分とした自然物のみからなる粘土、もしくはこれらに人
為的に雲母、カーボン繊維、シリコン繊維、アルミナ繊
維、ポリイミド、アスベスト、ワラステナイト、石英、
長石、ガラス繊維等のケイ酸塩鉱物、ポリエチレン繊
維、鉄分、有機物質などの1種以上を必要により添加し
た粘土を任意形状でハニカム構造の板体(5〜100mm
位)に押出成形し、その生地板を乾燥し、これを800〜1
450℃で焼成したものである。また、中空部6、7は複
数段とし、化粧面2を引っ張る力をより低減した形状
で、かつ強度を向上させるためのものである。小凹溝8
は第2図(a)〜(g)に示すように隔壁5の化粧面2
と連続した端部5aの肉厚をt3のように薄く形成し、乾
燥、焼成時の隔壁5の収縮が化粧面2の表面に実質的に
作用しない力となる厚さとしたものである。すなわち、

形状、(d)図は口細曲面状、(e)図は三角形状、
(f)図は台形状、(g)図は多条小凹溝状に形成した
端部5aである。なお、化粧面2の肉厚をt1、隔壁5の肉
