Description

This invention relates to a grating cover for drains that significantly omits the processing steps, saves labor, and prevents the cover from floating up at an angle to ensure safety for passage.

The basic function of a grating is to promote rapid drainage into a drainage ditch by allowing only water to flow and preventing people, various types of debris, and general objects from entering or falling into it.
By covering the drain with a grating, it is possible to ensure the safety of people and vehicles passing through the work site. For this reason, gratings are used "all over the city and indoors.
For example, if you look around for a moment, you will see them on the sides of roads, where the sidewalk meets the vehicle, in parking lots, around buildings and structures, in parks, stadiums, shopping districts, and even inside buildings.
Furthermore, it is also used as a flooring material in a broad sense, and is widely used in factories, waste disposal plants, thermal power plants, etc.
This familiar grating is an essential part of creating safe and comfortable living environments and urban spaces.

Furthermore, as lifestyles become more diverse, the functions required of cities are becoming more diverse, and the performance and functions required of gratings also differ depending on the location and purpose of their use.
They are commonly seen as covers over road drainage channels. They are also used widely in areas such as factory access walkways. Gratings used on roads are intended for surface drainage, while those used on factory access walkways are lighter and easier to work with than steel plates, and are also intended to mitigate wind loads in windy areas by taking advantage of the grating's ability to easily pass wind through.

In recent years, as people in wheelchairs, strollers, and high heels have become more common on sidewalks, there have been many complaints about the wheels of wheelchairs, strollers, and strollers getting caught in the gaps in the main components of the gratings installed on sidewalks and in plazas, creating danger, and the heels of high heels getting caught and breaking. As a result, countermeasures such as making the gratings finer, changing the shape of the gratings, and improving the design elements have begun to be sold.
Additionally, in factories and other places, checkered plate is often used for passageways for visitors because gratings make it easy to see what is underneath. However, we are now seeing products that fill the gaps in the grating with permeable paving materials such as colorful natural stone or rubber chips, thereby maintaining the traditional drainage function despite having no visible openings and preventing the passage of foreign objects other than water.

Here, we will introduce the invention of Patent Document 1, which is a well-known grating cover for drains.
The invention of Patent Document 1 is, as shown in (1) to (3) of Figure 6, "a drainage ditch structure in which a grating 1 is installed over an opening 4 of a drainage ditch 3, the opening 6 of the drainage ditch 3 is narrowed 5 at an incline toward the bottom, and the end of a support bearing bar 7 of the grating 1 is narrowed at an incline toward the bottom, the end of the support bearing bar 7 of the grating 1 abuts against and is supported by the opening 4 of the drainage ditch 3, the grating 1 has a gap bearing bar 8 whose end is narrowed at an incline toward the bottom so as to form a gap 12 between the grating 1 and the opening 4 of the drainage ditch 3, and further the gap bearing bar 8 is formed so that the upper end surface of the end is located above the upper end surface of the opening 4 when the grating 1 is installed over the opening 4 of the drainage ditch 3."
In the figure, reference numeral 9 denotes a cross bar extending in the length direction of the opening 4 and connecting the support bearing bar 7 and the gap bearing bar 8 , reference numeral 10 denotes a support surface of the support bearing bar 7 , and reference numeral 11 denotes a guide surface of the gap bearing bar 8 .

Patent No. 6028170 "Drainage ditch structure, grating used in said drainage ditch structure, and drainage ditch"

However, this invention has the following drawbacks and is not practical.
1) It is difficult to process and manufacture the grating because both ends of the support bearing bars and the gap bearing bars are narrowed in width in a sloping manner that follows the sloping manner of the opening.
2) Since all of the support bearing bars and gap bearing bars are arranged in the width direction of the opening, water flowing from the sides of the opening is likely to overflow, making it difficult to drain the water.
3) Since the upper end surface of the gap bearing bar is located above the upper end surface of the opening, care must be taken when passing over it to avoid tripping over it.

This invention provides a sturdy and simple grating cover that omits and reduces the labor required for the grating processing process, simplifies the installation of grating over the opening of a drainage ditch, and directs water flowing from the side of the opening into the drainage ditch without allowing it to overflow, while also allowing safe passage.

The present invention is an excellent grating cover that solves all of the above problems, and its technical features are as follows (1).
(1) A grating lid to be placed on a rectangular receiving frame at the opening of a drainage ditch, characterized in that a plurality of gap main bars are arranged at parallel intervals along the longitudinal direction of the rectangular receiving frame, the middle parts of the gap main bars are connected and supported by a plurality of cross bars along the width direction of the rectangular receiving frame and both ends are fixedly connected by end bars, and the lower parts of the end bars form a narrow-width portion that can be placed on the grating lid by abutting against an inclined surface formed below the rectangular receiving frame.
(2) A grating cover as described in (1) above, characterized in that an equal-width hanging portion is formed at the lower end of the narrow-width portion of the end bar.
(3) A grating cover as described in (1) or (2), characterized in that connecting fitting protrusions are provided at both ends of the main bar and fitting holes are formed in the end bars into which the connecting fitting protrusions are fitted.

