2. Description of the Related Art In an automobile production plant, a body, a bumper, and the like are painted using a painting robot. In this case, one painting robot holds one painting gun, and every time the paint color of the body or bumper changes, the painting gun and the inside of the paint path are washed to prevent color mixing. Therefore, the amount of the cleaning thinner and the amount of the paint remaining in the paint path to be washed away are large, which is uneconomical. As a countermeasure, JP-A-6-134354 discloses that a coating gun is provided with a plurality of paint nozzles, paint is supplied to a bell head through a dedicated route for each paint color, and the paint route is not washed for each color change. We have proposed a rotary atomizing electrostatic coating device that reduces the amount of cleaning thinner and the amount of paint to be washed away.

According to the present invention, there is provided a rotary atomizing electrostatic coating apparatus of the present invention and a coating tank unit to the coating gun body of the rotary atomizing electrostatic coating apparatus.
In the method of attaching the paint tank and the paint tank unit of the rotary atomizing electrostatic coating device, the color is changed together with the paint tank unit. Therefore, the remaining paint in the paint supply path including the paint nozzle is not washed off and not washed by the thinner, and the amount of the washed-out paint and the thinner are drastically reduced. In addition, one paint tank unit is installed in one paint gun, and one paint tank unit has only one paint nozzle. Therefore, the number of paint colors is limited by the arrangement space of paint nozzles. However, the number of paint colors can be freely increased. Furthermore, the paint nozzle of the paint tank unit mounted on the paint gun can be arranged on the paint gun axis, and the trouble that occurs when the paint nozzle is displaced from the axis does not occur.

The paint gun body 3 and the paint tank unit 4 are provided with a paint suction air path 19 and a paint pushing air path 20. When the compressed air is supplied from the paint suction air path 19 and the spool valve is moved in the direction in which the paint chamber 18 expands, the paint is sucked into the paint chamber 18 through the paint supply port 21, and the compressed air is discharged from the paint extrusion air path 20. When the supply and the spool valve are moved in a direction in which the paint chamber 18 is reduced, the paint nozzle 11 is moved from the paint chamber 18.
Is extruded and supplied to the bell head 5. However, the paint is sucked into the paint chamber 18 by removing the paint tank unit 4 from the paint gun body 3 as described later. As shown in FIG. 6, the joint between the paint gun body 3 and the paint tank unit 4 in the paint suction air path 19 and the paint push-out air path 20 has a structure in which airtightness is maintained by a rubber packing 36. .

Next, the operation will be described. Painting robot 2
The paint gun 1 attached to the paint supply tank placement table 3
The robot is moved to the fourth section, and one of the paint tank units 4a, 4b,... (For example, 4a) in the painting order is inserted from behind the painting gun body 3, and the air cylinder 25 is operated and fixed. Next, the painting robot 2 is operated,
The coating gun 1 is moved to the coating site, the spool valve 13 is advanced at a constant speed to push out the coating material, and the coating is performed by spraying from the rotating bell head 5. After painting, double pipe washing nozzle 10
The cleaning head and the paint nozzle 11 are washed by alternately spraying a cleaning thinner and air. After that, the paint gun 1 is transferred to the paint tank unit placement table 34 again.
, The used paint tank unit 4a is returned to the placement table 34, the next paint color paint tank unit 4b is taken, and the same operation as above is repeated. In the above cleaning, it is not necessary to clean the inside of the paint nozzle 11 only by replacing the paint tank unit 4 of the cartridge type.
Further, since there is no need to wash away the paint remaining inside the paint nozzle 11 at the time of the color change, the amount of the thinner to be washed at the time of the color change is small, and there is no paint loss.

According to the present invention, a rotary atomizing electrostatic coating apparatus has a coating gun main body and a coating tank unit detachable from the coating gun main body and detachable from the coating gun main body. Therefore, it is not necessary to wash the inside of the paint supply path including the paint nozzle at the time of color change, and it is not necessary to wash away the paint remaining in the paint nozzle. Therefore, it is possible to reduce the amount of the cleaning thinner and the amount of the wash-off paint. In addition, since the entire paint tank unit is replaced, there is no need to provide multiple paint nozzles on the paint gun, and even if the number of paint colors increases, there is no restriction on the space where paint nozzles can be placed. Can freely respond to the increase.
