cm厚で覆土をいれ、ローラーで転圧する。通常、苗芝
の間に隙間(目地)を設ける方法(目地張り法)が採ら
れる。この場合は、比較的短期間(2カ月程度)で芝生
が完成するため、一般の芝生造成はこの方法が採用され
ている。しかし、張り芝中に含まれている老朽化したほ
ふく茎や、未分解の枯死植物体(サッチ)がそのまま造
成地に持ち込まれるため、完成以後の管理に手間がかか
り、かつ長期にわたる芝生の維持も比較的困難である。

われている。各造成方法における芝苗の製造段階を見て
みると、張り芝方法では既に機械化が達成されている
が、植え芝法や蒔き芝法では手作業に依っているのが現
状である。

るようにして製造能率を向上し、しかも芝苗の発根出芽
の割合が良いものにすることを目的とする。
