(Prior Art and Problems to be Solved) FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view of an example of a ribbon-shaped multi-core optical fiber using the coating remover of the present invention. As shown in the drawing, a plurality of optical fiber cores provided with a coating layer (22) on an optical fiber glass (21) are arranged adjacently and in parallel on a plane, and are common to these optical fiber cores. And an outer coating layer (23).

In such a ribbon-shaped multi-core optical fiber (20), it is possible to remove the coating layer (22) and the outer coating layer (23) at once and to connect them together, or conversely, only the common outer coating layer (23). It is also possible to separate the individual optical fiber cores by removing the above, separately remove the inner coating layer (22), and connect them individually.

However, when the collective connection is performed by removing the covering layers (22) and (23) at a time, the adhesion between the inner covering layer (22) and the optical fiber glass (21) is generally high, and the covering layer (22) And (23) were difficult to remove at once. Also, even if a structure is adopted in which the tip of the optical fiber is gripped, a conventional tool must be pressed by hand to generate a surface pressure, making the coating removal operation difficult.

Conventionally, the tip coating layer of the optical fiber has been devised to improve the removability. However, it is difficult to uniformly adjust the gripping pressure and cannot cope with the variation in the thickness of the multi-core optical fiber. Therefore, it is necessary to spend much labor for adjusting the tool.

(Means for Solving the Problems) The present invention provides a coating remover for easily and safely removing the coating layer of the above-mentioned ribbon-shaped multi-core optical fiber in a lump. An upper and lower gripping plate rotatably provided by a shaft has upper and lower clamping portions for optical fibers and a pair of wound blades on opposite surfaces thereof, and a lock mechanism for clocking the upper and lower gripping plates. The plate and the upper clamp are connected by screws via a spring, so that the upper clamp can move by rotating vertically with respect to the lower clamp and obliquely with respect to the optical fiber axis. The portion is configured to be pressed in close contact with the optical fiber in contact with the lower clamp portion.

In the drawings, (1) is an upper gripping plate, (2) is a lower gripping plate, both of which are configured to be openable and closable by a rotating shaft (3) provided at an end thereof, and a torque spring ( 4) and an opening / closing stop (5) are provided. In the vicinity of the ends of the opposing surfaces of the upper and lower gripping plates (1) and (2), upper and lower clamp tables (6) and (7) for gripping the ribbon-shaped multi-core optical fiber (20), and a pair of upper and lower wound blades (8) And (9), and guide portions (10) and (11) for positioning the optical fiber (20) on the clamp tables (6) and (7). A lock mechanism mounting base (15) is provided on the upper surface of the upper holding plate (1), and a lock mechanism (12) is rotatably mounted on a rotation shaft (13). There is a lock pin base (16) on the lower surface of the lower grip plate (2), and a hook (12a) at the tip of the lock mechanism (12).
A lock pin (14) is provided to receive the lock pin. Further, the upper holding plate (1) and the upper clamp part (6) are connected by a screw (61) via a spring (62) as shown in FIG. )
Can be rotated in a vertical direction with respect to the lower clamp part (7) and in a direction inclined with respect to the optical fiber axis.

(Operation) In removing the coating layer of the ribbon-shaped multi-core optical fiber (20) at once, the optical fiber (20) is clamped vertically (6).
By (7), it is gripped and fixed in the thickness direction. At this time, the guide portions (10) and (11) for preventing the optical fiber (20) from shifting in the width direction are located before and after the wound blades (8) and (9). Clamp part (6)
(7) can be easily set, and by positioning it at a fixed position, the wound blades (8) and (9) become orthogonal to the optical fiber (20). At this time, since the upper clamp part (6) is movable, it is pressed so as to be in close contact with the optical fiber in contact with the lower clamp part (7). For this reason, it is possible to hold the optical fiber uniformly regardless of the thickness variation.

To the scratching blade (8) (9) is cut just proportion coating layer of the optical fiber (20), the diameter of the optical fiber glass (21) d, the thickness of the optical fiber (20) t 1 and when, with set such that the interval t 2 = d + α of the scratching blade (8) (9), depth of cut from one side (t 1 -d) ÷ 2- β
And it is sufficient. Have this thickness t 2 sandwiching the gap plates between Kakizuha To this (8) (9). An optical fiber setting groove is provided in the lower clamp portion (7), and the depth thereof is (t 1 -d) 12-β. By doing so, the coating layer can be removed without damaging the optical fiber glass.

At the time of coating removal, the optical fiber (20) is sandwiched between the upper and lower clamp portions (6) and (7) and the locking mechanism (12) is locked, so that the optical fiber (20) is moved to the upper and lower clamp portions (6) and (7).
The surface of the wound blades (8) and (9) is prevented from concentrating stress on the cutting edges of the wound blades (8) and (9), thereby reducing wear and damage of the blades. Therefore,
The surfaces of the clamp portions (6) and (7) are, for example, rubber-like elastic bodies,
It is desirable to use a shape and material having a large frictional resistance such as a file.

After the removal of the coating layer as described above, as shown in FIG. 2, the lock of the lock mechanism (12) is released, the upper grip plate (1) is opened, and the removed coating layer is taken out. The lock mechanism (12) is not limited to the structure shown in the drawing, and may be any mechanism that can maintain the clamped state of the optical fiber.

(Effect of the Invention) As described above, according to the coating remover of the present invention,
Batch removal of the coating layer of the ribbon-shaped multi-core optical fiber having strong adhesion between the optical fiber glass and the coating layer can be easily and safely performed irrespective of a slight variation in the thickness.
