【産業上の利用分野】この発明は、使い捨ておむつに関
する。

【従来の技術】従来、使い捨ておむつにおいて、その左
右両側に着用者の股下方向への起立性向を有するカフを
設けて排泄物の横漏れを防止する技術は周知である。米
国特許第５，０２１，０５１号公報は、おむつ内方へ倒
伏したカフの前後両端部を表面シートに接合する一方、
股下域においてカフの自由縁部をおむつ外方へ折曲して
互いに向き合うカフの外面どうしを重ね合わせ、それら
を部分的に接合することにより股下域における左右カフ
の自由縁部どうしの間隔を広げる技術を開示している。
この技術によれば、カフの幅が比較的広く、起立したと
きの丈が高くなるようにしてあっても、倒伏したカフは
股下域において表面シートを広く覆うことがなく、表面
シートの透液面積を減少させることがない。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】易流動性の軟便を処理
する使い捨ておむつでは、着用者の股下方向への起立性
向を有するカフの基部どうしの間隔を狭くしておくと、
軟便の広がりを抑え着用者の肌の汚れを小さな面積にと
どめておくことができるという効果がある。また、かか
るカフの幅を広くして、起立したときの丈が比較的高く
なるようにしておくと、着用者の股下とおむつとが大き
く離隔した場合にも、カフがバリヤーとしての機能を存
分に発揮して軟便の横漏れを防ぐことができる。しか
し、カフの基部間隔を狭くしたうえでカフの幅を広くす
ると、カフがおむつ内方へ倒伏したときに表面シートを
広く覆ってしまい、表面シートの透液面積を実質的に減
少させて排泄物の吸収を著しく妨げるという問題があ
る。前記米国特許第５，０２１，０５１号公報の技術は
その問題の解決手段になり得るのだが、肝心なおむつ股
下域において二つに折曲したカフの自由縁部を接合して
しまうから高くしたはずの丈が低くなり、所期の目的を
達し難いという問題がある。
【０００４】そこで、この発明においては、おむつ内方
へ倒伏するカフの自由縁部を外方へ折曲し、その折曲し
たカフの前後両端部をカフおよび表面シートのいずれか
に接合することにより、前記従来技術の問題を解決する
ことを課題にしている。

【課題を解決するための手段】前記課題を解決するため
にこの発明が手段とするところは、以下のとおりであ
る。
【０００６】この発明においては、透液性表面シートと
不透液性裏面シートとの間に吸液性コアが介在し、前身
頃と後身頃との間に股下域が位置し、前記前後身頃及び
股下域の両側長手方向に延在し、側方基部、これに並行
する伸縮性の側方自由縁部及び前後両端部を有する一対
のカフが該側方基部と該両端部とにおいて前記表面シー
トに接合され、前記側方自由縁部が前記股下域において
前記表面シートからの起立性向を有する使い捨ておむつ
を前提にしている。
【０００７】かかる前提において、前記カフは、その基
部と前記両端部の基部近傍とがコアの側縁より内側で表
面シートに接合されておむつ内方へ倒伏するとともに、
前記自由縁部が前記基部よりも内側に位置するようにお
むつ外方へ折曲されて前記カフの非折曲部分に重ねら
れ、かつ、該自由縁部の前後両端部が前記非折曲部分に
接合されており、中央部に縦長の開口部を有し前記おむ
つとほぼ同じ外形のカバーシートが前記表面シート及び
前記一対のカフの上面に位置して該カバーシートの少な
くとも外周部の一部が前記表面シートに接合されるとと
もに、前記股下域において前記一対のカフの少なくとも
前記折曲された側方自由縁部が前記開口部から露出して
いることが、この発明の特徴である。

【作用】このように構成した使い捨ておむつにおいて
は、カフの基部をコアの側縁より内側で表面シートに接
合することにより、一対のカフの基部間隔を狭くするこ
とができる。おむつ内方へ倒伏したカフは、その自由縁
部がおむつ外方へ折曲してあり、かつ、前後両端部が接
合した状態にあるから、おむつ股下域においてカフは表
面シートを広く覆うことがなく、しかも起立したときに
は丈の高いバリヤーを形成する。

