However, the above-mentioned conventional rolls have the following problems. A roll formed by integrally forming a roller portion and a shaft portion by drawing is difficult to manufacture when the difference in the outer diameter between the roller portion and the shaft portion is large or when the entire length of the roll is long. For this reason, there is a problem that it is not suitable for production of a small amount or production of many kinds. On the other hand, in a roll formed by forming the roller and the shaft separately, and then integrally joining the shaft to the end face of the roller by the friction welding method, it is difficult to set various conditions of the friction welding. There is a problem that it is difficult to use different materials for the roller portion and the shaft portion because the materials are restricted. Further, there is a problem that the processing cannot be performed until after the joining, and the positioning of the roller portion and the shaft portion at the time of joining is unstable. In particular, in the case where the difference between the outer diameters of the roller portion and the shaft portion is large or the length of the entire roll is long, the post-processing becomes extremely difficult. Furthermore, when the outer diameter of the roller portion is cut in the post-processing, a pinhole or the like is generated at the joint portion, and the surface becomes rough.
This pinhole cannot be determined until after the cutting process, and is a fatal defect for the roll. Therefore, it is easy to fabricate and create a roll that has a strong connection between the members forming the roll and has no defects. Was desired.
