Conventionally, such a chair has a backrest plate having a substantially L-shaped cross section connected and supported at the center of the bottom of the seat plate. For example, a connecting member is provided at the bottom of the seat plate at a position behind the connection point with the connection point as a fulcrum. The backrest is always pressed forward from below by pressing the backrest upward, while the backrest is elastically deformed when a rearward force is applied to the backrest to allow the backrest to move backward. It is configured with a mechanism. The damper mechanism has an elastic member made of a metal coil spring mounted between a seat plate and a backrest plate.

On the other hand, as shown in FIGS. 1, 3 and 4, a cylindrical concave portion 25 for accommodating the elastic member 19 is formed in the bottom portion 5 of the seat plate. A projection 26 is formed at the center of the recess 25 so as to fit into the center of the lower end surface of the elastic member 19. Further, a pair of arc-shaped guides 27 surrounding the elastic member 19 are formed in the concave portion 25 so as to surround the elastic member 19 in a shape in which a cylinder having a larger diameter than the elastic member 19 is cut in the axial direction. The arc-shaped guide 27 is made of a synthetic resin and is formed integrally with the seat plate bottom 5. Circular guide 27
Restricts the buckling of the elastic member 19 when the elastic member 19 is contracted by the pressing force, and the pressing member 2 is formed at a notch portion between the two arc-shaped guides 27, that is, at a side portion 27a of the arc-shaped guide 27.
The vertical movement of the holding member 20 can be guided while sliding the sliding surface portion 23 of No. 0.

On the other hand, when a rearward force is applied to the backrest 8, a downward pressing force is applied to the connecting member 7, and the pressing member 20 descends while being guided by the arcuate guide 27, and the pressing force is reduced by the pressing member 20. Press receiving portion 24 and flat plate portion 2
1 to the elastic member 19. Moreover, the elastic part
The pressing force against the material 19 is uniform. As a result, the elastic member 19 is elastically deformed and contracted, thereby allowing the backrest 8 to move backward. At this time, the elastic member 19 is circular.
Buckling is regulated by the arc-shaped guide 27. Also, holding member
20 moves up and down between the two arc-shaped guides 27.
The elastic member 19 must have a long deformation stroke.
Can be. Therefore, the material selection in the elastic member 19
The freedom of choice is wide. In addition, since the projection 26 is provided in the concave portion 25 of the seat plate bottom 5, the axis of the elastic member 19 does not shift. Therefore, even a simple structure is suitable.
A positive deformation can be easily secured. Further, the elastic member 1
Numeral 9 is made of rubber, and since other members do not slide with each other, no unpleasant metal noise is generated and no maintenance is required.
