2. Description of the Related Art In a conventional glass with an outer peripheral protective material, a linear resin outer peripheral protective material having a groove capable of sandwiching the outer peripheral edge of a sheet glass is provided on each side of the sheet glass. The material is fitted to the outer peripheral portion of each side of the sheet glass, and the butting portion of the adjacent outer protective material is bonded with an adhesive,
They are connected with adhesive tape. However, the thermal expansion and contraction rate of the outer protective material is different from the thermal expansion and contraction rate of the sheet glass. In summer, the outer protective material expands from the sheet glass and the outer protective material protrudes to impair the appearance. However, there is a problem that the outer peripheral protective material having the weakest coupling force is contracted from the sheet glass and the connecting portion between the outer peripheral protective materials is cut off, thereby causing water leakage. In addition, the connecting portions of the outer peripheral protection members are easily separated by an impact during transportation, and there is a problem of breakage during transportation.

According to the present invention, one outer protective material is bent at the notch, and the outer protective material is wound around the outer peripheral edge of the glass sheet while the bent portion is brought into contact with the corner of the glass sheet. In this way, since one outer protective material is wound around the outer peripheral edge of the sheet glass, the connecting portion of the outer protective material is reduced,
The probability that the connection portion of the outer peripheral protection material is broken in a disconnected state can be reduced, high watertightness can be maintained, and the sheet glass can be protected during transportation. In addition, the outer circumferential protective material may be endless or endless. The endless outer circumferential protective material does not have a connection portion, and the outer circumferential protective material is not easily damaged. Therefore, high watertightness can be maintained.

According to the third aspect of the present invention, since both ends of the outer circumferential protective member are joined at a straight outer circumferential edge portion other than the corner portion of the sheet glass, the tensile force is highest in the contracted state of the outer circumferential protective member. Since there is no joint portion of the outer peripheral protection material at the corner of the sheet glass, the joined portion of the outer peripheral protection material is hard to be separated even in winter, and higher watertightness can be maintained.

Further , in the present invention, the outer peripheral protective material in a state where a tensile force is applied is wound around the outer peripheral edge of the sheet glass, so that the outer peripheral protective material does not protrude even if the outer peripheral protective material expands in summer. In addition, even if the outer peripheral protective material shrinks in winter, the outer peripheral protective material is not cut midway, so that high watertightness can be maintained even with temperature changes and the appearance can be beautiful.

BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION There are a case where a long single outer circumferential protective material is joined at both ends and a case where an endless loop-shaped outer circumferential protective material is used, and the former is preferable. . In addition, it is desirable that the joining portion at both ends of one long outer circumferential protective material be located at a straight portion of the glass sheet. It is desirable that the outer peripheral protective material is wound around the outer peripheral edge of the sheet glass by applying a predetermined tension. The material of the outer periphery protection material is generally made of elastic rubber.

Embodiment 1 (see FIGS. 1 to 5) In the drawings, reference numeral 1 denotes an elongated neoprene rubber outer periphery having a groove 1b on its inner surface for holding an outer peripheral edge of a sheet glass 4a and opening the groove 1b at both ends. Protective material, 1a is an end portion of the outer protective material 1, 1b is a groove provided on the inner surface of the outer protective material 1, 2 is a notch formed by cutting a triangular inner surface portion of the outer protective material 1 corresponding to a corner of the glass sheet 4a. Reference numeral 3 denotes an arc portion in which the apex portion of the cutout 2 is formed in a round shape, 4 denotes a double-layer glass in which plate glasses 4a are juxtaposed at intervals, 4a denotes a plate glass, and 5 denotes a sash frame. In Example 1 shown in FIGS. 1 to 5, an elongated rubber-made outer peripheral protection material 1 in which a portion corresponding to a corner portion of a sheet glass 4 a is notched is bent at a right angle in the notch, and the bent portion is connected to the sheet glass 4 a. The groove 1b of the outer protective material 1 is fitted into the outer peripheral edge of the multi-layer glass 4 while being brought into contact with the corners of the above, and the outer protective material 1 is wound around the outer peripheral edge of the multi-layer glass 4. Both ends of the outer peripheral protection member 1 are fitted into linear portions of the glass sheet 4a. For this reason, when the outer peripheral protective material is in a contracted state due to a decrease in the indoor temperature, the plate glass 4 having the highest tensile force is used.
Since there is no connecting portion of the outer peripheral protection material 1 at the corner of a, the connecting portion is hard to be separated, and high watertightness can be maintained.

[0011] Even if the glass temperature reaches 80 degrees in the summer, the outer peripheral protective material is tensioned so that a tensile force is applied to the outer protective glass 1 so as not to impair the watertightness between the outer peripheral protective material 1 and the plate glass 4a. It is wrapped around the periphery. The magnitude of the tensile force is such that the outer peripheral protective material 1 is not cut in a contracted state at a glass temperature of −25 degrees in winter. The temperature is appropriately set in accordance with the high-temperature minimum temperature, the low-temperature use area, the purpose of use, and the like. For this reason, even if the outer peripheral protective material 1 expands somewhat, the watertightness between the sheet glass 4a and the outer peripheral protective material 1 is less likely to be impaired by the amount that the outer peripheral protective material 1 is wound under tension.
High watertightness can be maintained. Further, the outer peripheral protective material 1 does not protrude, and the appearance can be maintained beautifully. Furthermore, even if the outer peripheral protective material 1 shrinks in winter, the middle of the outer peripheral protective material 1 is not cut, so that high watertightness can be maintained even when the temperature changes. The apex of the notch 2 is formed in a circular arc shape, and when the notch 2 is bent, the notch surfaces are easily brought into close contact with each other, thereby improving water tightness and workability. . In the first embodiment, an example is shown in which both ends of one outer circumferential protective material are joined, but an endless outer circumferential protective material may be used.

According to the present invention, damage to the outer protective material in the contracted state can be greatly reduced by reducing or eliminating the connecting portions at both ends of the outer protective material wound around the outer periphery of the sheet glass. The watertightness between the protective material and the sheet glass can be maintained high. In addition, it expanded by the amount of tension
The outer protective material can be prevented from protruding, providing high watertightness and beauty
Appearance can be reliably maintained for a long time.
According to the second aspect of the present invention, the cutout surface at the apex of the cutout portion of the outer peripheral protective material is formed in an arc shape, and the cutout surfaces can be easily and quickly and securely adhered to each other by bending the outer peripheral protective material. The workability was excellent. According to the third aspect of the present invention, both ends of the string-shaped outer peripheral protective material are fitted and connected to the linear portion of the glass sheet, and the outer peripheral protective material is applied to the corner of the glass sheet where the tensile force is most applied in the contracted state. The number of connected portions of the material is reduced, and it is possible to reliably prevent the water tightness between the outer protective material and the sheet glass from being impaired in the contracted state, and to stably maintain high water tightness for a long period of time .
