図２の背中側プリンセスライン１３は本来なら脇側１２と同じ長さであるが、図の背中側プリンセスライン１３はタックまたはダーツ２及び３の分長く計算し裁断することにより、タックまたはダーツを設けて脇側のプリンセスラインと長さを合わせている。
そのタックまたはダーツによって作られる生地のゆとりがふくらみ１１として現れる。
図３は型紙（パターン）の展開図で、タックのたたみ方（方向）の指示である。
タック及びダーツはプリンセスライン上の背中側２個が最も好ましいが背中の曲がり具合に応じて１又は３個以上あっても良い。
