Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 〔産業上の利用分野〕 本発明は、使用時まで別々に貯蔵することが必要な２
種以上の反応性物質を同時に分配することが所望され
る、練り歯磨きのような流動性物質のための剛性の入れ
子式に構成されたマルチキャビティ分配容器に係る。
〔従来の技術及び発明が解決しようとする課題〕
練り歯磨きの成分として重炭酸ナトリウムと過酸化物
ゲルとを提供したいという要求がある。重炭酸ナトリウ
ムは周知であり研磨剤及び洗浄剤として一般に使用され
ている。過酸化ゲルは健康な歯肉の促進を助ける有益な
成分であると見なされている。これらの成分は混合する
と相互に反応するので、使用時まで別々にしておかなけ
ればならない。
Wilkinson名義の米国特許第4742940号は、基本的なシ
ングルキャビティディスペンサを開示している。単一の
流動性物質を充填される中空上部シリンダは分配口を有
するが、それ以外の上端部は閉じている。上部シリンダ
の内側にはピストンが入れ子式に上方に運動できるよう
に配置されており、ピストンとシリンダとを相対圧縮す
ると、分配口を通って流動性物質の流れを押し出すよう
に構成されている。
Hart名義の米国特許第4747517号は、混合すると重合
するような２種の押出可能な物質の１回分量を同時に分
配するためのシリングルキャビティ容器を開示してい
る。２種の物質はこれらの物質が出口から現れるまで相
互に混合しないようにする押出可能なバリヤ層により分
離される。キャビティ内に摺動可能に配置されたピスト
ンは、特別に構成した混合ノズルを通って物質を押し出
すように機能し、物質は既に混合した状態で現れる。
Nielsen名義の米国特許第3166221号は、２つのコンパ
ートメントを分離する剛性バリヤを備える剛性のピスト
ン型ダブルチューブ分配容器を開示している。チューブ
部材がハウジング部材に押し入れられると、内容物は２
つの分離したノズルを通って押し出される。内容物は分
離してはいるが近接して並列された２本の帯として現
れ、このような形態の内容物を歯ブラシの狭い幅に分配
するのは困難である。
Schaeffer名義の米国特許第4687663号は、過酸化水素
と重炭酸ナトリウムとを同時に分配するための種々の構
造を開示している。剛性ポンプ式デュアルキャビティデ
ィスペンサは二重物質流を形成する、近接して配置され
てはいるが別々の２つの出口を有しておりこのような二
重流を歯ブラシ表面の狭い幅に塗るのは困難である。出
口のリムまで伸びるディバイダにより２つのコンパート
メントに分離されるコラプシブルチューブも開示されて
いる。このような態様は、２種の成分が異なるレオロジ
ーを有する場合を考慮していないので、チューブを絞る
と２種の物質が不等量で分配される。
従って本発明の目的は、練り歯磨き等の２種の成分の
ように異なるレオロジーをもち得る２種以上の流動性物
質を同時によりなめらかに且つ一様に押し出すための剛
性ピストン式マルチキャビティ分配容器を提供すること
であり、該容器は、上部及び下部本体部材を相対圧縮す
ると、歯ブラシの狭い幅に適切且つ容易に塗付すること
が可能な単一の帯状物質流を形成するように構成されて
いる。
〔課題を解決するための手段〕
本発明は、相互に分離し且つ平行な少なくとも２つの
中空シリンダを備える分配容器から構成され、前記シリ
ンダの各々は概ね閉じた第１の端部と、開放された第２
の端部とを備えており、該第２の端部はベースに取り付
けられている２つの平行なピストンを、シリンダ及びピ
ストンを相対圧縮すると流動性物質を該シリンダの該第
１の端部に向かって流動させるように、入れ子式且つ摺
動式に受容し、また前記シリンダは出口チャネルと該出
口チャネルに流体挿通する出口手段とを有している、少
なくとも２種の流動性物質を同時押出するためのマルチ
キャビティ分配容器であって、 前記シリンダは第１のスリーブ内に配置されており、
該第１のスリーブは入れ子式に第２のスリーブの内側で
嵌合し得、該第２のスリーブは前記ピストンに接続され
るとともにこれを包囲しており、前記第１のスリーブが
前記第２のスリーブと摺動関係で密接に合致するように
構成されており、これにより前記シリンダ内への前記ピ
ストンの一様な直線運動を与えるように該スリーブ間の
相対運動を実質的に直線運動に制限することを特徴とす
る。
上記構成において、前記スリーブの各々が案内手段を
備えていてもよく、この場合、前記案内手段がスリーブ
の対向面の両方に設けられた長手方向外向き矩形拡張部
分であり、スリーブの相対圧縮の間、前記案内手段の一
