ドに関するものである。 【0002】 【従来の技術】DOHC内燃機関において、カムキヤリ
ヤをシリンダヘツドと別体に構成することは、鋳造の際
に中子を必要としないという利点があるが、吸気弁と排
気弁をそれぞれ駆動する左右1対のカムキヤリヤが別体
であると、シリンダヘツドの内部へ取り付ける際の位置
決め用ダウエル、リーマボルトなどを備える必要がある
など加工や組立に手数がかかり、またシリンダヘツドの
中心から上方へ長いプラグ案内筒部が突出する構造にな
り、シリンダヘツドの鋳造に際し鋳型への湯(溶融金
属)の流れがよくないという問題がある。 【0003】実開昭60-8445 号公報に開示されるDOH
C内燃機関のシリンダヘツドは、シリンダヘツドを下半
部と上半部とに水平な面で分割されているので、上述し
た鋳造上の問題は改善されるが、シリンダヘツドの構造
がやや複雑であり、ダイキヤスト鋳造には向かない。ま
た、シリンダヘツドの重合せ面に油の洩れを防止するガ
スケツトを介装する必要が生じる。 【0004】 【発明が解決しようとする課題】本発明の目的は上述の
問題に鑑み、第2のシリンダヘツド(シリンダヘツドの

改善した、DOHC内燃機関のシリンダヘツドを提供す
ることにある。 【0005】 【課題を解決するための手段】上記目的を達成するため
に、本発明の構成は左右1対のカムシヤフトを備えたD
OHC内燃機関において、シリンダヘツドと、該シリン
ダヘツドの上端に結合したヘツドカバーと、前記シリン
ダヘツドとヘツドカバーとにより形成される内空部に納
められ、かつ前記シリンダヘツドの内空部の底面に重合
せ結合される第2のシリンダヘツドとを有し、第2のシ
リンダヘツドは少くとも各カムシヤフトの下半部を支持
するカムキヤリアと、プラグ案内筒と、カムキヤリアと
プラグ案内筒を連結する橋絡部とから形成されることを
特徴とする。 【0006】また、本発明の構成は第2のシリンダヘツ
ドの左右のカムキヤリヤを、シリンダヘツドの内空部の
底部に備えた屋根形をなす左右1対の傾斜面に重合せ結
合したものである。 【0007】 【作用】第2のシリンダヘツドは左右1対のカムキヤリ
ヤをプラグ案内筒部で一体に結合し、シリンダヘツドの
内空部の傾斜面に重ね合せる。好ましくは、プラグ案内
筒をシリンダヘツドの円筒部へ嵌合し、カムキヤリヤを
シリンダヘツドに位置決めする。これにより、鋳造性、
組立作業性が改善される。 【0008】 【実施例】図1は本発明に係るDOHC内燃機関、特に
直列4気筒16弁型DOHC内燃機関のシリンダヘツド
の正面断面図、図2は同シリンダヘツドのカムキヤリヤ
の展開平面図である。シリンダヘツドBは上半部を箱形
の周壁2で囲まれており、周壁2の上端フランジ2a
に、シール部材を介してヘツドカバー21を結合され
る。シリンダヘツドBの内空部の底部に屋根形に傾斜し
た左右1対の傾斜面3が備えられ、中心にプラグ取付孔
4が備えられる。プラグ取付孔4は上端に、僅かに上方
へ突出する円筒部4aを一体に形成され、下端にプラグ
(点火栓または燃料噴射弁)を螺合するねじ孔4bを形
成される。シリンダヘツドBの下面5は、図示してない
シリンダ本体の上にガスケツトを介して重ね合され、ボ
ルトにより締結される。シリンダヘツドBは吸排気通
路、吸排気弁の弁座、弁ステムの案内孔などを備えてい
るが、本発明の要旨に関係しないので、図1にはそれら
の図示を省略し、ハツチングを付してない。 【0009】本発明によれば、ハツチングで示す第2の
シリンダヘツドCが、吸排気弁を開閉駆動するカム機構
を支持する左右1対のカムキヤリヤA1,A2を、プラ
グ案内筒14で一体に結合され、例えばダイキヤスト鋳
造などにより成形される。このため、各カムキヤリヤA
1,A2にシリンダ配列方向に間隔を存して隔壁16が
設けられ、各隔壁16から突出する橋絡部13により、
プラグ案内筒14が1対のカムキヤリヤA1,A2の間
に結合される。第2のシリンダヘツドCのカムキヤリヤ
A1,A2の下面18は、シリンダヘツドBの内空部の
傾斜面3に重ね合され、プラグ案内筒14は下端の大径
円筒部14aを、シリンダヘツドBのプラグ取付孔4の
上端壁部から上方へ突出する円筒部4aへ外嵌される。
こうして、第2のシリンダヘツドCがシリンダヘツドB
の内空部へ位置決めされ、後述するボルトにより結合さ
れる。 【0010】図2に示すように、第2のシリンダヘツド
Cの各カムキヤリヤA1,A2はシリンダの配列方向
に、半円筒形のくぼみ12を有しかつ配列ピツチpで並
ぶ4つの隔壁16と、8つのタペツト孔15とを並設さ
れる。各隔壁16に1対のボルト挿通孔16aが備えら
れる。カム軸19(図1)は次のようにして各カムキヤ
リヤA1,A2に支持される。隔壁16のくぼみ12に
カム軸19を支持し、隔壁16の平坦な上面に、半円筒
形のくぼみを有する軸受キヤツプ20を重ね合せ、軸受
キヤツプ20と隔壁16のボルト挿通孔16aを貫通す
るボルト22を、シリンダヘツドBの傾斜面3に設けた
ねじ孔23へ螺合する。こうして、軸受キヤツプ20と
カムキヤリヤA1,A2がシリンダヘツドBへ締結され
る。 【0011】上述のように、第2のシリンダヘツドCの
左右1対のカムキヤリヤA1,A2がプラグ案内筒14
と橋絡部13により一体に結合されるので、部品の管理
や機械加工が容易になり、大径円筒部14aと円筒部4
aの嵌合により、第2のシリンダヘツドCがシリンダヘ
ツドBの内空部へ位置決めされるので、組立作業性が向
上される。 【0012】 【発明の効果】本発明によれば、第2のシリンダヘツド
が左右1対のカムキヤリヤをプラグ案内筒部で一体に結
合して構成されるので、鋳造、加工が容易であり、第2
のシリンダヘツドがカムキヤリヤをプラグ案内筒により
シリンダヘツドへ位置決めされるので、位置決め用ダウ
エル、リーマボルトなどを備えなくてもよく、加工や組
立が容易になる。 【0013】シリンダヘツドに上方へ突出する長いプラ
グ案内筒を設ける必要がないので、鋳型の形状が単純に
なり、シリンダヘツドの鋳造時、湯の廻りが改善され
る。 【0014】吸気弁用カムキヤリヤと排気弁用カムキヤ
リヤが一体に連結されるので、別体の場合に生じる誤組
付けを回避できる。 【0015】第2のシリンダヘツドのカムキヤリヤはシ
リンダヘツドの内空部に組み付けられるから、両者の重
合せ結合部からタペツト部の潤滑油が洩れるようなこと
があつても支障はなく、重合せ結合部へガスケツトやシ
ール部材を介装する必要がない。
