Heating means, air blowing means, or a combination thereof are usually used for this type of drying treatment. However, applying such means to a printer not only unnecessarily complicates the apparatus but also requires a great deal of processing. This is not preferable because it involves power consumption, and further, when a high-density recording image is written, the recording paper is ejected without sufficiently drying the ink image. There is a problem that the surface of the previous recording paper is stained by semi-dry ink due to contact with the recording paper.

In order to solve such a problem, the apparatus disclosed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 1-145545 has a pair of rail members rotatably disposed on both sides of a paper discharge tray, and temporarily discharges the recording paper. The recording unit is held on the rails, and the rails are rotated in the evacuation direction to drop the recording unit onto the discharge tray. It is excellent in that the ink image written on the previous recording paper is dried using the recording / writing time. However, it has a problem that it cannot cope with recording paper of different sizes because it has a structure in which the left and right rails are pivotally supported at fixed positions. Due to the rotating structure, if the friction coefficient of the rail surface is different on the left and right, there is a problem that the recording paper may fall obliquely and not be properly stacked on the paper output tray. Occurs.

(Problem to be solved by the present invention) The present invention has been made in view of such a problem, and its purpose is to temporarily hold the recording paper discharged regardless of the size. An object of the present invention is to provide an improved recording paper processing mechanism that can be properly dropped.

(Means for Solving the Problems) That is, according to the present invention, as a recording paper processing mechanism in an ink jet printer for achieving the above object, a recording paper placed in each recording / writing cycle by releasing a downward pressing force by a cam member. A hopper plate which is urged by an urging member and is displaced upward so as to instantaneously contact the peripheral surface of the paper feed roller is disposed below the paper discharge tray. A pair of paper width regulating members having a height reaching the upper side are attached so as to be able to expand and contract in the width direction according to the paper width, and a narrow paper supporting the lower side of the discharged recording paper at the upper end of these paper width regulating members. The receiving plate is integrally mounted.

(Operation) With this configuration, the recording paper ejected after the recording / writing process is temporarily held by the paper receiving plate to suppress the ink stain caused by the contact between the recording papers, and to supply the recording paper. The recording paper held by the upward displacement of the hopper plate at the time of paper is properly blown down onto the paper discharge tray by using its static inertia force.

FIG. 1 shows an embodiment of the present invention. In the figure, reference numeral 1 denotes a hopper plate disposed below the discharge tray 5, and the hopper plate 1 acts on the lower surface of the recording paper s so that the leading end of the recording paper s can contact the paper feed roller 4. The rear end is pivotally supported by a pin 3 while being constantly urged upward by a hopper spring 2. As shown in FIG. 4, on both sides of the hopper plate 1, a pair of paper width regulating plates 7, 7 integral with the rack rod 6 are slidably mounted in the width direction. Is meshed with a common pinion 8 provided on the lower surface of the hopper plate 1 so that it can be expanded and contracted equally to the left and right. The paper width regulating plates 7, 7 have a height reaching the upper side of the paper discharge tray 5, and the upper end thereof is configured to temporarily support both lower surfaces of the recording paper s discharged from the printer main body. A narrow paper receiving plate 9 is integrally attached.

(Effects) As described above, according to the present invention, the hopper plate which is displaced upward for each recording / writing cycle is disposed below the paper discharge tray, and the upper end of the hopper plate is provided on both sides of the hopper plate. The paper width regulating member with a height reaching the paper section is mounted so as to be displaceable in the width direction, and a narrow paper receiving plate is provided at the upper end for supporting both sides of the lower surface of the discharged recording paper. In addition to temporarily holding the recording paper to prevent ink contamination caused by contact between the recording papers, the recording paper held by the upward displacement of the hopper plate during paper feeding is properly ejected by using its static inertia force. You can drop it on the tray. In addition, since the paper receiving plate is formed integrally with the paper width regulating member, the function of preventing the above-mentioned contamination can be imparted to the conventional apparatus by making only a slight change to the conventional apparatus. Can be dealt with equally regardless of the size of