方が他方の内側で移動するようにしてもよい。
分配容器には更に前向きノズルが具備されていてもよ
い。
また、前記出口手段がヒンジ式キャップ部材を装着さ
れており、該キャップ部材が、該キャップ部材を閉じた
ときにノズルの出口端部を受容するための対応する凹部
を有していてもよい。
〔作用〕
上記構成にてなるマルチキャビティ分配容器によれ
ば、第１及び第２のスリーブを相対圧縮するとシリンダ
内の流動性物質が該シリンダの第１の端部に向かって流
動し、出口チャネルを介して、出口手段から同時に単一
の帯状物質流として外部へ押出される。この際、第１及
び第２のスリーブ間の相対運動は実質的に直線運動に制
限され、前記シリンダ内への前記ピストンの一様な直線
運動が与えられる。少なくとも２つのシリンダ内の流動
性物質が異なるレオロジーを有するような場合であって
も、第１のスリーブは第２のスリーブの内側で極めてな
めらかに移動し、ピストンとシリンダとは常時平行に保
たれる。従って、本発明の分配容器は、よりなめらかに
且つ一様に複数のシリンダから複数種の流動性物質を単
一物質流として分配することができる。
その他の目的を含めて本発明を更によく理解できるよ
うに、以下、添付図面を参考に更に詳細に説明する。
〔実施例〕
まず本発明の装置を説明する前に、第１、３及び４図
を参考に、２種の物質を分配するための「注射器型」の
装置を説明する。剛性スリーブ２は剛性バリヤ６により
分離された２つの平行な中空シリンダ４を有する。２つ
のシリンダ４は夫々２種の反応性流動性物質8,9の一方
を収容している。スリーブ２は、シリンダ４の内壁14の
内側で気密に移動するように構成された１対の平行なピ
ストン12を入れ子式且つ摺動式に受容するように、底部
10が開放している。ピストン12は手で分配するためにて
こ作用を与え且つ非使用時に装置を直立させておくこと
が可能な多機能ベース15に固定されている。更にベース
は、操作中に２つのピストンがシリンダ内に円滑、均等
且つ同時に移動できるように、ピストンを剛性に保持し
ている。ピストンヘッド16は、容器の内容物8,9の全体
を効率的に分配できるようにスリーブ２の上部閉止部分
18の形状に実質的に合致すべきである。このために、ヘ
ッド16は半球状又は他の曲面状であり得る。図例による
と、ピストンヘッド16は可撓性材料から製造されてお
り、シリンダ壁に圧着して密閉する密閉リング17を含
む。各ピストン12の中空端部には下部円筒形延長部19が
受容されている。
スリーブ２の閉止上端部18は、バリヤ６の上に直径方
向に配置された円筒形分配出口通路20を有する。出口通
路20は、夫々物質8,9を収容する２つの中空シリンダ４
の一方に連通する２つの通路を有する。スリーブ２とピ
ストン部分12とを相対圧縮すると、物質8,9は出口通路2
0の夫々の通路に流入する。出口通路20は、該通路と共
に出口手段21を構成する別個のノルズ30を受容するよう
に構成されている。
出口通路20は、バリヤ６から伸延し且つ出口通路20の
内壁の内側に固定的に位置する平坦な剛性隔壁22により
二分される。隔壁22はテーパ状断面24を有しており、先
端部に直線状縁部26を有する。隔壁縁部26の断面は鋭角
であり、非常に小さい半径を有する。隔壁の側面は好ま
しくは、製品は接着し易くするように例えばベーパーホ
ーニングにより無光沢仕上げ表面加工され、テーパ24と
相俟って製品流をノズル30の出口で単一流に集束させ
る。
この特殊なノズル設計の隔壁22は、２種の反応性物質
8,9がシリンダ４から現れるときにこれらの物質を分離
しておくように機能すると共に、これらの物質の反応及
び反応物質による出口手段21の閉塞を阻止する。物質8,
9は出口手段21を通って流出する際に集束するが、２つ
の流れは出口手段の開口32から完全に離れるまで合流し
ない。隔壁22のテーパ設計により、２つの流れ8,9は出
口手段開口32の端部を越えて隔壁縁部26で合流するまで
徐々に集束し得る。この点で、２つの流れはなだらかに
接触し、単一の実質的に円筒形の２本の帯状の流れとし
て所期表面（例えば歯ブラシ）に流出し続ける。この単
一流は好都合且つ容易に、制限された表面積に正確に導
かれる。
容器から現れる単一流の直径は包装仕様に従って調整
され得る。例えば、出口通路20の周囲に嵌着するような
ノズル30が提供され得る。ノズル30は第４図に示すよう
に有効出口通路直径を漸減する内側テーパを有する。従
って、このような態様では、隔壁縁部26の露出部分の長
さはノズル30の集束内側形状35に合致するように減少す
る。
第13図及び第14図によると、ノズル30は隔壁22の内側
