〔産業上の利用分野〕
この発明は、芳香剤及び/又は消臭剤の分野において使用される透明ゲル状芳
香及び/又は消臭組成物に関するものである。
〔従来の技術〕
従来の透明ゲル状組成物においては、ゲル化剤として一般にカラギーナン、寒
天等の天然高分子化合物が使用されており、又近年これらに代わるものとしてウ
レタン系、ビニルアルコール系等の合成高分子化合物が使用されている。
〔発明が解決しようとする問題点〕
しかしながら、上記カラギーナン、寒天等の天然高分子化合物は、凝固温度が
高いので、例えば透明ゲル状芳香剤への使用においては、香料を添加する場合に
その香料分の一部が揮散してしまうという問題点を有し、さらに離水防止やゲル
強度向上のために他の成分を添加しなければならず、そのため透明度が低下する
という問題点を有していた。
又、上記ウレタン系、ビニルアルコール系等の合成高分子化合物は、ゲル化剤
として使用する場合に5〜30重量%の含有量を必要とするので、残査が多いと
いう問題点を有し、さらにゲル構造が天然高分子化合物を使用した場合に比べ強
固であり、水の揮散と共にゲル表面が乾燥する傾向にあり、透明ゲル状芳香剤へ
の使用においては、香料の持続力、強さ等を調節するのに問題があり、さらに又
これら合成高分子化合物は、ゲル化を阻害する物質に注意を要し、透明ゲル状芳
香剤への使用においては、添加する香料等に選択性があるという問題点を有して
いた。
〔問題点を解決するための手段〕
そのため、この発明の透明ゲル状芳香及び/又は消臭組成物は、ゲル化剤とし
て、下記の一般式で示される高分子多糖類を含有してなるものである。
上記一般式で示される高分子多糖類は、グルコース2分子と、ラムノース、グ
ルクロン酸1分子ずつを1単位とした直鎖の高分子であり、以下このものを単に
ジェランガムと称す。
この発明の透明ゲル状芳香及び/又は消臭組成物への前記ジェランガムの含有
量は0.1〜3.0重量%であり、好ましくは0.5〜1.5重量%である。0
.1重量%未満ではゲル化機能をほとんど有さず、又3.0重量%を越えると透
明度が低下する。
この発明の透明ゲル状芳香及び/又は消臭組成物の前記ゲル化剤以外並びに界
面活性剤に溶解した芳香剤及び/又は消臭剤以外の含有成分としては、色素、防
腐剤、防虫剤、殺虫剤、忌避剤等を挙げることができる。尚、界面活性剤は、香
料、消臭剤を効果的に可溶化できるものであれば何でもよく、例えばノニオン系
界面活性剤のうちポリオキシエチレンノニルフェニルエーテル系、ソルビタン脂
肪酸エステル系を単独又は混合して用いることができる。界面活性剤は香料及び
/又は消臭剤の可溶化に最適の量を使用するが、大量の使用は得られる透明ゲル
状芳香及び/又は消臭組成物からの香料及び/又は消臭剤の揮散を阻害するので
、なるべく使用量をおさえるのが好ましい。さらに、厳寒時のゲルの凍結防止の
ため、必要に応じ多価アルコール類、グリコールエーテル類を添加することもで
きる。
〔作用〕
この発明の透明ゲル状芳香及び/又は消臭組成物は、ゲル化剤としてジェラン
ガムを含有することにより、凝固温度を低くすることができるので香料等の揮散
性物質の添加は低温で可能となり、又高温下でもゲル状態がくずれず安定し、さ
らにゲル化剤そのものの使用量が少なくてすみ、さらに又ゲル化を阻害する物質
にさほど注意を要することはなくなった。
〔実施例〕
次に、この発明を実施例に基づきさらに詳細に説明する。
実施例1.
表Iに示す配合量(重量%)従い、第1過程として、ジェランガムを水に添加
し、90℃以上になるまで、加熱攪拌する。次に、第2過程として、ジェランガ
ムが完全に溶解した後、約50℃になるまで冷却する。それとは別に香料を界面
活性剤に溶解し、そしてさらに塩化カルシウム、防腐剤を加えて攪拌する。これ

表Iに示す配合量(重量%)に従い、カラギーナンを水に添加し、80℃にな
るまで加熱攪拌する。カラギーナンが完全に溶解した後、香料、界面活性剤、防
腐剤を加え、さらに攪拌しながら、約60℃になるまで冷却してから容器へ充填
し、室温になるまで放置した。 上記実施例1〜3と比較例について、凝固温度、ゲル溶解温度の測定を行った

態がくずれず安定しているので、広範囲の用途に使用できる。さらにゲル化剤そ
のものの使用量が少なくてすむので、残査が少なくなり、さらに又ゲル化を阻害
する物質にさほど注意を要することはなく、添加する香料及び/又は消臭剤にも
