Then, the display panels 41, 51 of the light guide plate 61
A plurality of minute concave portions 62 are formed on the surface opposite to the surface where is located to improve the efficiency of light emission to the display surface side.
As shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, the concave portion 62 has an inclined surface 63 formed by cutting the peripheral surface of the cylinder obliquely at a portion facing the fluorescent lamp 37 at one end. Irradiation light from the lamp 37 is reflected and directed toward the display surface, and the concave portion 62 is tapered toward the display surface side. The inclined surface 63 of the concave portion 62 is such that light propagating in the light guide plate 61 is totally reflected by the inclined surface 63, and the incident angle on the display surface is within a critical angle determined by the refractive index of the light guide plate 61. On the surface of the light guide plate 61 where the display panels 41 and 51 are located, a light direction changing means 65 is provided, and the light direction changing means 65 is orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of the fluorescent lamps 45 and 55. With an axial direction in the direction and the hypotenuse is 45 ° to the lower side
A plurality of convex portions 66 having a substantially trapezoidal cross section at an angle of are formed adjacent to each other in parallel. The projections 66 of the light direction changing means 65 guide the light from the fluorescent lamps 45 and 55 to the depth of the light guide plate 61, that is, the direction farthest from the fluorescent lamps 45 and 55, and to guide the light from the fluorescent lamps 45 and 55. The emitted light spread in the axial direction of 55 is refracted in the normal direction of the display panels 41 and 51.

Here, the light emitted from the fluorescent lamps 45 and 55 is narrowed down by the reflectors 46 and 56 in the optical axis direction of the light guide plate 61 in a cross section orthogonal to the axial direction of the fluorescent lamps 45 and 55. Light is desirable. On the other hand, in a cross section parallel to the axial direction of the fluorescent lamps 45 and 55, the light distribution cannot be controlled by the reflectors 46 and 56, so that the light distribution has a large spread. Since the display panels 41 and 51 of the light guide plate 61 are flat,
Depending on the light distribution of the display panels 41 and 51, the emitted light distribution is largely spread on a plane perpendicular to the surfaces of the display panels 41 and 51 and parallel to the axial direction of the fluorescent lamps 45 and 55.

Further, light hitting the slope of the convex portion 66 of the light direction changing means 65 is refracted in the normal direction and emitted, and light hitting the upper side is not refracted in the normal direction. The light condensing performance by the convex portion 66 is determined depending on the