傾斜面35を内側に保持するために集束内壁に沿って長手
方向溝37を備える。このような構成は隔壁22を出口手段
21の内側の固定位置に維持し、結合された隔壁22及び出
口手段21の接点で流れが相互に混合するのを阻止する。
隔壁22は、好ましくは出口手段開口32から0.1〜0.3mm越
えた位置まで伸延する。
ノズル30は好ましくはヒンジ33により連結されたキャ
ップ34を有する。キャップ34は閉止中に夫々ノズルリム
31及び隔壁縁部26を受容するための凹部31a及び26aを含
む相補係合手段を含んであり、従って、一旦キャップを
閉めると２種の物質8,9の混合は阻止される。
装置は更に縞模様付与構成を備えてもよく、この場
合、第11図に示すように各シリンダ４の上部閉止部18の
近傍に所定量の縞模様付与流体108,109が収容される。
縞模様付与流体保持領域112は各シリンダ４の上部閉止
部18と出口通路20の各シリンダ４内の延長部120とによ
り規定される。内容物8,9は使用中に上部閉止部18に向
かって推進されると、矢印Ｘにより示すように出口通路
20を通る。内容物8,9は同時に矢印Ｚにより示すように
縞模様付与流体108,109に力を加える。この力の作用下
で縞模様付与流体108,109は保持領域112と出口通路20と
を連結する１以上の比較的小さいオリフィス114を通っ
て矢印Ｙにより示すように推進される。従って、装置を
圧縮すると、所定量の縞模様付与流体108,109が夫々の
流出流8,9に合流する。
次ぎに、このような注射器型の装置よりも、よりなめ
らかに且つ一様に２種以上の流動性物質を分配すること
ができる、本発明のマルチキャビティ分配容器を説明す
る。
第２図に本発明の一実施例である、デュアルキャビテ
ィ分配容器を示す。該分配容器は、揺動防止ベース87を
支持する研磨表面に対して頂部から加えられる単一の力
により相対圧縮できるように入れ子式に相互に係合可能
な上部スリーブ85及び下部スリーブ86を含む。この「ポ
ンプ型」は更に、第５図及び第６図に示すような前向き
分配ノズルを構成するノズルアセンブリ42を備える。上
部スリーブ85の内側の２つの中空シリンダは、垂直ベン
ドを介して小さい直径の２つの分離した前向きチューブ
40内に伸びる出口通路を有する。チューブ40の周囲には
出口アセンブリ42が装着され、該アセンブリは上記のよ
うに２つの通路を有する出口通路20を端部に構成するよ
うに先細形に形成される。チューブ40は出口アセンブリ
42のチューブスリーブ41を受容する。チューブスリーブ
41は出口アセンブリ42の内側に集束し、上記のように出
口手段21を通って隔壁22として伸延する共通剛性バリヤ
を形成する。別に出口手段21を構成するように、上記の
ようにノズル30を設けてもよい。
ポンプ型のスリーブ85,86は、スリーブ85,86の２つの
対向面の両方に長手方向外向き矩形拡張部を含む案内手
段91,93を有してもよく、該案内手段91,93の一方はスリ
ーブの相対圧縮中に他方の内側を移動する。案内手段
は、一方のスリーブが他方のスリーブの内側で揺動し、
その結果、２つのピストンの不均等な相対運動が生じる
のを阻止する。従って、異なるレオロジーの物質8,9は
均等に分配され得る。案内手段は許容可能なものであれ
ばどのような形状でもよく、内側及び外側の両方に複数
の拡張部を含んでもよいことが理解されよう。スリーブ
の相対運動の案内以外に、拡張部はスリーブの機械的剛
性を改良する。
装置の別の態様では、ピストンの向きを逆にしてもよ
く、その場合、ピストンは出口通路（上部）と共に配置
され、流動性物質は下部の別個のシリンダ内に配置され
る。上記及び下部の相対圧縮が行われると、物質は上部
部分の内側に形成された別々の通路を通って上方に推進
される。
装置の更に別の態様では更に縞模様付与構成を備えて
もよく、各流れが出口手段21を通過するときにこの流れ
に例えば着色剤もしくは風味剤又は機能成分を添加す
る。縞模様付与構成は第12A図及び第12B図に示す縞模様
付与ノズルによって得られる。ノズル130は上記ノズル3
0と同様に出口通路20の周囲に装着され、上記縞模様付
与構成と同様に機能する。縞模様付与流体108,109は縞
模様付与ノズル130の内側の保持領域112に配置される。
所定量の流体108,109が以上の連通オリフィス114で接触
することにより流出流8,9によりピックアップされ、該
流出流と共に運搬される。
平行な中空シリンダの個数及び対応するピストンの個
数を増加することにより、３種以上の物質は同時に分配
するように装置を延長してもよいことは容易に理解され
よう。ノズルは中心点からノズル壁に伸延する多重テー
