく、ヘッドランプの上側に取付けるメーターの取付け
位置が高過ぎるようになることもない。又、ヘッドラン
プの前面レンズに形成した横溝による配光の変化は、前
面レンズ内面のレンズカットによって調整すればよい。
