【課題】 ディスクグラインダーは研磨という用途以外に鉄筋・管材の切断に利用されている。木工用切断工具には指が離れると刃が停止する機能があるが、ディスクグラインダーは指が離れても砥石もしくは刃が回転を続け、大きな事故が発生している。そこで誤って本体から手を離してしまった場合の事故を最小限にとどめようとするものである。
【解決手段】 端部のスイッチ（以下スイッチＢ）と別に本体を握る位置にスイッチ（以下スイッチＡ）を設ける。スイッチＡ、Ｂともに起動位置にある場合のみ砥石もしくは刃が回転する構造とする。スイッチＡを起動位置に維持しないと砥石もしくは刃の回転は停止し、スイッチＢも自動的に停止位置に移動する。
