[0002] A fingerprint collating apparatus performs identity verification by automatically collating information obtained by imaging a fingerprint with fingerprint information registered in advance. Since everyone has different fingerprints, and since fingerprints are permanent, they can be used as identification information for a specific person, without the use of ordinary keys or cards. , Entry control and the like can be performed.

The prism surface 2 of the finger rest 1 is illuminated by the lamp 4 through the finger rest 1 from the lower surface 1c side. By placing a finger 3 on the prism surface 2 and pressing the fingertip, the fingerprint ridge contacts the prism surface 2. When viewed from the slope 1b side of the finger rest 1 in this state, the fingerprint ridge portion has a different light reflectance from the other portions, and therefore, the imaging device 5 such as a TV camera uses the imaging device 5 such as a television camera from the slope 1b side of the finger rest 1.
A fingerprint image formed on the prism surface 2 can be captured.

[0006] The image processing unit 7 in the fingerprint collation control unit 6 processes the picked-up fingerprint image so that the feature points can be easily compared. Then, the collation unit 9 stores the dictionary image in the fingerprint registration unit 8. Are sequentially compared with the fingerprint feature points registered in the form of. Then, when matching with the input fingerprint image is detected for a predetermined number or more of the feature points, it is determined that the matching is successful. The characteristic points of the fingerprint are extracted from the end points and branch points of the fingerprint ridge.

FIG. 3 is a flowchart showing a conventional embossing determination process in the fingerprint collating apparatus. At the time of fingerprint collation, first, the device requests a fingerprint imprint. When it is determined that the first fingerprint imprinting has been performed, a fingerprint image is captured,
Collation processing with a registered fingerprint image is performed. If the collation is successful, the collation succeeds, and for example, a process such as a predetermined entry permission is executed.

If the first fingerprint imprint fails the verification, a request for imprinting is made again, a fingerprint image is taken in, and the verification process is performed. If the verification fails, such processing is repeated. If the verification fails in the third verification, the processing of the verification failure is performed.
For example, processing such as entry refusal is executed.

In the conventional fingerprint imprint determination process shown in FIG. 3, the collation result is rejection,
Even when a request for imprinting is made again and a fingerprint image is taken in accordance with the request, the state of the finger placed on the finger rest remains the same, and the imprinting is continuously performed during the three times of collation. Surface (prism surface 2).

In the first collation, the collation is rejected, and when a request for re-printing is made from the fingerprint collation device, if the finger is held in close contact with the imprint surface following the first fingerprint imprint. In other words, the fingerprint image captured by the reprinting request is almost the same as the fingerprint image captured at the first time. Therefore, if the collation result using the fingerprint image captured first time is rejected, the collation result based on the fingerprint image captured second time is also likely to be rejected.

Therefore, during the second fingerprint printing, the first fingerprint
After the second fingerprint imprint, once remove the finger from the imprint surface, re-place the finger on the imprint surface, and prompt the user to perform the fingerprint imprint, and the collation result based on the fingerprint image captured by the second fingerprint imprint Is considered to have a higher possibility of passing the verification, but such a method has not been conventionally performed.

Further, if a finger is left on the impression surface during a plurality of fingerprint image acquisitions before the first fingerprint image acquisition is performed as in the conventional method, the impression time is long. As a result, the skin of the finger expands and contracts, the fingerprint image is deformed, and the matching rate is reduced. Furthermore, when the position of the finger placed on the imprint surface is deviated, the fingerprint is partially deformed, so that the imprint time becomes longer, the distortion of the fingerprint image increases, and the collation rate further decreases.

Since the fingerprint image is captured immediately after the device confirms the fingerprint imprint, the fingerprint image is sensed as soon as the finger is placed on the fingerprint imprint surface. Therefore, if the finger is released from the surface to be imprinted for each fingerprint imprint as in the method of the present invention, the timing for capturing the fingerprint image after imprinting can be kept constant, and it can be performed in a short time after imprinting. It is possible to make the collation rate at the time of the first fingerprint imprinting and the collation rate at the time of the second fingerprint imprinting unchanged by making the time conditions the same.
Such a method has not been proposed.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention is to solve such a problem of the prior art, and in a fingerprint collating apparatus,
When capturing a fingerprint image to be subjected to collation determination, fingerprint imprinting is performed from a state where fingerprinting is not performed, and the obtained fingerprint image is captured as an image for fingerprint collation, Thereby, based on the deformation of the fingerprint caused by the imprinting state continuing for a long time,
Imprinting in a fingerprint matching device that prevents imprinted fingerprints from rejecting collation and keeps the timing of capturing the fingerprint image after imprinting constant and that can be performed in a short time after imprinting It is intended to provide a judgment processing method.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION According to the present invention, there is provided a fingerprint collating apparatus for collating a fingerprint image obtained from an imprinted fingerprint with a registered dictionary image to determine whether or not the collation is successful. To determine the presence or absence of fingerprint imprinting. If fingerprint imprinting has been performed in the first stage of the verification process, a request for finger release is made, and the presence or absence of fingerprint imprinting after this finger release request is determined. In the judgment result of the presence or absence of imprinting,
When it is confirmed that fingerprint imprinting has not been performed, a request for fingerprint imprinting is requested. After the request for fingerprint imprinting, the presence or absence of fingerprint imprinting is determined again. This is to capture images.

(1) In the first stage of the collation processing, first, it is determined whether or not a fingerprint is imprinted. In this case, the presence or absence of fingerprint imprinting can be determined based on the fact that the image detected by the imaging device is bright in the fingerprint imprinting state due to the reflection of light on the finger head and dark in the non-imprinting state.

(8) As a result of the collation processing of (7), if the collation is successful, the flow shifts to collation success processing. If the collation is unsuccessful, the procedure returns to (1), again confirms the absence of fingerprint imprinting, and repeats the procedure of performing fingerprint imprinting and collation processing. If the result of the third verification is a rejection, the process proceeds to a verification failure process.

According to the present invention, in a fingerprint matching device,
When a fingerprint image to be collated is acquired, if the fingerprint was originally impressed and held, or if it was continuously imprinted and held from the time when the verification was judged to be unsuccessful, the imprint was held. The fingerprint image is not taken in as a fingerprint image for the subsequent collation processing.

Therefore, even after the verification is once failed, since the fingerprints are continuously stamped and held in the same state, a fingerprint image substantially similar to the fingerprint image determined to be rejected is replaced by the next one. It is collected as a fingerprint image for collation, and also in the next collation, rejection can be prevented from occurring repeatedly.

Further, in the method of the present invention, regardless of the presence or absence of the fingerprint imprint before the collation processing is performed, the fingerprint is imprinted again from a state in which the finger is released, and the fingerprint image is captured immediately after that. Is taken at a fixed timing and in a short time after imprinting. Therefore, it is possible to prevent a reduction in the matching rate caused by distortion of the fingerprint image due to expansion and contraction of the skin, which occurs when the fingerprint is held and held before the first matching is performed.

As described above, according to the present invention, in the fingerprint collation device, the state in which the fingerprint is not judged to be unsuccessful is not continued, and the timing of capturing the fingerprint image after the imprint is made constant. In addition, it is possible to provide an embossing determination processing method that can be performed in a short time after imprinting, which greatly contributes to an improvement in the collation rate of the fingerprint collation device.