【実施例】この発明に係る使い捨ておむつの詳細を添付
の図面を参照して説明すると、以下のとおりである。
【００１０】図１は、使い捨ておむつ１の部分破断平面
図である。おむつ１は、透液性表面シート５と、不透液
性裏面シート６と、両シート５，６間に介在する吸液性
コア７とからなり、前後方向に沿って前身頃８と、後身
頃９と、両身頃８，９間に介在する股下域１０とによっ
て構成されている。表裏面シート５，６は、コア７の左
右側縁１１から延出する部分が一体に接合されて脚周り
用第１カフ１２を形成し、前後両端縁１５，１６から延
出する部分が前後身頃端縁部１７，１８を形成してい
る。第１カフ１２は脚周り凹欠部２０を有し、それに沿
って脚周り弾性部材２１が伸長下に貼着され、端縁部１
７，１８には胴周り弾性部材２２，２３がおむつ１の左
右方向へ伸長下に貼着され、後身頃９の左右側縁から
は、テープファスナー２５が延出している。
【００１１】おむつ１において、前後身頃８，９の長手
方向には、左右一対の細長い股下部用第２カフ２８が延
在している。第２カフ２８は、その基部である外側縁部
２９がコアの側縁１１よりも内側において表面シート５
に接合されておむつ１内方へ倒伏した状態にあり、ま
た、前後両端部３０，３１の外側縁部２９近傍も表面シ
ート５に接合されている。それらの接合部位を左下りの
斜線３２によって示す。第２カフ２８の自由縁部３５
は、外側縁部２９に並行し、後記図２、３で説明するよ
うにおむつ１外方へ折曲されて反転した状態にある。そ
の自由縁部３５の前後両端部３６，３７は、第２カフ２
８の既に倒伏している非折曲部分に接合されている。そ
の接合部位を右下りの斜線３８によって示す。自由縁部
３５には両端部３６，３７間に伸長下の弾性部材１３が
貼着され、この弾性部材１３は第２カフ２８の自由縁を
僅かに折り重ねることにより被覆してある。
【００１２】図２は、図１の２−２線断面を示すおむつ
１の部分斜視図であって、第２カフ２８の後端部の詳細
を示す。第２カフ２８は、外側縁部２９とその近傍がホ
ットメルト接着剤４０により表面シート５の上面に接合
され、自由縁部３５とその近傍がおむつ１の内方から外
方へ向けて折曲され、既に倒伏している第２カフ２８に
ホットメルト接着剤４１により接合されている。
【００１３】図３は、図１の３−３線断面を示すおむつ
１の部分斜視図であって、前記股下域１０における第２
カフ２８の詳細を示す。第２カフ２８は、表面シート５
に重なる外側縁部２９とその近傍のうち、外側縁部２９
のみが表面シート５に接合され、自由縁部３５とその近
傍は、おむつ１の外方へ向けて折曲されている。第２カ
フ２８の幅方向において、外側縁部２９から自由縁部３
５へ至る部分のうち表面シート５に接合していない部分
は、弾性部材１３の収縮作用により矢印Ｘ方向へ、すな
わち表面シート５上面から起立する性向を有している。
【００１４】図４は、図３において弾性部材１３が収縮
したときの第２カフ２８の状態を示し、この状態は、お
むつ１を着用したときとほぼ同じである。弾性部材１３
が自由縁部３５の前記両端部３６，３７間で収縮する
と、第２カフ２８が外側縁部２９を支持部として表面シ
ート５上面から起立するととともに、多数のギャザー４
１を生じ、自由縁部３５は着用者の股下部（図示せず）
へ当接可能になる。起立した第２カフ２８は、軟便など
の易流動性排泄物の横方向への流れを妨げるバリヤーと
して作用し、自由縁部３５が股下部へ当接するときに
は、そのバリヤーとしての効果が一層顕著になる。な
お、着用状態のおむつ１において、前記前後身頃端縁部
１７，１８と第１カフ１２にもギャザーが生じ着用者の
胴周りと脚周りとにそれぞれ密着することは周知おむつ
に同じであるから、その説明を省略する。
【００１５】これらの図から明らかなように、おむつ１
では倒伏した第２カフ２８の自由縁部３５を外方へ折曲
してあるから、その折曲部分を有しない場合に較べて第
２カフ２８の幅が広く、しかもその外側縁部２９がコア
７の側縁１１より内側に位置していても、表面シート５
を広く覆うことはなく、たといおむつ１を着用したとき
に第２カフ２８が倒伏したままであっても、表面シート
５の透液面積を狭めることがない。換言すると、第２カ
フ２８は、幅を広くして起立したときの丈が高くなるよ
うにしても、表面シート５の機能に支障を来すことがな
く、しかも、おむつ１と着用者の股下部との間に大きな
間隙を生じたときには、幅広い第２カフ２８がそこに広
がってバリヤーを形成することができる。
【００１６】図５は、この発明の実施態様の一例を示す
図１と同様の平面図である。このおむつ１では、中央部
に縦長円形の開口部４５を有し、おむつ１と同じ外形の
透液性または不透液性のカバーシート４６が第２カフ２
８の上にあり、カバーシート４６の少なくとも外周部と
開口部４５の周縁部はホットメルト接着剤（図示せず）
により表面シート５および第２カフ２８に接合されてい
る。開口部４５は、前記股下域１０において左右の第２
カフ２８の外側縁部２９間の幅より広く、開口部４５の
内側において第２カフ２８は起立可能である。このよう
に、上にのせたカバーシート４６を利用して第２カフ２
８の外側縁部２９や自由縁部３５を表面シート５に接合
することもできる。
【００１７】この発明において、第２カフ２８には透液
性、不透液性、または通気不透液性の不織布やプラスチ
ックフィルムを使用することができ、その他の部材には
当該分野の慣用素材を使用することができる。部材間の
接合には、周知の接着剤や粘着剤の他に熱融着の技術を
利用することができる。

