Abstract

In one embodiment, a cosmetic case is provided for holding at least one sachet. The box includes a refillable and removable sleeve holding at least one pouch. The box includes a spring that biases a platform that holds the pouch in place for the user to remove the pouch when the box is opened.

Description

FIELD OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to compact hand-held boxes, and more particularly to presentation boxes that allow the user to remove single-dose applicator sachets.

Small cosmetic boxes are well known in the industry. However, there is always a need to design and create specially designed unique presentation boxes to solve the purpose. In contrast, a cosmetic case containing opened cosmetics may dry out or spill. Therefore, the industry has developed cosmetic boxes to hold prepackaged single-dose sachets. These sachets may contain applicators, wipes, or creams that are discarded after use on the face or hands. However, the boxes that hold these single-dose sachets are often difficult to use and do not allow easy refilling of single doses.

Therefore, there is a need for an invention that goes beyond the prior art and can provide a cosmetic case that is easy to use and easy to refill.

In one embodiment of the invention, a cosmetic case is provided for holding at least one sachet. The box includes a lid connected to the base by a hinge along the rear of the box. The base can be defined to include a lower base surface terminating in a base edge. A continuous base sidewall extends upwardly from the base edge to define a base well therebetween. The base side wall extends to the upper edge of the base side wall. The box further includes a spring fixed at one end to the underside of the base and at another distal end to the platform, the spring biasing the platform away from the underside of the base. The box also includes a base platform fitted and secured within the base well. The base has a top ridge that extends radially inward toward the circular recess and then toward the inner peripheral edge. The inner wall extends downwardly from the inner peripheral edge toward a lower ridge extending radially inwardly, the lower ridge being adjacent to the lower base surface and defining a sub-well between the inner walls. At least one channel along the inner wall extends from the inner peripheral edge to the lower ridge. Each of the at least one channel further includes a longitudinally oriented notch proximate the lower ridge. The sleeve is removably fitted to the base base. The sleeve is defined to include an upper surface region that extends inwardly to a sleeve sidewall that extends downwardly to define a sleeve well. The top region further includes a raised overhanging lip that overhangs a portion of the sleeve blowout. A side opening below the top area is configured to receive at least one pouch. Referring now to FIGS. 1-13, a cosmetic case 100 is shown. Sleeve 180 includes a top region 184 that extends inwardly into a sleeve well 186 having a defined sleeve well sidewall 188 . The sleeve blow-through portion 186 is shaped to accommodate a pouch. As mentioned above, the top region 184 further includes a raised portion 182 having a curved profile 183 that extends over a portion of the sleeve well 186 to urge the pouch down against the force of the spring. Finally, below the top area 184 is a circular extension 192 around a terminal edge 194 sized to fit within the circular recess 213 on the base. Therefore, when the sleeve well-through portion 186 is fitted into the sub-well-well portion 220, the sleeve 180 can be twisted about the base even though the outer contour is polygonal. A protruding knob 190 acting within the channel and notch provides a twist stop that prevents the sleeve from becoming excessively twisted or misaligned.
