(Prior art) Conventionally, as a heat fixing roller used in a heat fixing section of an electronic copying machine or the like, a fluororesin such as PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene resin) or PFA (perfluoroalkoxy resin) is formed from aluminum or the like. A metal shaft having a fluororesin layer, which is coated directly or via a rubber layer such as silicone rubber or fluororubber on a metal core shaft and baked, is generally used.

As a method for manufacturing such a roller, a fluororesin is coated by a method such as applying a fluororesin dispersion, electrostatically coating a fluororesin powder, and then blowing hot air on the surface. In general, a method of heating at a temperature of about 380 to 400 ° C. for several tens of minutes and baking the fluororesin to form a fluororesin layer by a method of holding or continuously penetrating the fluororesin is performed.

After the fluororesin coating, as shown in the drawing,
An induction heating coil 1 connected to a high-frequency power supply (not shown) is fitted and heated to a temperature of 380 to 400 ° C. to sinter the fluororesin 2 on the surface. When a fluororesin is coated on the rubber layer, it is fired by using other known heating means such as hot air blowing. In the drawing, reference numeral 3 denotes a metal core shaft made of aluminum or the like.

In the present invention, when coating with a fluororesin is performed using a fluororesin dispersion, prior to baking after application, the applied surface is usually subjected to preliminary drying to remove the dispersant, but this preliminary drying is also performed. Alternatively, it may be performed using an induction heating coil.

In the present invention, in order to enhance the adhesion between the fluororesin layer and the metal core shaft, or between the fluororesin layer and the rubber layer,
A primer may be applied to the metal core shaft or the surface of the rubber layer, and then a fluororesin may be coated thereon and fired.

(Operation) In the method of the present invention, the coated fluororesin is rapidly heated to a predetermined temperature by an induction heating coil fitted to the outside thereof and fired, so that the firing time is extremely short. In a short time, productivity is improved, and thermal deterioration of the rubber layer due to firing is prevented. In addition, since the whole is uniformly heated, there is no variation in product quality.