パ状隔壁により細分されると好都合である。第15図は３
キャビティディスペンサを示す。出口通路220は隔壁222
により三分されている。当然のことながら、溝付きキャ
ップ34及びノズル30の内壁の凹部に関する上記説明を３
部分又は多重部分隔壁に容易に適用することができる。
分配器は更に、単純で組み立て易いことを特徴とする
第９図及び第10図に示す改良されたピストンヘッドを有
し得る。ピストンヘッド16aは軟質プラスチック等のよ
うな可撓性材料の外側シェル52を有する。シェルはシリ
ンダ４の内壁14に当接する周囲ワイピング表面54を有す
る。シェル52の内側には円筒形プラグ58が設けられ、プ
ラグ58はピストン12の端部62に形成された孔部64に浸入
する広がったリブ60を有する。円筒形プラグ58はピスト
ンヘッド16aがピストン12から離れないように支持す
る。突出するピストン端部62は中間円筒形部材66により
包囲され、該部材は、ピストンヘッド16aをピストン端
部62に固定する。中間円筒形部材66はピストンがディス
ペンサの操作中にシリンダ４に押し込まれるときにシェ
ル52をピストン12と共に押し出すように機能する。
本発明の装置の別の態様は更に、輸送中又は最初の使
用が所望される以前のその他の時点でシェル及びピスト
ンの不要な相対圧縮を阻止する鎖錠機溝（第７図及び第
８図）を含み得る。第７図Ａ、Ｂ及びＣに示すキー70
は、矩形断面のロッド72から構成され、ロッドの端部74
において対向面76,79の少なくとも一方は上方に傾斜（7
7,75）し、部分的に円形断面の拡大端部78を形成する。
第２図に示すように、装置の組み立て前に、相互に平行
な長手方向スロット80を通って上部スリーブ85の前面及
び後面にキー70を挿入する。次にキー84を回し、スロッ
ト80の幅よりも広い端面78の曲面71aによりキーが上部
スリーブ85から外き引き出されないようにする。装置の
組み立て時に、ピストン12を固定式に収容する剛性下部
スリーブ86に上部スリーブ85を入れ子式に挿入する。ロ
ッド72は下部スリーブ86の上端88にぶつかり、スロット
80の端部により形成されるストップ82により下部スリー
ブ上に保持される。こうしてスリーブ85及び86はそれ以
上の相対運動を阻止される。最初の使用が必要になった
ら、キーを回し、端面78の真っすぐな面71bがスロット
の縁部に整列するようにする。次にキー84を外側に引い
て装置を圧縮することができる。大きい力を加えれば、
キーを回さずに外すことができる。
〔発明の効果〕
以上、詳述したように、本発明によれば、２種以上の
流動性物質を同時に押し出すための剛性ピストン式マル
チキャビティ分配容器を提供する。該容器は、第１及び
第２のスリーブを相対圧縮すると、歯ブラシの狭い幅に
適切且つ容易に塗付することが可能な単一の帯状物質流
を形成し得る。少なくとも２つのシリンダ内の流動性物
質が異なるレオロジーを有するような場合であっても、
第１のスリーブは第２のスリーブの内側で極めてなめら
かに移動し、ピストンとシリンダとは常時平行に保たれ
る。従って、よりなめらかに、且つ一様に複数のシリン
ダから複数種の流動性物質を単一の帯状物質流として分
配することができる。

    (57)【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】相互に分離し且つ平行な少なくとも２つの
    中空シリンダ（４）を備える分配容器から構成され、前
    記シリンダの各々は概ね閉じた第１の端部（18）と、開
    放された第２の端部（10）とを備えており、該第２の端
    部はベースに取り付けられている２つの平行なピストン
    を、シリンダ及びピストンを相対圧縮すると流動性物質
    を該シリンダの該第１の端部に向かって流動させるよう
    に、入れ子式且つ摺動式に受容し、また前記シリンダは
    出口チャネルと該出口チャネルに流体連通する出口手段
    （20）とを有している、少なくとも２種の流動性物質を
    同時押出するためのマルチキャビティ分配容器であっ
    て、 前記シリンダは第１のスリーブ（85）内に配置されてお
    り、該第１のスリーブは入れ子式に第２のスリーブ（8

    する請求項１から３のいずれか一項に記載の分配器。
  5. 【請求項５】前記出口手段がヒンジ式キャップ部材（3
    4）を装着されており、該キャップ部材が、該キャップ
    部材を閉じたときにノズルの出口端部（31）を受容する
    ための対応する凹部（31a）を有する請求項１から４の
    いずれか一項に記載の分配容器。