【発明の効果】この発明に係る使い捨ておむつにおいて
は、股下用カフの基部を吸液性コアの側縁よりも内側で
表面シートに接合し、自由縁部を外方へ折曲したから、
左右のカフの基部間隔が比較的狭くなり、軟便などの易
流動性排泄物の広がりを抑えて肌の汚れる面積を小さく
することができる。かかるカフは、その弾性部材の作用
によって起立するから、その幅を広くしても、表面シー
トを広く覆うことがなく、表面シートの透液のための有
効面積を狭めることがない。
【００１９】カバーシートの開口部で囲まれる領域を除
いて表面シートに接合されたカフの側方基部及び前後両
端部が覆われているから、外観が良好であるうえに、そ
れら接合部が着用者の肌に当接して違和感を与えること
がない。

    (57)【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】透液性表面シートと不透液性裏面シートと
    の間に吸液性コアが介在し、前身頃と後身頃との間に股
    下域が位置し、前記前後身頃及び股下域の両側長手方向
    に延在し、側方基部、これに並行する伸縮性の側方自由
    縁部及び前後両端部を有する一対のカフが該側方基部と
    該両端部とにおいて前記表面シートに接合され、前記自
    由縁部が前記股下域において前記表面シートからの起立
    性向を有する使い捨ておむつであって、 前記カフは、前記基部と前後両端部の前記基部近傍とが
    前記コアの側縁より内側で前記表面シートに接合されて
    おむつ内方へ倒伏するとともに、前記自由縁部が前記基
    部よりも内側に位置するようにおむつ外方へ折曲されて
    前記カフの非折曲部分に重ねられ、かつ、該自由縁部の
    前後両端部が前記非折曲部分に接合されており、 中央部に縦長の開口部を有し前記おむつとほぼ同じ外形
    のカバーシートが前記表面シート及び前記一対のカフの
    上面に位置して該カバーシートの少なくとも外周部の一
    部が前記表面シートに接合されるとともに、前記股下域
    において前記一対のカフの少なくとも前記折曲された側
    方自由縁部が前記開口部から露出している ことを特徴と
    する使い捨ておむつ。
  2. 【請求項２】中央部に縦長の開口部を有し前記おむつと
    ほぼ同じ外形のカバーシートが前記表面シート及び前記
    一対のカフの上面に位置して該カバーシートの少なくと
    も外周部が前記表面シートに接合されるとともに、前記
    股下域において前記一対のカフの少なくとも前記折曲さ
    れた側方自由縁部が前記開口部から露出している請求項
    １に記載の使い捨ておむつ。
