【発明の詳細な説明】 〔産業上の利用分野〕 この発明は芯下げ操作によって短時間で消火する消火
装置に関するものである。 〔従来の技術〕 出願人は芯上下軸による芯下げ操作だけで短時間に消
火できる消火装置として特公昭61−25962号を提案し、
実際にこの装置を取付けた石油燃焼器を市販している。
この消火装置の構成・作用は上記公報に詳記されている
が、要部を説明すると、石油燃焼器の芯収容筒1の間隙
2を芯3厚さよりも大きくして空気流通を可能とし、該
芯収容筒1に隣接する空気室4を設け、通常燃焼時空気
を空気室4と芯収容筒1から燃焼部に供給する構造を備
えている。この為石油燃焼器燃焼中空気室4は常に新鮮
な空気が満たされている。而して消火操作時空気室4の
外気導入孔を閉ざすと共に空気室4と芯収容筒1間隙を
連通する開口5よりも芯3を下げると、芯3の降下と共
に間隙2内に引込まれた炎は開口5から密閉した空気室
4の酸素を消費して空気室4を不燃ガス室とし、かつ芯
3から気化した石油ガスが空気室4に拡散して芯収容筒
間隙2の石油ガスが燃焼継続不可能な状態に薄められ、
消火するものである。そしてこの消火装置は消火時芯の
周囲の石油ガスを吹飛ばしたり外部から空気を導入して
冷却したり薄めたりして消火するものではない為に、消
火時の悪臭がほとんどないという特徴がある。 〔発明が解決しようとする問題点〕 ところで上記の消火装置は通常燃焼時常に空気室の開
閉弁が開かれているから、石油燃焼器に吹き付ける風が
直接開閉弁に向う時には燃焼部のドラフトによって設定
される流入空気量に対して、異常に多い空気が空気室に
供給され、燃焼状態が悪化するものである。 また一般的にこの種の石油燃焼器に間違って揮発性の
高いガソリンを用いて燃焼した時には油タンクの開口部
例えばカートリッジ油タンクの受皿から外部にガソリン
の蒸気が洩れだし、このガソリン蒸気は燃焼部の炎によ
って、燃焼部以外の受皿部などの開口部に引火し火災と
なってしまうものであり、この為の安全対策は全くなさ
れていなかった。 〔問題点を解決する為の手段〕 この発明は石油燃焼器の消火装置が通常時開閉弁部分
から空気を吸入していることに着目し石油燃焼器に吹付
ける風の影響が全くない油タンク内に向けて開閉弁を取
付けて風の影響を防ぐと共に、油タンク内に例えば受皿
の開口から油タンクを経て開閉弁に至る空気流路を作っ
たものである。この為揮発性の高いガソリン等を誤って
使用した場合、油タンクのガソリンの蒸気は開閉弁から
空気室を経て燃焼部に流れて燃焼してしまい、受皿等の
燃焼部以外の開口部からガソリンの蒸気を洩れにくくし
たものである。 即ち実施例である図によって説明すると、1は芯収容
筒、2は芯収容筒1の間隙、3は芯収容筒1の間隙2に
収納した燃焼芯である。該芯3を収納した芯収容筒間隙
2は芯厚さよりも大きくしてあり、燃焼状態に影響が出
ない程度の空気流通を可能としている。4は芯収容筒1
と隣接して設けた空気室、5は空気室4と芯収容筒間隙
2とを連通する開口であり、該開口5は芯下げ時の燃焼
芯3の上端よりも高い位置にあけてある。6は空気室4
に取付けた開閉弁であり、該開閉弁6は油タンク7の上
部空間に開口している。8は芯上下軸、9は芯上下機構
であり、芯上下軸8の先端のピニオンギア10はラックギ
ア11を介して芯上下筒12を回動し、該芯上下筒12は芯保
持筒13の駆動ピン14を介して芯3を上下する。前記開閉
弁6は芯上下筒12に取付けた駆動カム15によって操作さ
れ、芯下げ時閉・芯上げ時開となる。 16は油タンク7の受皿、17はカートリッジタンクであ
り、油タンク7は受皿16の小孔18などの開口部によって
外気と連通する。 〔作用の説明〕 この種の石油燃焼器の油タンク7は燃焼の進行にした
がって油面が低下するので、油タンク内に外気を取入れ
る開口部が必要であり、この為キャップにあけた空気孔
や芯調節器カバーを取付けるパッキン部のスリットやカ
ートリッジタンクの受皿の小孔などによって外気と連通
している。この発明の空気室4に取付けた開閉弁6はこ
の油タンク7内に開口しており、通常使用時開閉弁6が
開かれると外気は油タンク7の上部空間から開閉弁6を
経て空気室4に流入し、芯収容筒1の開口5から芯収容
筒間隙2を通り燃焼部へ抜ける流路ができるものであ
る。 石油燃焼器使用中でも油タンク7の温度は低く石油ガ
スの気化はごくわずかであり、従って空気室4内の空気
はほぼ外気と同じであり、消火操作を行うと密閉された
空気室4と開口5の働きで極めて短時間に石油燃焼器を
消火させることができる。そして石油燃焼器に風が吹き
付けても油タンク7内の空気には影響なく燃焼状態が悪
化しないものである。 また誤って燃料にガソリンを用いた時には、常温であ
っても油タンクのガソリンは気化を続ける。そしてこの
気化したガソリンは外気に代って開閉弁6から空気室4
に入り、芯収容筒間隙2から燃焼部に至り燃焼するもの
であり、油タンク7の外気が流入する受皿16の小孔18な
どの開口部から外部へガソリンの蒸気のもれを防ぐこと
ができ、火災等のトラブルが防止できる。尚ガソリン使
用時は空気室4内はガソリンの蒸気で満たされており、
短時間消火は期待できない。 〔効果の説明〕 以上の様にこの発明は空気室4に取付けた開閉弁6を
油タンク7内に開口し、空気室4に流入する空気は油タ
ンク7の上部空間を介して流入するように構成したか
ら、広い油タンク7の上部空間が空気の緩衝室となり、
石油燃焼器に吹付ける風の影響を完全に防止できたもの
である。 またこの種の石油燃焼器に誤ってガソリンを使用した
時はほぼ全数が火災を起していたが、この発明の構造で
は蒸発したガソリンのほとんどが空気室4を介して燃焼
部へ流れて燃焼するようになり、油タンク7から外部へ
ガソリンの蒸気の洩れがなくなった。この為ガソリン使
用によって火災を起す事例は極端に少くなり、石油燃焼
器の安全性が高まったものである。