<Summary of main features and effects of the present invention>
1) All of the gap main bars are arranged along the longitudinal direction of the opening, and both ends are directly connected and fixed to the end bars without being inclined, making the grating processing and manufacturing extremely simple, and enabling a significant elimination of the processing steps and labor savings.
2) Since all of the gap main bars are arranged in the longitudinal direction of the opening, water flowing from the sides of the width of the opening is reliably guided downward to the main drainage groove body without overflowing, thereby fully performing the desired drainage function.
3) The gap main bar is never positioned above the upper end of the opening, so there is no risk of tripping while passing through. It also prevents uneven loads from being placed on the grating cover, causing it to lift up at an angle, ensuring safety for pedestrians.
4) Furthermore, by providing connecting fitting protrusions at both ends of the main bar and forming insertion holes in the end bars into which the connecting fitting protrusions are inserted for insertion and connection, even if the insertion hole of the end bar and the insertion welded portion between the connecting fitting protrusion of the main bar are destroyed, the main bar will not come off, making it extremely safe.
Generally, there is no interlocking connection and it is simply surface welding, so if the weld comes loose, the main bar will fall and the grating will drop into the drain, which could cause injury.

The mode for carrying out the invention will now be described in more detail with reference to the following examples.

The basic configuration of an embodiment of the present invention is shown in FIGS.

1 to 3, a drainage gutter 100 is fitted with a metallic rectangular receiving frame 102 which has a rectangular opening 101 formed at its upper part, and a gutter body 104 is formed below the rectangular receiving frame 102 with an inclined surface 103 interposed therebetween.

In this example, the grating cover 200, which is removably arranged on the rectangular receiving frame 102 of the opening 101 of the drainage ditch 100, consists of a number of gap main bars 201 which form equal gaps for the inflow of wastewater, cross bars 202-1 to 202-3 which support the formation of the specified gaps in the gap main bars 201, and end bars 203 which fix and support each of the two ends of the gap main bars 201.

A plurality of gap main bars 201 are arranged at parallel intervals along the longitudinal direction of the rectangular receiving frame 102. As all of the gap main bars are arranged in the longitudinal direction of the opening, water flowing from the sides in the width direction of the rectangular receiving frame 102 is reliably guided to the drainage ditch main body below and drained without overflowing.

The cross bars 202-1 to 202-3 are positioned along the width direction of the rectangular receiving frame 102 and support and fix all of the gap main bars 201 at several points in the middle portion thereof.
The crossbar 202-1 in the example shown in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2-1 is a round bar, which is connected to the gap main bars 201 by penetration welding to support and fix each gap main bar, thereby maintaining the stability of its strength.
In addition, the crossbar 202-2 in the example shown in Figure 2-2 is made of a square bar with a recess 220 formed on the upper part for fitting, and the lower part of each gap main bar 201 is fitted into the recess 220 and welded to connect them, thereby supporting and fixing the gap main bar 201 and further maintaining its strength.
In addition, the crossbar 202-3 in the example shown in Figure 2-3 is a square bar without a recess, and its upper end surface is abutted against the lower end surface of the gap main bar 201 and welded to connect it, etc., to support and fix the gap main bar 201, allowing for simple processing while maintaining stable strength.
5 shows the connection structure of the main bar 201 and the end bar 203 that is common to all the examples, in which a connecting fitting protrusion 201H is provided at the end of the main bar 201 and a fitting hole 203H into which the connecting fitting protrusion 201H is fitted is formed in the end bar 203. (1) is a side view of the main bar, and (2) is a front view of the end bar.

As shown in the example of Figure 3, a pair of end bars 203 are provided on both side ends of the gap main bar 201, and each upper part 203u of the end bars forms a tenon set between the connecting fitting protrusions 201H and the insertion holes 203H as described above at both ends of the gap main bar 201. Therefore, even if the insertion welded portion between the insertion hole of the end bar and the connecting fitting protrusion of the main bar is destroyed, the main bar will not come off, and it is extremely safe.
In addition, the end bar 203 is fitted into both side frames 102e of the rectangular receiving frame 102 in an engaged state, and a tapered base 203d is formed at the lower part, which is abutted against the inclined surface 103 formed below the rectangular receiving frame 102, allowing the grating cover 200 to be placed stably.

In the example of Figure 5, the lower end of the tapered base 203d at the bottom of the end bar 203 is extended to an equal width to form a hanging portion 203s, and the hanging portion 203s is made to face the vertical side wall surface of the drainage ditch at a right angle.By making the hanging portion 203s face the vertical side wall surface of the drainage ditch at a right angle, even if an uneven load is applied to the grating cover 200 and the grating cover 200 tries to float up at an angle, the hanging portion 203s abuts against the vertical side wall surface of the drainage ditch, preventing the grating cover 200 from flying up.

The grating cover for drains of the present invention exhibits the excellent effects described above and will make a great contribution to the grating manufacturing and utilization industries.
